How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe property terracce view was really nice, especially the sunset view for the sea & Vesuvius. Also has a rooftop terrace with sunbeds for comfort. Kevin (host) is really nice and helpful with recommendations in the area too. Property was also clean.

Verified reviewGreat location away from the tourist hell of Sorrento and only 400 metres from the train station. Very steep walk to the beach but mostly in shade. Kevin is amazing and surprisingly for a Kevin, Italian. So helpful. On top of all that, the view of Mount Vesuvius from the balcony explains how it got its name and it is truly spectacular. If you are considering staying in Sorrento, don’t! Stay here instead. Sorrento is a quick train hop away so easy to get to (as are dozens of other places due to train station proximity and it’s exceptionally cheap with tap-in tap-out ticketing that’s as simple as it gets). There are 3 restaurants right next to the place, a bar and a good shop. Plenty more by the beach if you’re prepared for a hilly walk.
The room was much more green than I can normally tolerate. Like, very green. Very minor issue though to be fair.

Verified reviewWe had a very enjoyable stay at Vesuvio View, our host Kevin was charming and so helpful. His friendliness and willingness to help was so much appreciated. The room was spotless and comfortable and we especially enjoyed watching the traffic chaos from our balcony above! Kevin arranged for our car to be parked in a private garage just 1 minute away and even opened early for breakfast one day when we needed to leave very early for a planned day trip. Thank you Kevin for your hospitality and help, it was very much appreciated.
There was nothing not to like!

Verified reviewWe had a really good time both in the village and in the hotel which was very comfortable. The owner and his partner were attentive and extremely helpful throughout the stay, exceptionally so. The views are stunning both from the bedroom private balconies and the breakfast terrace. Linen changed regularly, of high quality and rooms airy and well ventilated both with doors and A/C.
There is no lift so be aware that the stairs are there, at 77 it was very good for me, and by the end of the stay I am really pleased to report that the Amalfi hills and vales as well as the stairs were absolutely no problem. I recommend that the owners consider adding a savoury element to the stunning traditional sweeter breakfast content for those, like me, who don't have such a sweet tooth.

Verified reviewThe room and bathroom are beautifully remodeled and decorated, using the finest materials to ensure both comfort and style. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a luxurious experience—from the soothing scents to the premium bed linens and high-quality care products provided. Vesubio View is located in the Seiano area of Vico Equense, a charming and less touristy destination that retains the beauty, charm, and authenticity of a traditional Italian town. The locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the area’s genuine appeal. Our host, Kevin, was exceptional—offering great recommendations on places to visit and preparing the most magnificent breakfasts served on a stunning terrace overlooking Mount Vesuvius. Without a doubt, we will return to this little paradise and highly recommend it to our friends!

Verified reviewBeautiful boutique room with great view. Comfy bed, great shower room and extras such as fridge and kettle. Great hosting by Kevin, who is very friendly. We booked car parking, which Kevin helped with on meeting us. Lovely beach club near the B@B is recommended for a rest day….. steep walk down, but worth it.

Verified reviewThe view is spectacular, and the host is very nice. The security is wonderful; we felt very safe.
The walls are thin. If you are a loud snorer, other patrons can hear you. There is no air conditioning in the off-season.

Verified reviewThe hotel is exceptionally clean and well equipped. The view from the private balcony and breakfast terrace is outstanding. Location is perfect - I counted 4 restaurants within a 5 minute walk, there is a deli and small supermarket downstairs, and 10 minute walk from the train station. Pompeii is about 35 minutes by train, Sorrento about 10. The real star is Kevin - the host! Very polite and willing to go the extra mile for all his guests. So attentive and kind, and he has great recommendations for the area. I would, without hesitation, book this hotel again if I came back to the area.
Nothing - it was perfection

Verified reviewThe view from our balcony was unbelievable! We had a full view of Mt Vesuvius rising above the sea. Kevin was an amazing host; friendly, helpful and very accessible. The breakfast each morning was extensive and included way more items than was expected! The room was super clean with a walk in shower and plenty of towels. Snacks were even left for us as a welcome treat. One morning we had an early tour and Kevin offered to make us a box lunch. Each morning it was lovely to have breakfast on the large balcony outside the beautiful breakfast room. Kevin made us coffee drinks by order for breakfast. There is a deli/supermarket on the corner as well as two excellent Italian restaurants very near by. We tried all three of them.
Nothing. It was sooo fun staying there. We loved walking about 12 min down to the train each morning...only 3 stops away from Sorrento.

Verified reviewVesuvio View B&B is pretty much everything you could wish for when visiting the region. The location is convenient (we were by car). The room was very comfortable, very clean and everything we needed was there. We rented a parking box, which was a few meters away from the building. Breakfast was simple but very good and always prepared with love. We ate on the terrace with an amazing view of the sea and Vesuvio. The property is kept very clean and cosy at all times. Last but not least, Kevin our host was wonderful. He is friendly, hospitable and always has a good tip or recommendation for restaurants and other places. If or when we go back, we will certainly stay here again. Thank you
