How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI stayed in the single room which was lovely with a balcony. Room was spotlessly cleaned every day, wide variety of buffet breakfast available. Location very good, bus stop very close. I used the bus to go between all the villages so you didn’t need to worry about finding parking. They also have an area outside to sit and relax, spa and heated indoor pool which I used every afternoon after a hike. Would definitely stay again.

Verified reviewThe Ghiorgi familly, the owners were very involved in the small hotel activity, they were nice, friendly and always wanted to help you accodate better. The fact that they do not have a working restaurant in the summer evenings is not a problem, there are plenty of options that you can reach in less then 5 mins walking distance. Very good location to use as a hiking “station” if you come by car. They also have a easy to work EV charging station, great SPA and a fabulous bar that you can use in the evening for a night cap.

Verified reviewI’ve never written a hotel review before - but feel I have to for this one. Had a brilliant stay from start to finish. Very welcoming and friendly staff, who go out of their way to help you. Owners up front and present the whole time. The BEST European breakfast I have ever had - honestly everything you could possibly think of. Lovely garden, wellness area and brilliant room with a balcony. Even loved the ‘duvet and towel art!’ All the little extra things - like being offered free cake and bar snacks and advice about where to walk. Thank you for a fabulous stay - as a solo traveller it really makes a difference.
Nothing!

Verified reviewEverything about this hotel was wonderful…luxurious, modern, quality! The attention to detail was incredible, everything has been well thought through and the effort that has been put into making your stay a comfortable, relaxing and unforgettable experience is faultless. We particularly loved how personal and helpful the staff were, the breakfast was amazing (no expense spared), the homeliness of the place (candles lit every evening & beautiful soft furnishings) and of course we loved the pool and spa area. Every inch of the hotel was impeccably clean, we enjoyed every minute of our stay, what a fabulous way to finish off our Italy tour.

Verified reviewIt’s a family-ran hotel and you can really feel it - everybody is very attentive and makes all guests feel special. The breakfast was excellent, we also enjoyed the fantastic SPA - spacious, clean and well-maintained. We couldn’t wish for a better location - we visited in summer and it was very convenient to get to the trails. We visited other towns in the valley and we liked Selva the most - so you can stop searching and go book Laurin for your next stay!

Verified reviewWe had a splendid stay at The Laurin. The room was nice, modern and spacious. The owners were always around and were very friendly and helpful. The staff was very engaged, friendly and supportive. Breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of local ingredients. The wellness and pool are very nice and well equipped. The garden is not too big, but ideal to relax outside. The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the Sella, Seceda and Alpe di Siusi area of the Dolomites. We also got good hiking advice from the hotel staff.

Verified reviewLaurin Small and Charming Hotel truly lives up to its name — and then some. Tucked away like a hidden gem, this family-owned boutique hotel blew us away with its warm hospitality, thoughtful touches, and elevated experience that rivaled any 5-star resort we’ve ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. We had planned to head to Ortisei for the cable car and not only did the staff provide clear directions, they also handed us complimentary bus passes and a handful of local tips that made all the difference. The next morning, they remembered us and followed up on our plans at breakfast — a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that you simply won’t find at a chain hotel. Speaking of breakfast… it was glorious. A stunning spread awaited us each morning, featuring what felt like 24 different types of marmalades, locally sourced eggs, fresh breads, and everything beautifully presented. Every bite felt intentional and delicious. Another standout was their welcome aperitivo night — a lovely and unexpected surprise. They served prosecco and small bites to encourage guests to mingle with one another and the hosts. It made the experience feel even more personal and special. The hotel itself is the perfect balance of modern and cozy. It was impeccably clean, stylishly updated, and yet still retained that homey, welcoming feel that only a small family-run hotel can offer. In short, we felt completely spoiled — like we were staying at a luxury hotel but at a very reasonable price. Laurin is a rare find, and we feel lucky to have stumbled upon it. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
nothing other than it was about a 15 min car ride from the main city of ortesi but still very easily accessible

Verified reviewThe hotel has a great location. It's only a 7 to 10 min walk to the main square. Shops, restaurants and Gondolas are close. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. We heard them converse in 3 languages Italian, German and English. Our deluxe room was spacious and had a small balcony. The beds were very comfy and we slept well. The breakfast is amazing. Usually, I'm not a big breakfast person but there are so many delicious treats to choose from you want to try it all. We are lactose intolerant and they have a different milk-alternatives to choose from. We enjoyed the sauna and pool area which are a wonderful relaxing way after a long hike. They have a pool table and we'd have played if we'd have more time.
Our room #40 was right next to the elevator and we could hear voices. The room is close to the road and once we opened the window at night we could hear traffic in the morning. During the night it was fine because it's a very quiet road. It was okay for the night we stayed there. However if I'd stay longer I'd ask for a room away from both.
