How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewOur room was clean and nice, although there was no wardrobe, which might be uncomfortable in case of a longer stay. We appreciated the remote location of the camp, which had a quiet, peaceful atmosphere, and especially the stunning view over the Dana Nature Reserve. The camp was beautifully designed, our hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent, so we can definitely recommend!

Verified reviewtruly magic place - I came back there after 6 years and you know what? the host remembered me! having dozens of guests each day he just asked about my name and told I probably was there already earlier :) you can meet there interesting people from all around the world and spend with them some time both at common meals and on beautiful mountain tours, and almost touch wild animals elsewhere not visible - previously we found a chameleon between cottages, this time there was a friendly fox coming for some food :) special thanks to Mohamed, who will greet you in your language - no matter what country are you from :)

Verified reviewPerfect location with a beautiful sunset view. They also organize various hiking trails in the surrounding area. The breakfast was generous, and the lunch box was for 5 JD. The owner wasn’t very talkative, but he seemed very kind and welcoming. He kept refilling the Bedouin tea during breakfast, which was a lovely touch.

Verified reviewWe loved everything about our stay at the Eco camp!! The staff were so accommodating and lovely. Always offering us tea. With tourism being low right now we were given a free room upgrade and choice of accommodation options. Dinner cost 8 Dinar each and we were fed enough food to feed 6 of us rather than 2!! The food was beautiful!! The camp is so peaceful. We sat and watched the sunset over on the nearby rock after being entertained by some passing by goats. Can’t recommend a stay here highly enough! The room was great and we had no issues. They have a cute lil fox who comes every evening and waits to be fed.

Verified reviewStaying at Dana was a highlight of our whole trip! The view of the valley is out of this world and the hospitality of Mohammed and Ali was incredible. We enjoyed arriving on a cold eve and being warmly welcomed into the cosy communal hut with tea and dinner waiting for us. We heard stories from Mohammed (who is an inspiring man) and enjoyed chatting with other travellers over dinner. The huts were great! Only regret is that I didn't ask for another blanket because it was so so cold at night - different climate from other places in Jordan.
Needed an extra blanket for the really cold evenings

Verified reviewIncredible stay! I have never seen such hospitable and helpful people. Ali and his team made everything in their hands to make us feel at home. They even brought a screen to watch a football match. Special mention to our guides Salah and Mohammed and the skillful chef. Rooms were clean and comfy.

Verified reviewamazing view on Dana mountains and reserve especially during the sunset. Tasty dinner on the terrace and the staff is truly kind. I met there a local French guide, Marie, very skilled, who organized a unique trekking experience in Wadi Ghweir that I strongly recommend.

Verified reviewA delightful surprise, was just an on route to elsewhere overnight stay but will come for longer next time. Yes its elemental but all the more beautiful for it. Mostly because of fantastic staff with charming atmosphere and very good food but also serene scenery. A lovely little sunset tea trek.

Verified reviewThe place is amazing, it is a really calm environment, the view is incredible, perfect for sunsets. The team was helpful, trying their best to ensure that we were not too cold as there was a cold wave when we were in Dana. The dinner is very enjoyable, shared with other people staying in the camp and the breakfast is also nice.
Weather was very cold, there was no hot water in the shower and keeping the room warm during the cold night was a bit difficult, but manageable overall.
