How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was great, very central to where things are happening. The host allowed us to drop our bags early due to the early arrival of our flight.
It had construction happening during our stay that we were not made aware of. The entrance pictured to the apartment is covered in scaffolding and dirt and dust from construction. The windows in the room were able to be opened however your view was then scaffolding and dust sheets.

Verified reviewGood location, plenty of space and receptive host. We arrived early and were able to drop off our cases at midday and enter the property at 2 instead of 3pm which was great as we were really tired after a super early flight. The host responded quickly to WhatsApp messages when the power went out (related to the heatwave I believe, nothing to do with the apartment itself) and the apartment was clean and functional. The best part was the location - right in the heart of Naples, close to restaurants, shops, metro and rail.
Building works were ongoing outside which were noisy from 7.30 every morning throughout our stay - we were usually up early so it wasn't a big deal, but you might struggle if you wanted a lie in. The apartment is also on the second floor which meant a lot of stairs which were challenging with suitcases or shopping bags (everywhere looked to be similar nearby though, so perhaps tricky to avoid!).
Thank you for your review and for appreciating the location and our availability. We’re glad you could check in early and found the apartment clean and functional. As for the external works, we always send a detailed video of the location before arrival, where the scaffolding is clearly visible — it’s just a shame that, although guests often confirm they’ve watched it, we’re never quite sure if they actually do 😉 Regarding the stairs: yes, we confirm there’s no elevator, but that’s pretty much the norm in Naples' historic center. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), we haven’t yet figured out how to make the stairs disappear at check-in — but if we ever do, you’ll be the first to know! :-)

Verified reviewThe Location was fantastic!!
There is no lounge. Too many stairs to climb. Neighbours were very noisy at night. Fridge wasn’t working and there were shortage of toilet paper and shampoo and shower gel is of poor quality.
Dear, thank you for sharing your feedback. However, we would like to clarify a few points: from the photos and the description of the property, it is clearly stated that there is a kitchen, and there is no mention or indication of a lounge. As for the apartment’s amenities, we provide everything necessary for a short stay; of course, any additional needs can be managed independently by the guests, considering that this is a holiday apartment and not a hotel with daily cleaning and linen changes. Regarding the quality of the soap, we would like to understand on what basis such a statement was made, as we use standard products suitable for short stays. Lastly, we regret to note that reviews like this often follow the refusal of discounts or unjustified requests, resulting in comments that do not reflect the reality or the service actually provided. We remain available to the readers of this review for any further clarifications. Best regards,

Strong smell of mould
Dear stephane we are truly sorry for what you wrote because it absolutely does not represent the reality especially for the smell of mold that has been online for almost 1 year and no one has ever written it, personally I am still sorry but the report for bad behavior was necessary in order to guarantee safety and management of cleaning, you ate in the beds, broke accessories in the bathroom and kitchen but above all you left everything open to the elements ... a behavior, for the service that we offered you unacceptable. We are aware that yours is a personal judgment and we will make up our minds. To all readers, we are always available to collect any complaints in order to resolve them in the best possible way.

Verified reviewGreat location in the historic section of Naples, close to main attractions. Easy access to shops, restaurants and bakeries. The apartment is in a fairly quiet alley which was conducive to a quiet night's sleep. We, two couples, enjoyed having three bedrooms, each a good size with comfortable beds and sufficient closet space. Both bathrooms were also of a good size. The kitchen serves as the gathering spot as there is no living room area. This was not an issue given that we spent little time inside the apartment as we were out exploring the city. Our host was most helpful with check in and arranged for a taxi pickup at 3:45 am for an early flight we had out of Naples.
There were problems with the hot water so showers were cold with only intermittent warm water. One issue we discovered upon our arrival is that there are 60 steps up to the apartment and no elevator. It kept us in shape for sure.

Verified reviewThe apartment is located in an old palace- very thick walls with stone steps. It is a very unique, interesting, and beautiful entryway. The inside had everything we needed and was very clean. Everyone in our group loved how comfortable the beds were- supportive, but not too firm. Many places have mattresses that are far too soft for my liking, but not here. Perfect mattress that helped me sleep well and recover from all of the walking we did. Simona, our remote host, bent over backwards to ensure we had a pleasant experience. She helped me to more quickly understand the process to gain entry to the apartment (once I learned, it was ‘no problem’). She helped us in getting taxi service. She even offered to help us with the unfortunate occurrence of lost luggage during our trip over from the US. She was very attentive to any request I had. Great host!
One small inconvenience-some (not all, just some) of the charging USB ports on the receptacles did not work. Small thing and it’s the only “negative” I have.
thank you so much Donald, it was really a pleasure to have hosted you 💗

Verified reviewA nice place to spend a couple of days. Very centrally located, easy to walk around the city or take the metro. Spacious for a big family and with basic amenities. The host has been very accommodating, even though we never met IRL. Nonetheless, everything went very smooth.
Well, it’s not really a minus point, but it is good to be aware that the apartment is located in an old palazzo which is undergoing (?) a renovation on the outside. The apartment itself has received a basic renovation à la IKEA, so nothing luxurious really. And it comes with all the cons of an old building, meaning for instance some foul odor from the sinks or very uneven supply of hot water. But once again, nothing really disturbing if you only stay for few days.

Verified reviewWe did not have enough time to fully appreciate this apartment, and look forward to going back. It's centrally located with great restaurants nearby. Entry into this apartment was easy and keyless. Situated in a former palace, this apartment felt like a fortress. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and furniture. We were in Naples for just one night--which was not enough to enjoy what this wonderful city and apartment has to offer. Our hosts, Andrea and Simona, was extremely communicative and helpful. A few hours before we were to check-in, we were told that water from one of the showers wasn't flowing well, and that a handyman was on property fixing it. They wanted to let us know that the handyman would fix the shower and then a cleaning lady was coming back in to put finishing touches in the bathroom. By the time we arrived, everything was spotless. But even if they had still been in the apartment, we still would have been able to access it and deposit our luggage. I truly appreciate our hosts being so communicative and offering contacts for taxis and luggage deposit after check out. Thank you for a terrific stay.

Verified reviewGreat location! Near interesting monuments, restaurants, bars and within a 10 minute walk from metro stations dante and duomo. The apartment was clean and looks exactly like the pictures. It is a quiet place, in which you can sleep any time of the day or night. I would definitely visit again!
The only thing i would point out is the long staircase to the second floor in which lies the apartment. I would not recommend the place to older people or families with babies.

Verified reviewThere was nothing not to like! The apartment is brand new with large bedrooms and bathrooms. Fantastic location in a bustling restaurant and bar area but couldn’t hear any noise in the apartment building. The property owner was super helpful with everything, even helping us to arrange a taxi for our early morning departure.
Absolutely nothing not to like.
