How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe have been to this property 9 times now and the staff are what makes our stay so wonderful! Our butler Michelle is wonderful! I can’t sing her praises enough! There was not one thing we requested that she did not make happen! She is very attentive and is so nice! She is one of the greatest assets to this hotel! Peaches, the bar tender is the nicest person and always kept everyone happy and drinks filled! Kirk and Shaneka are the best also! They were constantly making sure we had drinks and food, they came to us at our swim out, the upper pool, and the hot tub. Simone is the best with activities! She kept us laughing and entertained the whole time! She is also an asset to your hotel and Vibe team!! The cook, Daria was phenomenal! She worked so hard everyday and the food was the best on the property!! Really enjoyed the Dazzle Night Party that was for Grand Lido and Hideaway guests only, food was great and so was the entertainment!
It does need some attention to maintenance issues, but every hotel needs constant upkeep. They changed the menu at Armadillo restaurant and it’s not near as good as the old menu! Please bring back the old menu! The ramp and walkways around the Grand Lido pool needs some kind of safety as it is super slick and there was like 6 people that fell due to the slickness. Also need more umbrellas at the sun chairs and around the main pool, there is no way to get out of the sun in the upper pool for those who can’t be in the direct sun all day.

The only thing was that the dinner buffet restaurant at the royalton did not let me into the buffet due to having a tank top on, which I thought was a little ridiculous since we were in Jamaica and everybody wears tank tops (plus it wasn't a fancier restaurant - just casual)

Maintenance issues with room a/c…very hot indoor restaurant seating as well. Marriot needs to focus on more than cost cutting.. they’re most valuable assets there are the employees and they should be treated as such.

Beach party was very good. Views from the room. Liked that it was not a high-rise hotel block but only 3 floors. Selection of drinks. Bath in room.
Overpriced at the salon where I had an okay manicure and pedicure . Disappointed steam and the sauna were not working when we had our hour in the Spa. Unimpressed with the hideaway buffet.
