How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI had a difficult task to choose one of the many campsites in Wadi Rum for my demanding friends. The result exceeded all my expectations! Absolutely wonderful and friendly local people led by a woman from Europe who managed to create an oasis in the desert where we did not want to leave and where we will want to return. Pleasant accommodation, absolutely great cuisine including a traditional and very tasty Bedouin dinner. An unconventional and certainly more interesting all-day jeep tour ending with watching the sunset together made our stay unforgettable. Information about the life of the locals and very useful advice for the continued journey through Jordan were a matter of course. Thank you very much again!

Verified reviewEverything. 1. The owner of the camp is a Poland speaking English very well. She understands you and chat with you like your family in a middle east country. 2. Tents are not tent, they are prefabric so you are kept safe against wind, cold, hot weather or anything. Ypu are always safe. Doors have locks. 3. Open buffet delicious local breakfast. 4. Room views are amazing. Outside the room, the sand is like a red dream. Red fine sands in bare foots, sunset. I have traveled all across the world and loved here most. 5. Jeep safari tours and other activities I wish I would stayed one or two more days…

Verified reviewEverything is perfect, the rooms are very clean and smells amazing. You have a terrance with view over the desert which is amazing! But , on top of the amazing location and accommodation is the hospitality of the people, everyone is kind and very welcoming , happy to answer questions and support with anything needed. We had a great night having a gather around the fire and just spend time with the family and other guests where we were able to learn more about them and their life. Many thanks for the experience and I hope that we will be seeing each other soon! ☺️

Verified reviewWhat an amazing place to experience Wadi Rum. The camp is beautifully located, with a great open space view on desert and rock formations. Ahmed and his family made my stay there an unique experience. The food was delicious, the room was comfortable, with a beautiful view, warm water in the shower. I loved every minute I spent there. The desert trip organized by Ahmed was amazing.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay at Wadi Rum Star Camp! Even in January, it was cozy with warm blankets and evenings by the fire. The 4-hour jeep tour was incredible – the desert’s beauty is beyond words. Ahmad and his brothers made us feel so welcome, and the traditional dinner was delicious. Highly recommend!

Verified reviewThe rooms were perfect very clean spacious great bathroom comfortable bed. Whole camp was very convenient. Hosts super friendly and attending. Food delicious although overpriced in my opinion. I loved the serenity of the surroundings, facilities with seating areas and indoor fire at night.
First of all there was no hot water at all. I only stayed two nights so could survive without it. I find 20 euro for a simple dinner a bit high but you have no choice there. I’m all for eating same dinner (warmed up from previous day) that’s ok but I shouldn’t be charged again 20euro for it. Also after making a booking you’ll receive a warning that if you won’t book a trip with the camp then you will be charged for a pickup from parking area. Which I find a bit strange assuming you have no other option. I did book a trip so it wasn’t a case but felt strange receiving such an ultimatum.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your kind words about our camp, the cleanliness of the rooms, the food, and the friendliness of our team. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the atmosphere and surroundings we strive to create here in the desert. We’d like to clarify a few points to ensure everything is well understood: Meals: All our meals are freshly prepared on-site by our dedicated chef. We never reheat food, and every dish is cooked daily using fresh ingredients. The logistics of transporting food to the village and the camp, especially in such a remote location, significantly increase the cost compared to urban areas. However, many guests have praised the quality and taste of our food in previous reviews, which we believe reflects the effort we put into providing a satisfying dining experience. Bathing Water: Being located in the desert, our water supply is stored in barrels placed on rocks. During the winter months, when the sun is not as strong and temperatures are lower, the water may not heat up enough for bathing. However, we are always happy to heat water for our guests upon request to ensure their comfort. This situation is temporary and only occurs during the coldest winter period. Transparency: Unlike some camps that apply extra charges without notice, we always inform our guests about the possibility of a transport fee. That said, we have never charged this fee and include it only as a precaution in exceptional circumstances. Our goal is to ensure transparency and provide a comfortable experience for all our visitors. Thank you again for your honest feedback. Your input helps us improve, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for another memorable stay. Best regards, The Wadi Rum Stars Camp Team

Verified reviewGreat experience. Ahmad and Lilianna made me feel welcome. Location and communication were great. Comfortable tent with great location. Wadi Rum is a magical place. It's a shame that people are avoiding all middle-east at the moment. I rented a car from Amman and felt safe all the way to Wadi Rum and back driving alone.
Thank you for choosing our camp again. All the best, Al-Sattar Team.

Verified reviewPretty much everything about the camp was amazing. The staff, the food, the facilities, location, etc. If you're looking for a mix or relaxation and activities, then this is the place. Ahmed and his brothers and the chef were extremely accommodating during my entire stay. They go above and beyond to give you an authentic experience and will accommodate any of your needs to the best of their abilities. For the first 2 days, I had 3 other people staying in the camp. After this I was the only one in the camp, however, due to the hospitality of the staff I was made to feel like I wasn't alone, and they made sure my time was spent well. The only tip I will give future travellers is that there is no AC in the rooms. There is a fan, but no AC, so in the summer the rooms are very hot. However, they do offer tents to sleep outside where the temperature is very nice at night. It was explained to me that no camp in Wadi Rum has AC as it is not allowed in the protected region for environmental reasons. So you won't find an AC anywhere else anyway. Overall, it was an amazing experience and was the highlight of my time in Jordan, and I can not recommend it enough. Will definitely be back the next time I come to Jordan.

Verified reviewA truly phenomenal experience! Photos fail to capture the full beauty of the scenery. The tent feels cozy and convenient. The view from the bed is spectacular, cleanliness is top-notch. As for the food, it’s likely the best we’ve had in Jordan. Can't tell much about the wifi because there are way better things to do in the camp. Don't miss out on the jeep tour, it was awesome! Beyond the excellent facilities and activities, what truly sets this place apart is our host, Ahmad and his brothers. Their kind attentivity and generous hospitality made us feel like family. Highly recommended place! Definitely going back!

Verified reviewI really loved the authentic cultural feel of the place. It was deep in the desert away from the main road so you really felt separate from the whole world while still having a high comfort level. Additionally some of the nicest people I have ever met working and staying there.
