Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom. I had a wonderful stay at Extra Traveller Hostel. The place is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Anas is an excellent host — I also joined him for a tour in Aqaba, which I highly recommend. He can help you organize the rest of your trip in Jordan as well; for example, he booked a fantastic camp for me in Wadi Rum. He’s very honest and always offers great value-for-money packages. Hostel is close to Jett bus station, pretty convenient.

United StatesThe owner, Annas, is a great host. He can arrange everything for you and he is super friendly. Hr arranged my snorkel trip, a boat cruise, and he gave a tour around Amman at night. He also gave food food recommendations. The female dorm was clean. They clean the shared bathrooms regularly too. There are some lockers outside the room but there weren't many people staying so I didn't use them.

This is the second time I've stayed at Extra-Traveler, and I would definitely come again. The hostel is super clean and comfortable, and Anas and Seif go out of their way to make you feel at home. There are two shared bathrooms which are always spotless, and the rooms are comfortable, and have outlets and AC/fans. They also often community events which are a lovely way to learn about Jordanian culture and get to know other travelers. The hostel is also located in a super convenient location- walking distance to most places and just a few minute walk to the JETT bus station. Highly highly recommend staying here.

United StatesAmazing hostel!! The owner is so so kind. The breakfast is homemade everyday and absolutely delicious (I almost never like hotel breakfasts). The WiFi is also great! Good enough to work remotely although it was a bit patchy a few days! Maybe need backup for an important video call but outside of that was able to work no problems! Great location! Wadi rum tour booked through them was awesome!! Highly highly recommend!

United StatesBeds were quite tough so just be prepared for that. Everything else is lovely, though!
Amazing location (near the JET bus office), lovely breakfast of falafel sandwiches, and the hosts are soooo lovely, warm, welcoming, and full of information. They keep the hostel quiet and clean and it's non-smoking and non-drinking so also feels very safe. Strongly recommend!

FranceThe place is lovely. The two brothers that manage the hostel or very nice and did everything to make my stay comfortable, offering tea and even sharing their own meal. They also cooked some pastries in the evening. I had the feeling that I was home and extended my stay. The rooms are quiet with AC, everything for a good sleep, especially if you are tired, as I was :).

Really clean and quiet. Very central location and also conveniently located next to the bus station too. The bed was SOOOOO comfortable. The female dorm was 5 beds but it felt so spacious. Breakfast was tasty. Also staff are lovely. I stayed here because I got the ferry from Nuewba, so I came to aqaba only two nights. Actually, I wished I'd stayed longer so that i could do some scuba diving here because it looks like a great place to do see some wrecks that are accessible and good for OWD level. The hostel can arrange this for you and they quoted a great price, honestly.

MoroccoThe Manager Anas is a good guy and helpful, he made my stay in Aqaba wonderful. He invited me to a delicious lunch even if it's not included in the reservation and let me stay in the hostel after the check-out. The location of the hostel is very convenient, less than 10 minutes walking slowly to the bus station JETT, and close to all the sightseeing places and facilities in Aqaba.

EgyptI booked an overnight tour to Wadi Rum for 70JD and then found out that you can get it for 50JD. I asked Anas about it, and he said the tour company I was going with had a new vehicle. This wasn't correct as it was 20 years old. However, the tent camp was all very new. I loved the trip, so even if I overpaid, it was worth it. Also, Anas said we had to pay 8JD for a taxi to take us to Berenice Beach Club at South Beach. But I got there and found out that the beach club picks up and drops off for free! I would think Anas should know about this but maybe makes extra money on the taxis or at least his friends do. I knocked 1 star off for the above but overall, I'm super happy with everything I did through Anas and the hostel is really pleasant.
Close to the Jett bus station and easy to walk to the beach and around town. Clean and comfortable. Soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Good breakfast. Anas works his butt off from morning to night. I don't know how he keeps track of everyone going and coming. For 105 JD, Anas picked me up in Petra, drove me to the Dead Sea where I could swim, then we returned to Aqaba. I think this was a lot of money but Anas did some nice things to make it worth it. We stopped at a falafel place where he bought us some really yummy falafel wraps. Then, when we came across a group of camels in the road, he stopped so that I could feed them some bread. All the time together in the car allowed me to ask a lot of questions about Jordan and it was really interesting.

First, I would like to thank Anas and his family. The host and family are welcoming and make one feel comfortable. Anas is determined to make your trip go as smoothly as possible. He offers tours, suggest places to eat, shop, and tips on navigating around. He's incredibly helpful and knowledgeable of Aqaba and surrounding areas. He arranged a one night stay in Wadi Rum and suggested a hostel to stay in Petra (close to the entrance). He also helped me book bus tickets. Breakfast is healthy, and good portions. If you want to try local food, Anas' recommendations are on point. The hostel is clean, and the beds are comfortable and very quiet at night.

the warm smiles and genuine hospitality of the staff. It's rare to find a place that combines comfort, cleanliness, and such an inviting atmosphere. The facilities were exceptional—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed and also enhanced my experience by encouraging connections with fellow travelers. The staff truly went above and beyond to make my visit memorable. Whether it was offering insightful tips about local attractions, helping me with logistics, or just sharing friendly conversations, their kindness and professionalism did not go unnoticed. It's clear that they've put thought and care into making the hostel more than just a place to sleep—it’s a home away from home.
