How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThey apologized in the end and offered help, but it was too late.
I had a confirmed reservation at Jasmine Flower Hostel for my elderly father and his travel companions in a separate booking. Less than 12 hours before check-in, the property canceled the booking without any explanation -- only a short message via the Booking.com portal saying, “Sorry we have to cancel your reservation.” I tried calling multiple times, with no answer. When they finally responded hours later, the explanation given was a burst water tank -- something understandable, but the handling of the situation was shockingly unprofessional. Rather than providing immediate alternatives or even a sincere apology, they responded defensively, accused me of being rude, and claimed I contacted them via WhatsApp -- something I never did and kept insisting on that. They even mentioned their “lawyer” would follow up, which was incredibly inappropriate and intimidating. By the time they offered help, I had already spent hours trying to rebook my family elsewhere late at night. This was a stressful and unnecessary ordeal, especially for elderly travelers. I have never been treated this way by a hotel, especially one operating through a major platform like Booking.com. This was not just a logistical failure, but a complete breakdown in customer care and basic decency. I strongly caution others to consider the risk before booking this property.

Verified reviewExcellent accommodation in Madaba. It is literally 100m from the city center. The rooms are new and very clean. There is even a washing machine if you need to do laundry. If you want to stay somewhere near the airport, this is a good option.

Verified reviewThe place was very clean. There was a huge shared kitchen for three rooms - we had booked two of them and the third one was empty, so we had the kitchen for ourselves. Communication with the owner was perfect, she was waiting for us there on time. I appreciated that all rooms had a fridge and the wifi worked well. The location is central, we parked a few meters before the hotel in a parking place next to a mosque and the next morning our car was still there :) We only stayed there for one night, but I wish we had had more time to explore the city. Near the hotel was a street with many restaurants and souvenir shops.
The windows really did not have any view, we could just see another wall.

Verified reviewBeautiful new and clean place, a flat converted into 3 separate rooms and a share common area with kitchen. Staff super friendly and helpful, reachable if needed. We were offered to use the washing machine as well. I would totally recommend!
Difficult with parking, as it’s the city centre. It’s about 5 mins walk out to on street parking.

Verified reviewHonestly just a perfect "hostel". More like a hotel with a nice common space you might run into people in. The owner/staff are extremely friendly with great English. Code locked doors for easy access, an AMAZING shower (hot, crazy pressure, an actual glass door, etc.), and everything is clean. Wifi is fast, the location is perfect. Street parking or a 30 second walk away at the large mosque parking lot if there's nothing in front. They even have a new washing machine with detergent (free to use) and a drying area with lines and clips in the sun in the courtyard. I can't recommend this place enough. The value for money is insane.
Nothing it's basically perfect. Only note is if you are over 190cm the beds are going to be short. Mid 180s and you'll feel your feet at the end. But it's a minor annoyance at worst, just turn a tiny bit diagonal.

Verified reviewThis place was a dream!! Everything is brand new and so clean and beautiful. Literally wanted to stay more nights just because it was so nice. The bedding was phenomenal. Honestly felt like luxury! And they have laundry which we desperately needed, lol. And the people who own the place were amazing! Helped us with parking, showed us around the town, took us to the roof for an incredible view, and recommended a restaurant that had the most delicious food! And the location can’t be beat!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I would rate it beyond 10 if I could!
