Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe traditional Italian breakfast was excellent, but some cheese and tomato would really make a difference.
This was the best guest experience we’ve ever had. Saveria and Francesco were the greatest hosts, they managed to solve every minor problem we’ve had, gave us tips to seize the opportunities of the neighborhood. They are extremely helpful and friendly. They also let us let us exercise our terrible Italian when talking with them. We really enjoyed listening to their stories about the “lucky room” and the elevator. The room was spacious, light and cozy. Next to the palazzo there is a fantastic local cheese store, we discovered. Meta is also a fantastic spot to stay in Amalfi region as it is absolutely not crowded but clean. We can’t wait to come back someday!

IrelandWould be good to have a lift for guests as the stairs are a bit steep and my sister is special needs so it was a bit difficult on the stairs.
Palazzo sassi was lovely. Great location. Less than 10 minutes walk to the beach. It was very clean also. The parking was down the street and just a note that the streets to get in and out of parking were very narrow so keep in mind if hiring a big car. I would definitely book again. Saveria was very sweet also.

United KingdomWe had a lovely time here. The location in Meta is lovely, it’s around 13 min walk from meta station and about a 5 min walk to the beach. Only 2 stops from sorrento so really easy to head there whether in the evening or for the day. The hosts were so nice, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

SwedenThe room was right next to a road that had a lot of traffic, particularly motorcycles, through the night.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Not too far from a nice beach... although there are lots of steps to go up and down.

Great located property in Meta! Beautiful features in the building, and parking nearby……….which is essential!!! Saveria and Francesco were very helpful on arrival, and made us feel as though we should stay longer!!!

Our room was wide and stylish, spacious and with all facilities. Fresh Italian style breakfast. Great location, just 5 mins walk from the beach. Saveria is top notch, she makes you feel like home and gives you a warm genuine service. She provides any tips about the area and she’s always ready to help for anything you need! Her cappuccino - the best in town :)

Dominican Republic-There are not elevators to go to the rooms -We booked the room via Booking and it wasn’t the same option/pictures that we saw on the website Be sure to book the right choice! In the end we got an upgrade and the room was really good -The hotel is not in Sorrento downtown area; it’s located in “Meta”, which is about a 15 minute distance from Sorrento by train after you get to the Meta station. -The hot water wasn’t working one of the days -This is Italy, expect to go up and down a lot of stairs
-Kind and friendly staff Saveria and her husband are a wonderful couple! They’ll make sure you have a great vacation and will give you the best tips -The breakfast area is cozy and the food options good enough to start the day -We got an upgrade and have the opportunity to enjoy a coffee in the private balcony with good view of the sunset

A beautiful property in a very good location in Meta. The hotel has very good transport links via bus to both the Meta station and to Sorrento proper via bus and train. Meta itself is underrated, the beach there and Tico Tico restaurant are wonderful. The hosts at Palazzo Sassi are fantastic, and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was nice, spacious, and very well furnished. With a lovely little balcony and street view. Breakfast was of the typical Italian style - Colazione dolce (sweet breakfast) - and was very enjoyable. Coffee was also very nice.

GermanyThe shower was a bit small and once in a while the traffic in the street was a bit noisy.
We had a room with a huge rooftop terrace facing the sea. The interior of the room was very nice and charming, with a small fridge. The bed was very comfortable and the views of the sunset amazing. Our host Saveria was so friendly, warmhearted and helpful. She gave us tips for hiking tours and prepared coffee every morning. I forgot my iPhone charger and she mailed it to our home address right on the next day after our departure. Thank you🙏🏼

AustraliaNot a massive deal, but another Power point for charging devices would have been handy.
Lovely accommodation in a little village - a short bus or train ride from Sorrento. Our hosts were responsive and helpful. We chose to stay here for its proximity to Sorrento (and Capri), as well as to Pompeii. Really enjoyed our stay. We dined at a fabulous restaurant down on the Meta foreshore - we enjoyed it so much we went back the following night..

CanadaAbsolutely Nothing ... Everything we did, ate and Drank from Naples to Sorrento, Positano, The Amalfi Coast, & Revello ... was Excellent ... We have an Amazing Vacation.
To start ... the breakfast was Very Good and the Capichino's were Excellent. Assunta made the Best one that I had tasted in Italy...!!! The Room was spacious and Very Clean. Maria and Assunta ensured that all you needs were answered. The Beach and a handful of Restaurants were only 10 minutes away by foot, and All the Restaurants we tried were Excellent. Tico & Tico, Lido Mare and The Golden Beach Restaurant were the Best in my opinion ... I would definitely recommend the Perfiterole with Chocholate ... Extremely Decadent... I forgot to mention ... there is a Cheese/Wine/Assorted Meats and wine Shop with Amazingly Friendly people that speak English, Only 4 doors down from the Hotel... The Only tip I have, would be to bring Water Beach Shoes for the Beach, as all the Beaches are small Lava Rocks...

United StatesThe air conditioning was shut down at night. The fan would blow but the cooling was off. It was super hot, 99 degrees Faranheit, while we were there which made sleeping uncomfortable. Also, the hot water was very sparse at night as well. Showers were 90% cold.
The room was large and clean. The building was beautiful and situated close to the beach and bus stop. The staff were friendly and nice.

United KingdomNothing we loved everything
Having been before to Sorrento and Amalfi coast we decided to stay somewhere away from the hustle and bustle. Meta is a quaint and lovely small town and palazzo Sassi did not disappoint. On arrival we were met and shown to our room the decor was beautiful and the palazzo has been well kept. Our room was large, spacious and a balcony overlooking lovely gardens there was also the option to spend time on the fantastic roof terrace with lovely views of the sea and mountains. The beach was a few minutes walk and here there were also lovely restaurants. An excellent bus service which takes you to neighbouring Sorrento and beyond picks you up outside and it is very regular until late at night. There is also the train station a short walk away. The staff were excellent they went over and above assisting us with arranging private transfers but a special mention to the lovely lady who looked after us each morning, the breakfast was a lovely continental typical Italian style and even on the odd day of a lie in she was offering to go make us coffee and get us some food, despite being well past the breakfast time, again another lovely touch. I would highly recommend this place when discovering the coast.
