How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHad a good stay in Jerash and especially enjoyed meeting other guests. Air conditioning works well. Wi-fi worked well - just make sure you ask for this to be provided. Nice breakfast shared with other guests (hummus, falafel, salad, bread). Within walking distance of Jerash ruins and restaurants.
Difficult to find the entrance to the accommodation as no signs. Parking is on the street. Had to ask for towels and toilet paper to be provided. Bathroom is small which we didn't mind except that shower sprayed directly onto toilet.

Verified reviewBreakfast OK, parking on the street, basic amenities quite OK (air conditioning, electric water boiler, blankets). There is a refrigerator but I have no use it. 10-15 min distance to donwtown and 15-20 to Jarash Visitor Center.
Area is not interesting but this is not a big deal.

Verified reviewHuseein is a wonderful host. We got some tea and a delicious treat upon arrival and he was very warm in welcoming us. The view from the terrace is great! You don't see the ancient city but still beautiful. Room was very big and bed comfortable with warm blankets and a airco which also heated the room. Freshly made breakfast every morning on the terrace, delicious!

Verified reviewThe perfect stay in Jordan, we could talk a lot with Huseein, he offered us some tea with nuts in the evening and the breakfast was incredible!
We are not sure they change the bedsheets after the guests, but otherwise the room was very clean.

Verified reviewThe location was good. Breakfast was tasty (just they put chili on the hummus, so tell in advance if you dont like spicy as we didnt mention and couldnt eat it). The family running it is nice. Internet worked well. We could store our bags for longer then checkout.
The bathroom is smelly, toilet was extremly dirty, there was no hot water at evening and no cold water at morning, like if it would work with solar power, The fridge is old and dirty in the room. There is a kettle, but no cups to drink anything. Take some extra plug extenders with you, cause there is one connector spot for fridge or kettle and there is one further from bed, so you cant charge more devices at the same time. The outside furniture is old, doesnt look comfy to just jump in.

Verified reviewWe were arriving directly from Amman airport, so it was nice to be able to check in so late (nearly midnight). Huseein used a translation app to be able to speak to us, and he made sure we had everything we needed before we went to bed. The breakfast the next morning was very tasty, a typical Jordanian breakfast, and having our breakfast on a sunny terrace was a great way to start our holidays in Jordan. The location, next to the archaeological site, was also ideal for starting our visits the following day.
We didn't sleep particularly well because of noise from the outside from the early morning (cocks crowing, the nearby mosque's call to prayer), but I would happily stay there again and just use earplugs

Verified reviewHussein was very friendly even that he spoke little English we were able to communicate. Very approachable and welcoming. The breakfast was the best that we had in Jordan, that is for sure. The shower was very good and hot, what needed in march when the weather is colder in Jerash
We had breakfast in the terrace and was very cold, but the tea helped. The property is allocated next to a mosque and we were awake very early in the morning by the prayer. The bed sheets were not clean.

Verified reviewWonderful local family business. Seperate entry to floor below where there are 3 different units and an open seating area with nice views of the valley. Very accomodating offered food if needed on arrival. Great breakfast included. Very warm host. Use G Translate and have some fun. Close to N Gate to the site (walkable). Grocery nearby. There is street parking available. Internet is good too. Had a tour of local farm short distance away.

Verified reviewThe view is amazing and the appartment is nearby the city center and the archeological site. There are supermarkets nearby. The breakfast is really really good!
When we entered the appartment there was a dense air of cigarette smoke. When we opened the windows though, the cigarette smoke vanished fast enough, so we didn’t have any trouble with it.
