I found the mosquitoes pretty bad here and it was also pretty quiet whilst i was there but thats not the hostels fault.

I loved my stay here! Ended up staying 6 nights. Its in a really quiet and safe location, close to the beaches, food and supermarket. Good wifi too. You have everything you need and Stefano and Johnny were both really helpful!

Plumbing situation could be improved. Taps and shower head are old, full of limescale and as a result the water pressure is non-existent. Good for eco use of water, though.

Great clean place in a beautiful setting. Alberto, who was at the time in charge of managing the place was just amazing! In close proximity to a lot of places around where you can just walk.

The mattress was quite thin (I think they may be a bit old and need a bit of a refresh). The room was really hot. There are fans but they don't quite reach the top bunks so it's very hot at night.

It was really close to both Winnifred beach and Boston Beach - easily walkable. Friendly atmosphere too with other travellers. Stefan was really knowledgeable and helped with any and all questions.

Stefano was amazing. He was super friendly and helpful. He cooked Italian pasta for us which tasted amazing and was a great change from all the Jerk.

Excellent location - quick access to public transportation i.e. taxis and mini buses - easily accessible to the beaches and Boston Jerk Centre - The operator - Stefano ensures that everyone is aware of rules, guidelines, policies and anything that a new guest would need to know getting around. Would I revisit Porty Hostel - oh absolutely!

The hostel could do with a little investment and redecoration to make it even more appealing and comfortable.

Stefano who runs the hostel was very helpful, informed and well connected. He knew short cuts to the beach and all about the area. The room was quite comfortable, there's a balcony, kitchen and sitting area. The other travellers were pleasant. It's a small hostel so is quiet, which I liked. It is close to local amenities. I would recommend the hostel and stay again.

Stefano and his son Mateo are lovely people and great company and help while you're staying in the area. He has many tips and local knowledge. The hostel is a really warm, happy, friendly place. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is amazing for accessing all the local beaches and food. Its rare to find hostels like this in Jamaica and this is a really lovely one where everyone just wants to relax and enjoy jamaica! Thank you Stefano and Mateo !

Hostel wasn't very clean, everything was old and worn out, limited kitchenware and no hot water.

Location was good, in between St winifreds and Boston beaches.

Stefano was kind, welcoming, and informative :) he showed us great ways to get around and to the beach, had great tips on what to do, and there was always a positive attitude at the hostel. the best of luck to you friend!

No mosquito nets, therefore TONS of bugs and mosquitos. It was horrible. Dogs barking all night, every night. No running water, had to use buckets to flush toilet. Bed sheets didn’t fit the mattress so we ended up sleeping on the mattress itself every night. Very old equipment. Dirty kitchen, dead cockroach falling out of the closet. All in all a neglected space. It’s been a stressful stay and we feel like we need a vacation now.

Johnny, the house keeper is a very friendly guy. Helpful and sincere. The hostel is close to all the nice attractions and located in a nice Jamaican neighborhood. Close to Winnifred Beach. Large balcony.

Nothing really, maybe a little hard to find so get a sign perhaps.

Very cool hostel run by friendly people. A bit hidden but gives you a really local perspective from the town. Has a kitchen and common balcony. It's a quiet area but enough shops and restaurants are in walking distance. Beautiful nature and beaches are close (20min walk) and you can explore the area by route taxi. Best backpacker spot in the parish.

Stefano very graciously helped me check in in the middle of the night as my flight landed at 2 in the morning. He is very knowledgeable of all the shortcuts to local beaches, and will even walk you there! Plus same day laundry service

Everithing was exellent!

Uncomplicated and caring welcome by the host Stefano, he introduced us in the place, explained about sourroundings and all nearest attractions. He was very kind, Stefano is always ready for a help or to have a chat. Everithing you need as a backpacker is provided. We came in thinking to stay one night and ended up spending 5 night at porty hostel. N.1 hostel in Jamaica!
