How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLove the breakfast and the location. We also loved that it was in a real Italian home so we could see what it’s like living there.
The beds were okay. Could use a better mattress.

Verified reviewI’m so much happy I booked this place on my way from France to Italy. It surpassed my expectations. It’s like you spend a night in a flat of your beloved Italian friends. The interior is full of history and unique pieces, in the morning you have a breakfast on a beautiful terrace. Also the town itself is incredible. Breakfast is tasty, bed clothes is super clean, bathroom is great. The guys who welcome you and make breakfast are very friendly. Please keep in mind that you will be charged for late check in.

Verified reviewA nice little town with a great beach and a really nice pizzeria nearby. The beds were pretty comfy.
The "hotel" was located in a extremly unexessible place in the old part of town. Nothing could have prepared us for the amount of stairs we had to take (with luggade). The employee was not very friendly, he hardly said 5 words in broken english (we were assured that the staff can understand english), but he did help us with luggage, so thats a plus. The rooms were so dusty we feared of alergic reactions, and were extremly over-filled with Stuff. To the point of hoarding. Theres a motion tracked camera in the common area, so if that freaks you out be aware. We also could'nt close the roof windows. But the worst thing will have to be the actual sleep. There was a creepy musicbox music playing in irregular intervals in one of the rooms. As well as someone trying to open the locked room doors at around 2 to 3 am. Suffice to say we got out of there REALLY quick in the morning. So no idea if the breakfast was any good.

Verified reviewGreat views from the balcony.
This property is in the old town and not easy accessible by foot with a large suitcase, there are lots of steps up to the top of the old area (if carrying an injury, get a taxi). Upon arrival at the property you will have to carry your luggage up 3 flights of narrow stairs (no help provided by the host). The two rooms were in the roof area of the building and are in need of some TLC. Our room smelt of cigarette smoke. The breakfast consisted of mostly sweet pastries and was in the now overgrown courtyard. There was no tea available and the host could not provide hot water for use with our own teabags. Room costs (in cash) were asked for upfront by the host. The images of the property are outdated and need to reflect the current state. We asked the host to order us a taxi back to the train station. The taxi did not arrive so we had to carry our suitcases back down the steep staircases to the train station. You should be very able bodied if you stay at this address. Shabby and not so chic is how I would describe this property.
I am sorry that you were not welcomed and helped adequately. The room was not properly ventilated. I inform you that, also thanks to your comment, the person you met no longer works for me.

Verified reviewThis place was chosen just because we remembered everything being fabulous and amazing seven years ago. Now: we were not at all in the same place but in somewhere around. It was only a lousy try to be made in the same concept. And: you don’t want to have breakfast and smell personals cigarets two meters from you.

Verified reviewBreakfast on the leafy rooftop terrace was delightful.
Hard to get to. Couldn’t find elevator from seaside to hilltop. No taxis available from train station or for return in the morning.

Verified reviewLa Terrazza is perfectly located in the oldest part of the town, and the room was clean and comfortable, with clean towels, soap and even a hair dryer. There is a 'fridge to keep your drinks cold. Thank goodness for the air conditioning too! Breakfast on the terrace is a real treat and a great place to relax with a good book afterwards. The steep stairs to the accommodation restrict this to the able-bodied only, but this applies to much of this location's streets and passageways, some of which are around 800 years old.
Nothing. Note: Make sure you bring a few euros in cash to pay the local tax which is €1 per person per night.

Verified reviewAfter 4 nights on a campsite in Tuscany, this is the Italy we wanted to experience. The bed and breakfast is stunning inside, and very comfortable. Ample parking is further up the hill. Breakfast was an absolute delight. The best coffee I have tasted in Italy, with fresh fruit, croissants, prosciutto, cheese, yoghurt, and fresh blood orange juice set on a rooftop terrace what is not to like?

Verified reviewBeing in the centre of the historic quarter was interesting, different impressions at different times during the stay. Top notch breakfast and service to start the day. The best beach is close by and a good choice of places to eat/ drink.
I got lost trying to find it walking from the train station on day one!

Verified reviewCentral old town location, close to numerous good restaurants. Help with luggage up the many stairs. Over the top and tasty breakfast offering.
Early check-in allowed but room was not very clean. Brimming with character but way too many nicknacks. Beautiful plant filled patio with a great view but again, too much and not very well kept.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was amazing. The location was difficult to find and the signage was not noticeable.
I text the B&B the day before I was due to arrive and they didn't respond. The person I spoke to on the Saturday when I arrived hardly understood English, I asked three questions, he could not answer any. He asked what time for breakfast? I answered 7.30an or 8am. The person on Sunday morning told me that my breakfast was ordered for 9am.
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I think the guy who prepares the breakfasts confused her with another guest. However, breakfast was served shortly after 7.30, as you requested. I replied to her email asking her to call me on my cell phone before arrival, it is a B & B and not a hotel. I'm glad you enjoyed the breakfast.
