How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

First of all, we thank you for sharing your experience at Al Kawthar Hotel. But we are really sorry that your review and evaluation were not objective and did not match the quality of the facilities and services we provide. This is evident in all reviews, especially the staff who always receive the highest rating. Dear guest, your dissatisfaction was due to the hotel management’s failure to respond to your request, which did not match the hotel’s policies stated on Booking, which you read before making your reservation. Your reservation ended on 9/21 and you were supposed to check out at 12 noon, but you went on a tour in the morning and left your luggage in the apartment locked and kept the key. You were late and caused us great embarrassment and loss due to the pressure of reservations and there were no other apartments available. We sent you a message on WhatsApp that we would give you 3 additional hours for free, but unfortunately you did not respond and you checked out at 6:30. When you requested a 50% discount and we rejected your request, you threatened that you would write a bad review, knowing that the manager gave you a discount of 15 dinars But you didn't like it. We respect and appreciate all our guests and always care about their comfort and the quality of the services we provide

1) Not as per photos and no balcony as stated. 2) Rules not stated on Booking.com, such as not Hookah allowed (although ad stated that there are designated smoking areas), not being allowed to cook seafood, or consume alcoholic drinks. 3) Signs of mould. 4) Asked for a marriage certificate which was weird. 5) Constant food smell from neighbours.

Shisha and marriage certificates are also listed on the booking website as important information (final print). Alcoholic beverages. The location is great, close to all what you need from shops/ pharmacies and not far from the centre. Customer's service is amazing, they are very helpful in all ways. Verified reviewThe staff (Ahmad and Khaled And Abo Saif) is polite and kind, they provided me with everything that was not present in the apartment (hair dryer, iron and ironing board, clothes hanger). facilities and are very good. The apartment is very clean, tidy and identical to the pictures.
The building in general seems to be old and almost completely renovated. The windows are still old, for example, so the sound insulation is very weak in the building, as it is on the main street and annoying car sounds are always heard. The bed's mattress is like wood, very uncomfortable. We noticed ants throughout the apartment, and I think it is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Verified reviewI loved how clean and hotel like it felt. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, there's even a vanity table. The aircon worked fine and we had the perfect temperature. The water pressure in the showers was sufficient and they provided enough towels and shampoo. The wifi was super fast too. I asked for an additional frying pan, washing liquid and laundry detergent and they immediately helped. We didn't know how to operate the TV, and after calling reception, we had someone come sort it in two minutes. The location is great too because there are restaurants, patisserie, shops within walking distance. And a taxi to other areas in Amman is 10-20 minutes away at a cost of 2-4 dinars.
Everything was great.
