How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe booked Rum Crown, but upon arrival were directed by the host to another camp, so-called "Luxury Rum Magic" because Rum Crown was closed. Rum Magic is a mass market, tour-bus type camp, not what we had booked. The room was smaller, one less bed, no deck, awful bathroom, etc etc. So......spoiled our experience. I had to bargain with the host to reduce the charge, given this was not what we had booked, and ended up paying 50% less. But although he's a nice guy, etc, and he even drove me to Rum Crown to show it to me (it was just what we had wanted), the overall experience was pretty much wrecked.

Sadly there is a lot of rubbish in the wadi rum area more widely, although the rum crown camp was very clean

Verified reviewSimply the best in Wadi Rum. Mahmood was a perfect host, we had a wonderful dinner and later we spent some hours with him just talking and playing with cards around the fire eating local sweets and drinking tea. The room was amazing and we also took a walk barefoot around the camp just enjoying the desert. Even if we were the only couple in the camp we enjoyed every moment. We had to spend only one night and it was not enough so we will came back for sure!

Verified reviewStaff was super nice and dinner was very good. We saw sunrise and sunset by around 10 minutes walk from the camp. The room was cozy and water pressure was good. We joined 3 tours with them and the guide Mahmoud was the best (although he made me walk faster all the time). We had a great time there. Highly recommended.

Verified reviewIt exceeded all our expectations! We booked at the last minute while sitting in the Visitor Center. They confirmed the reservation within moments, got in touch with us, and Ahmed was already there in the parking lot to pick us up 15 minutes later, where we left the car. It wasn't fully booked, so they upgraded our room, which was super spacious, but the view exceeded everything. They organized a jeep tour for us that same afternoon. Mahmoud was an excellent driver and tour guide; we had a really really great time. We laughed so much that our faces hurt. :) Upon returning from the tour, they welcomed us with an excellent dinner, and everyone found something to their taste. We tried everything from the vegetarian option to the super spicy salad. There was no fault in anything; we know what we're talking about as we work in gastro-marketing. :) And just when we thought our day couldn't get any better, Ahmed and Mahmoud put us in the car and took us to a nearby camp to see how the locals have fun. We ended the day with stargazing, and we've never seen anything like it in our lives. A life-changing experience. Guys, we are incredibly grateful for everything! side note: The icing on the cake was that Ahmed organized a fantastic snorkeling trip for us the next day in Aqaba. Verified reviewRum Crown is a gem of a stay in the Wadi Rum desert. Situated perfectly to watch the sunset. The camp is everything you could want from a comfortable tent experience. The team working there are extremely friendly and welcoming and will attend to your every need. I did the 8 hour jeep tour and truly cannot recommend it enough - it is a life changing experience. The zarb meal is a total treat. There is nothing to fault with this delightful small and friendly camp

Verified reviewThe owner and staff are very nice, the room is clean and the sheet and towels smell fresh. Hot water is good. There is signal and wifi here. Finally, when they sent me to visitor center, they took me to watch the sunset for free. I was very touched by the view and people here. If my friend comes to wadi rum in the future, I will definitely recommend rum crown
No AC in the room. But it doesn’t matter, because the hottest time is noon, you usually stay outside and on your jeep tour

Verified reviewOn time pick up. Great dinner. Lovely sunset. A camel ride was arranged for us and arrived promptly.
The staff were sleeping outside around the fire pit when we came back from our camel ride at sunrise. When we woke them up we got a very chilly reception; it seemed that the cook was annoyed to have to make coffee and rather than make some fresh, he poured coffee from a carafe from the previous day, and then went back to sleep. There were still dishes and a mess on the tables from the previous night. Really a turn off. We left immediately. Staff need to be a bit more professional and act less like they are at summer camp. The morning was saved by the good graces of the driver who was super friendly and helpful.
