How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location and view, beautiful showers with good water pressure (and good towels!), comfortable beds and the dinner was good too. I really liked the concept of using the clay jugs to refill water in the rooms instead of individual plastic bottles
The breakfast starts a bit too late for me (8am) and no coffee in the room- only tea.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at the Dana Guest House. One of the best experience of our life, all the staff is here to make you feel at home, with authenticity and generosity. The view on the Dana Reserve is breathless, especially as you can even enjoy it from your shower! The home-made diner was amazing with a lot of choice. And Salem was an incredible host, with great advices and always paying attention to us. If you come to Jordan, you should not miss this place !
Nothing, all was above expectations

Verified reviewLocation is spectacular, all the rooms seem to have terraces overlooking the most beautiful mountain view. Rooms are simply furnished, and comfortable. We enjoyed the buffet dinner and breakfast.. Overall, a very special place to visit and to see a new hotel with architecture that fits so well in the natural environment. Makes a great stop before or after visiting Petra as it is only one hour’s drive away.
Since many rooms had shared bath, the only thing to change would be to oil the doors. It was extremely noisy to leave the room in the night, meaning everyone in the room was woken up. I probably would have booked en suite rooms if I had noticed the shared bathroom, so this wouldn’t have been a problem. Only other thing is that the internet wasn’t great in the rooms, and while this may be due to the remote location, it could have been communicated better. For example, there were wifi options that worked better than the one we were told about.

Verified reviewLoved the view!
I understand it was the end of Ramadan but the food was not good - in fact the chicken dish was cold - no warmers were put under the food and we were ready when the food came out of the kitchen. Breakfast and dinner both very disappointing at the price we paid. But worse than the food was the lack of cleanliness in our room! The hotel is very tired and needs a thorough clean. Staff were just not interested or sleeping and no idea what their jobs were. WiFi a shambles too!

Verified reviewGreat location for hiking, perched over the valley below. Rooms, balcony and public veranda both large and fantastic spaces - also view from shower was pretty cool. Breakfast and dinner very generous but also wasteful.
The price was very high for what you got, the service was not good and only seemed interested in add-on charges - extortionate guide fees and transport costs quoted. Communication was bad regarding breakfast and lunch choices and the fact that breakfast was fixed at 8am and not from.

Verified reviewThe location and views from the room are stunning. The food was pretty good. Adjacent shop selling locally made goods is great. Environmental ethic admirable.
The whole place felt like it needed to be loved a little more. It felt a bit like staying in a hostel.

Verified reviewThe view. the staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. The free water from the water fountains.
I think if you can afford the delux room then this property would be okay but if you don’t get the delux room you are paying quite a bit of money for basically a hostel with a view. The shared female toilet door did not have a lock. There was no hand soap. The room was dusty and had ants. The beds were very noisey as well as the air conditioning. Breakfast isn’t great. Dinner is expensive 15JD per person but it is hard to get any information about where else to eat. The balcony also had not been cleaned - cigarette butts and the furniture outside was falling apart.

Very lousy hygiene, bathroom could've used some cleaning, as well as the room.

Verified reviewTop location in the Dana village. This is the most famous place to stay and white beneficiate the monopoly of the place as this property looks more like a hotel. The room are big and the VIEW is the INCREDIBLE!!! Little bonus for the view from the shower. There is also a very nice balcony from the main restaurant to enjoy the sunset. Good and spacious room, with all amenities included such as toiletries, towel, kettle, tea, coffee and you can refill your bottle of water from the self served bottle tank. Bathroom: toiletries provided, towels and good hot water with pressure which is a highlight when you go to Dana like us in December. Lovely staff, very friendly, with a good English.
Too expensive for what is it to be honest.... The room is over 100JOD with breakfast included. Dinner was a buffet with a good selection of food but quality is average for the price. Breakfast was way too basic..... There are more less famous places out there for cheaper and better value for Money ( Dana sunset camp for example was our best stay in Jordan thanks to the staff and the quality of the food for the cheap price)

Verified reviewThe view and the balcony were incredible.
I transferred my luggage to Feynan while I walked, which cost 53JD. I got talking to another group while walking, who had also transferred their luggage at the same time. My luggage was taken with theirs in the same vehicle, so being charged separately felt like a bit of a fleece, as with a lot of things in Jordan, sadly. Shame the hotel didn't split the actual cost of transfers between guests rather than charging everyone separately.
