Charming old house located on top of the hill. The room we got was quite dark but it was a blessing during the heatwave - the stone walls are so thick that there is no need for AC, you just have to remember not to let the hot air in during the day. Large pool with sunbeds will certainly stop the less ambitious tourists from venturing further away. If you can resist the pool the area is full of picturesque places worth seeing and Florence is an hour away either by car or train (with the train station within walking distance).

A review, mostly bad. A mixed review…I know this area and had a wary type of feeling when I booked this reservation. I can only tell you about the unit I was in…it was the closest to the village and on 2 floors. ( on the right side of the property) Not sure why I was assigned that unit. It seemed as though there was only one other couple there in another independent unit. The place is interesting , but from my unit, no work has been done to update it in years and years. The first thing I noticed was the strong smell of mold….the first floor, kitchen area was very shabby…not even with explaining. I spent as little time there as necessary. The fireplace was in this room and I didn’t use it…no coziness to be found there. The 2nd floor was lovely, a great bed and antiques…I liked this floor very much…scarce plugs and no chair for the desk but I like this room….The bathroom was a nightmare! At first I thought, Oh great, a bath tub, but then…how do you use that shower? When I tried, water was everywhere…as I said, no updates in years and years…no shower curtain, no glass barrier. I have stayed in many places in Italy and I have never seen anything worse as far as bathroom, the mold and the kitchen. I almost left the first night. I decided to stick it out. The woman that checked me in was nice enough, but it does not make up for the crappy accommodations. As I said, I have no idea what the other units are like. The worst for me was there was NO internet in that unit. The box was too far and they have not upgraded. To use the internet I had to go into a main room and was offered to sleep there…but it was uncomfortable so I went back to my moldy unit. The woman acted surprised the internet did not work in the unit… The final insult was when I left. I gave the woman the keys and told her about the shower and she knew about the wifi…she pretended like it was all news to her and then drifted off into the back yard…I am sure she has heard it a million times and does not care…

Incredibly peaceful, traditional Tuscan buildings, and very big swimming pool. Vicchio is within walking distance (about 20 minutes to the square with restaurants and 30 minutes to the station for access to Florence).

The whole estate is very beautiful. Surrounded by nature, very relaxing, every apartment has it's own corner in the beautiful backyard so everyone has privacy. Pool and pool area are big and surrounded by greenery, perfect place to relax. At a walking distance to supermarket, restaurant and train station. I was a bit worried about lack of AC because it was in the middle of August heat wave, but as soon as we stepped in the apartment we realized we won't need it, thick stone walls kept it very cool.

Some dust and cobweb here and there, but we didn't mind it, for us it was just the character of the old county house. I personally didn't like the fixed shower head, but it could be just me, as I'm not used to it.

Great location for access to the autostrada and 15-20 minutes walk into Vicchio. The pool was great with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas for shade. Nice outdoor space for dining. Typical rustic decor. No aircom but didn't expect any. Enjoyed our stay.

Lovely rustic villa and pool with adequate facilities. Olivia is a very kind and caring host.

Could use air conditioning but we were staying just after the heatwave so it was bound to be hotter than usual.
