How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe hotel was clean, stylish, and very comfortable. The bed was cozy, and the room had great natural light. I also really appreciated the location—it was close to major attractions but still quiet at night. It’s very close from a major train station and a ton of bus tops which is very helpful. Each room has their own bathroom attached, and the bathrooms are maintained nicely and throughly. The host is a highlight of the trip, Rohan makes sure that as a customer all your needs are met. The hotel location on Via Giovanni GioLitti has been around since 2018 to 2019 and Rohan understands the history and the culture around the hotel and gave great recommendations in the area. All in all a 10/10 experience, I would love to come back soon !
Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like. Everything met or exceeded my expectations. Rohan was a nice host and is super gracious when it comes to the customers needs—he was super attentive during my stay and had great communication!

Verified reviewIt's not a comfortable staying but just one night so i accepted. the room is not clean especially the bed and pillow has some bad smell, it's not a standard hotel as expected, but a dirty flat with 3 bedrooms. And not easy to checkin, the hotel is inaccesible. You have to contact the hotel in advance. I wait the hotel guy for over 30min to open door for me. I was suprised that roma have so many inaccessible, bad and experience hotels. In other cities in italy, it's very good experience to checkin, but in roma it's quite different.

Verified reviewThe location was good being accross from Roma Termini making it easy to jump on the train to the airport.
When we arrived at the property—three hours after the standard check-in time—we had not been provided with an access code and were unable to enter. This left us stranded outside with our 4-year-old child, waiting to hear back from the host. Eventually, we managed to get in touch with someone who let us into the property. They mentioned they would return in 15 minutes to see us but did not specify the purpose of the visit or inform us that we needed to complete check-in and pay the city tax before a certain time. Later, they called and said they would return around 8 PM. However, since we only had one night in Rome, we planned to head out and informed them we wouldn’t be there. We were then told that if we didn’t return before 11 PM, we’d be charged an additional €30 for late check-in—even though we had arrived at 5 PM and it was not our fault that no one was available to complete the check-in process when we were first let in. Were we really expected to wait in the room for three hours with our child until someone was available to complete the check-in? We ended up returning just to check in and pay the tax before heading out to dinner, but by that point, the experience had already negatively impacted our evening. We couldn’t relax and were forced to walk back and forth with our child, just to avoid an extra charge for something that was not properly organised by the property. Additionally, the room was not as nice as the photos, and the bedding was dirty. The only positive was that complimentary water was provided.

Verified reviewThe location was convenient. The bed was comfortable. Free water bottles. The host was nice.
The bed sheets were dirty, there was no blanket on the bed and when I asked for a blanket we were told “tomorrow” then told the blanket was under the bed, the bathroom was dirty, the toilet leaked so we had to keep turning the water main tap on and off. It’s in a shared apartment so people were loud in and out all hours of the night/morning, walls are paper thin so you could hear people doing the deed… people kept leaving the main door to the apartment wide open which made me feel unsafe and worried for my valuables. There are a lot of homeless people hanging around the outside of the property.
