How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewwant to be honest about my stay in this apartment. First, we were charged €50 for arriving after midnight. Giuseppe (I'm not sure what his role is) was extremely pushy upon our arrival — we were being messaged every 15 minutes asking where we were and when we would arrive. Even though I had written that we had landed and were waiting in line to pick up the car, he kept messaging us, which was very stressful. We had been informed that the street leading to the apartment was narrow, but no one told us it was extremely narrow. It is essentially a pedestrian zone, accessible only to scooters and very small cars like a Fiat 500 or Panda. It’s also hard to walk on because one section is very steep and has a noticeable incline. As for cleanliness — the place was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was included (a croissant and coffee), which was served every day without variation. 😃 In conclusion, while we appreciate the cleanliness and the effort to provide breakfast, the lack of clear communication about access and the pressure upon arrival significantly affected our experience. I hope this feedback will help improve communication and make future guests feel more welcome and better prepared.

Verified reviewThe apartment was clean, spacious.
The location is impossible to stay. Very far from city centre, approachable by very steep, very narrow road, even local taxis won't go. NO SHOP, NO RESTAURANT nothing anywhere within 5 km. Even if you have own car, driving up the last 1 km is a nightmare. We went nd realised that we have to starve, as no supermarket nearby. We availed their taxi, but didn’t tell us to buy provisions for cooking. Giuseppe, the rude SOB refused a glass of water. In spite of having paid for 3 Nights, we came away to stay in Naples. They refused even partial refund. STAYING HERE IS JUST A NO NO

Verified reviewVery clean and spacious accommodation which we do appreciate, of course.
This property is irresponsibly presented on Bookings.com because of what is NOT said: - no public means of transport to the actual property AT ALL makes this inaccessible, and quite frankly dishonest by omission - no means of payment on site except for cash; this is an outdated practice and places additional security risk on tourists - no access to buying even a bottle of water without negotiating a very steep and narrow road that even local taxis refused to enter! - no person present on site to offer assistance; when Gaetano was approached via this website, his response was defensive, harsh and rude. - the impression created was that only tourist money matters, NOT their wellbeing or care (unlike the many other responsible hosts presented on Bookings.com) - even local residents are disapproving of and embarrassed by the experience of tourists in the area. This can be verified, please contact me for more information. - Due to these circumstances, we left early (spent 2 nights of the 4 that we had had to pay for up front). TOTAL LACK OF CARE OR UNDERSTANDING DROM THE STAFF when a refund was requested. We have already put HONEST reviews up wherever possible, including social media. We hope to warn other tourists so that they too will not have their holiday spoilt by inconsiderate and GREEDY people. We praise where praise is due (see reviews of other accommodations throughout Italy), but what's fair with a fair. Let's see how professional this business is capable of being...

Verified reviewRoom was fine
Location shocking. NOT 1.2 miles from centre., much further. . Dark, very steep walk up a back path in the pitch black.. Taxi won't take you because of location and cars can't fit up the road to the property as it's too narrow and when we did manage to get a taxi it took us nowhere near and cost over €100 The cost was less than other places but definately not worth it. Don't usually leave reviews but location so out of the way. Luckily we had only booked 2 nights

Verified reviewThe property was very clean and comfortable. Lovely access to shared kitchen. Nice to have fresh breakfast delivered daily. Apartment was lovely and clean and fresh. Our host was also super easy to communicate with. Very nice and accomodating
Distance from city centre, was very difficult. If you have a car, this property would be perfect. However if you are on foot, like we were, we found it way too far to enjoy Sorrento for what it is. It’s a very steep ascent/descent to anywhere you want to go, sadly could not experience the city how we had hoped.

Verified reviewHosts were amazing and so kind. Very clean and cute spot, lovely garden and lots of natural light. They had breakfast and coffee for us every morning which was wonderful.
Far walk from town, would suggest a rental vehicle.

Verified reviewRoom was lovely. Bathroom was spacious, clean, and there was plenty of hot water. Hosts were friendly and communicative.
Would not advise location if unable to rent a scooter. To get to the B & B had to walk uphill for about 40 mins, climbing an elevation of 666ft.

Verified reviewThe property & location was stunning. A little out of sorrento, very high up the hills, so you'll need to rent a scooter. Ludovica & Gaetano were lovely hosts & very accommodating to my partner & I while we were there. Very comfortable bed & aircon worked great. The location seemed 'too far' at first, but we found the most beautiful restaurants & people that high up in the hills that you just wouldn't meet closer to the city centre.
When you went to sit out the back, there were a lot of mosquitos no matter what time of day. Although there is a stove top in the photos it's not in use so that it doesn't smell out the shared cooking/living area. There were also no cooking utensils other than basic knife, fork, spoon, so I just bought my own oven tray & a large knife from the supermarket & made do with preparing meals at the property.

Verified reviewThe property itself is virtually brand new, spacious and comfortable. And is in a very peaceful location. It was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of staying in the centre of town…especially when wanting a good night’s sleep!! Or just looking for some peace and quiet.
The location is a bit tricky to get too due to the terrain and distance from the town centre, however I highly recommend hiring a scooter to get around. If you have scooter, then it’s no problem at all 😊

Verified reviewThe room was big, nice, very clean and modern. The bathroom was modern, clean and comfortable. The shower was good. The bed was good.
It was difficult for me to get there. The roads are very narrow and very steep. The lemon garden could not be used and there is no view. The breakfast consisted of a croissant, jam, Nutella and a small espresso, which was rather a poor breakfast. The room has not been cleaned during the whole stay.

Verified reviewThe host was extremely helpful, with everything we needed, and helped us get our suitcases up to the house. The house is new, and in immaculate condition. Our stay in the house was comfortable with a large bathroom. The kitchen facilities are brand new.
The house is set high on a hill, and if you don't use your car, expect to walk 35 minutes down and up hills, to find any shops, or hire a scooter. If you do have a car it must be the size of a Fiat Panda or smaller, to get to park on the premises, else street parking is available with a 10 minute walk from the house.
