How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewReally well located near Petra and on the desert road 1h30 away from Dana reserve 1h30 away from wadi rum desert Really warm welcoming staff who was anticipated and asked me if I wanted to have dinner in The hotel / have lunch for take away the following day Offered tea at the arrival to enjoy the sunset Great experience
The “dirty windows” that didn’t allow to have the best experience for sunset even if the view was amazing and the photos taken are nice

Verified reviewI had an unforgettable stay at this charming hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel completely at home with their warm hospitality and genuine kindness. The rooms were clean and It’s also a 10 mins ride to Petra. One of the highlights was the homemade food (the best I have tried in Jordan), full of flavor and love, just like a home-cooked meal should be. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from the terrace. I highly recommend!

Verified reviewStunning view from the terrace and good breakfast with some organic stuff from their land. Clean place in general and comfortable room.
Far away from Petra Center ; not walkable distance , I didnt care because I hitchhike all the time , though. - I felt a bit uncomfotable when they pushed me several times to leave a positive review as soon as I arrived ; I felt they were more focused on their business rather than connecting with their guests or being helpful. To sum up , I had the feeling they were not genuine. -At the beggining they weren't flexible when I wanted to change the date of my staying. - Asking for whatsapp number to my "temporary girl friend" was a bit out of place ; I saw the intention.. - Dont ever ask for breakfast box. 😅 - At the end he got upset because I stained the towel when I removed the dust from my bag. Just dust, bro.
My friend, at first you are an unclear person. Your reservation was for two nights and one person. You brought a girl from the street to spend the night with you, and I told you that your reservation was only for one person, and I only took 5 dinars from you. You told me that your reservation was for two nights, and you wanted the first night and to leave and come back after a week to take the other night. This is wrong. On the first night, we provided you with a free car to the visitors’ center, and we did not ask you for anything. You extended the reservation for two more nights, other than the reservation, and I only charged you 12 dinars. Breakfast included, what more do you want??? And in the end you wipe the bag with the towels that people dry themselves with, and it's not dust, but mud (dirt and water)

Verified reviewClose to Petra and quite cheap!:) Super view at breakfast and dinner. Delicious food made by the mother. Served nicely by the son. Checked in and checked out with the father that was very welcoming. This is a fairly new hostel, struggling alongside many by the lack of tourism in the region. If you are reading this, you’ve stumbled on your hotel and you’ll have a great time:)

Verified reviewReally beautiful location (great mountain views) and not that far from the entrance to Petra if you have a car (about 15 min). The room was comfortable, the dinner (not included in the hotel fee) was excellent, and overall the host was really friendly and accommodating, even packing us a breakfast when we had an early start.
Only negative was that dinner wasn't included with the hotel (which was conveyed ahead of time) and the owner came to collect in cash at 10:30 pm...waking us up after a really tiring day. It would have been nice to arrange for payment earlier (perhaps at dinner) but it was a bit of a unique circumstance (we were leaving early and it was the last day of Ramadan, so there were some festivities occurring right after dinner). Overall, the stay was still really good.

Verified reviewClean, guest-friendly hotel. Very nice and helpful owner. Comfortable beds, delicious breakfast. We also ordered a local dinner paid 10 JOD per person. It was prepared by the owner's mother, something amazing. I don't think we've ever eaten such delicious dishes. In addition, grapes and freshly squeezed juice from fruits from their own orchard (JOD 3 per person). We were recommended what to see in Wadi Musa. We felt very good and safe here.

Verified reviewThe staff are super welcoming and friendly. We had some grapes offered to us by the host and it was really delicious. Our room was spacious and really clean. Absolute value for money
The location is a bit far from Petra visitors center. However, it is really great and has amazing views of the town. I recommend if you would like to be away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. However, if you want to be close to Petra you can opt for something else.

Verified reviewThe rooms were quite comfortable and most of all the host and family who own the place gave us excellent service. They not only helped us with pointers for our visit to Petra on the next day but also gave us many recommendations. The dinning area for the breakfast has a really good view and it was quite an enjoyable experience.

Verified reviewThe family that runs the place will make you feel at home. They care dearly about their guests and will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. If you stay here, know that the dinners and breakfasts are cooked by the mom of the family, and she's an exceptional cook. What's more, most of the food is grown in their garden downstairs. On our last night we had a lengthy conversation with the eldest son of the family, about jordanian culture and traditions, which was extremely interesting. The rooms are great and spacious, with comfortable beds, have a mini fridge and the hostel is 12 minutes drive trough a gorgeous road. Last but not least, as the name says the place has a breathtaking view over the mountains that surround Petra. If you have dinner here you'll enjoy a beautiful view of the sunset behind the mountains.
Nothing, all was great!
Thank you ❤️

Verified reviewThe property is off the overcrowded Wadi Musa (Petra), beautifully serene located but with easy access to and direct parking. Its about 9-10 km from the Petra Visitors Center and the road there is well maintained and easy to drive. The Hostel - it really is a Hotel! - is a welcoming and warm Family business and run with absolute kindness and authenticity! The sunsets for the sensational home made traditional dinners are a highly recommended must do!
It really was a bit chilly at all times but bring a sweater and you‘ll be fine. (April Trip)
