How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewCozy and comfortable apartment inside flat complex close to Dead Sea. I would like to highlight the Madam Nihad approach. Communication before stay, informations about place and surprise with snacks after our long journey from Wadi Rum. The apartment is spacious and sunny with parking place and a huge balcony. You can sit , drink coffee and enjoy views to Dead sea :). I stongly recommend this apartment for its location, comfort and owner kind and careful approach.

Verified reviewThe apartment has a partial view to the Dead Sea. Good sized bedroom and the veranda is lovely. Washing machine worked well and there were plenty of spare pillows and towels. Nihad was always available to support us, without being intrusive. The apartment is simply, but functionally furnished and really there was nothing we missed. Nihad even left welcoming snacks in the fridge for us. As for the resort - it is clean, well maintained and the staff are incredibly helpful. Shout out to Rashid, the lifeguard down at the beach who was amazing.

The staff don't speak english at all. The hours at the restaurant are very odd. Nobody to ask around. Life guard at the Dead Sea coming when he remembered to have a job.Very unprofessional.Not very clean outside.

To be honest and fair regarding the resort, there may have been a misunderstanding. You mentioned this was your first time staying at a resort. There is a significant difference between a resort and a hotel. Samara Resort is a private community where only a few owners rent out their apartments. In this type of setting, guests typically bring their own supplies, food, and other necessities, and the service is largely self-serve. This is why our staff has specific working hours and does not remain on-site for extended periods. Additionally, the resort’s restaurant has specific hours, and it may close if there are no guests, which is quite different from a hotel setting. However, I want to highlight that the rate you received for your stay was for a much longer period compared to the nearby hotel, such as the Marriott, which offers similar amenities. If you had booked at the Marriott, you would have paid at least double the price you paid with us. Throughout your stay, I was always available to assist you and check if you needed anything. There are staff members on-site, and if you had requested anything, I would have ensured that assistance was provided. As for dining options, Samara Mall is just a 5-minute drive away and offers a variety of restaurants open from 10 AM to midnight. Thank you once again for your feedback. There was very little information available about the area. For example it would have been good to have recommendation where to eat, such as at the mall etc.
I’m glad you stayed at my apartment. Regarding the mall and Samara mall with the restaurants, I do inform all my guests that there’s a Samara mall nearby with many dining options. However, I cannot recommend specific restaurants to avoid any perception of bias or marketing. Verified reviewThis is an amazing location, right by the Dead Sea, with access to pools, gym and cafes. There's also a mall next door with more cafes and a small supermarket. We enjoyed all the facilities. The flat itself is spacious, clean, quiet, with views of the Dead Sea. The owner communicated well and we had a perfect stay. Even the cleaner was lovely!

Verified reviewSpacious apartment on the Dead Sea. There is a private beach, a short walk down from the apartment. There is sand and showers and a good amount of mud, for those who want to cake themselves in it. There are a couple of swimming pools, although did not use them as it was too hot and my skin is too pale. They both looked good. Parking was easy.

Verified reviewThe place is really nice, the terrance is big and spacious. Three water pools are also good option for spending time. The beach is small and there are stones in the water so it’s better to take swimming shoes. The kitchen equipment is not enough, there were no staff like chopping board or fresh dishwashing sponge.
