Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ColombiaEverything was perfect at the property. Just make sure you do some research on your best option to get there. It is easy, but there are many options depending on how you get to Sorrento
From the very first moment, our experience at Gioì Hotel was outstanding. The property is brand new, so all the facilities are in perfect condition, featuring modern technology and all the amenities you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Our room far exceeded expectations: much larger than anticipated, very bright thanks to two large windows, and incredibly comfortable. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to rest. The service was exceptional, especially thanks to Giorgio, who was always available, warm, and attentive to every detail. Any request or question was handled immediately and with genuine kindness, which truly made a difference. And if you’re hesitating because the hotel isn’t in a “main” town on the Amalfi Coast, don’t! It’s just 5 minutes by train (ticket only €3.5) or 10 minutes by bus, with frequent transportation all day long to Sorrento and other Amalfi Coast destinations. The location is truly strategic: you get tranquility without sacrificing easy access to everything. In summary, Gioì Hotel offers brand-new modern facilities, first-class personalized service, and a location that makes it the ideal base to explore the region.

This hotel was one of the best choices we made on our trip. Giorgio – simply amazing! Such a special and kind person, always bringing good energy and ready to help or recommend. We truly felt like we had a local friend who cared about every little detail, and he’s the one who made our experience even more special. The rooms are spacious, modern, and exceptionally clean – exactly what we were looking for in southern Italy, where most hotels tend to feel more outdated. Breakfast was delicious and varied, changing every day, and the staff always offered to make something especially for us. Everyone was kind and welcoming, with a genuine feeling that they truly care. The location is great – just a 4-minute walk from the train station, and there’s also convenient parking if you’re coming with a car or scooter. A perfect couples’ experience. If you’re looking for a new, clean, and stylish hotel with heartfelt service and amazing people – this is the place. ❤️

This is an excellent, brand new, super comfortable hotel. It is a small hotel (around 10 rooms). The attention to detail, the quality of the modern and minimalistic decor, the quality of the food offered for breakfast, are definitely outstanding. Everything in this hotel is carefully thought out and designed, and it just works very well. The Internet service works flawlessly. Giorgio (the owner) and his staff make sure that every guest is comfortable and feels at home. The hotel is located within a five-minute walk from the Piano di Sorrento train station ("Piano" station). Trains to downtown Sorrento (which is 3.2 km / 2 miles away) or to Pompei and Naples can be taken from the Piano station (they come at 20 or 30-minute intervals). It is a short walk from the main Piano piazza "Piazza Cota". I can recommend this hotel without any doubt.

IsraelIf I could rate our stay at this hotel, I’d give it a 10+++ We travel often around the world, and this time were joined by our three grown sons. The hotel is brand new, with spacious, beautifully designed rooms and a rich, indulgent breakfast. It truly stands out compared to many places we’ve stayed. Giorgio, the owner, is incredibly warm and welcoming. He personally guided us with perfect recommendations for places to eat and visit. The service from him and his team was exceptional and made our stay perfect. No doubt — we’ll be coming back to this amazing hotel.

GermanyWe stayed here as a family with three children, and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is new, everything is spotlessly clean and well-kept. Our youngest shared the bed with us, and it worked out perfectly. The owner is incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive – he made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The location is also excellent: just a 3-minute walk to the train station, and a short ride brings you right into the city center. There’s convenient parking right next to the hotel (for a fee). The location was also very convenient for day trips throughout southern Italy, including the beautiful Amalfi Coast – a perfect base for exploring the region. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, pleasant, and family-friendly stay!

MalaysiaI stayed here with my friend for 7 days and 6 nights. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by how comfortable and clean the decor was. The bathroom was especially thoughtful, with a bidet provided. There’s also a small rooftop above the room that we can open manually, and it’s amazing to wake up in the morning and let in the sunlight. The hotel also provides breakfast every day, which was a really nice touch. The owner and staff are all friendly and super helpful. If I ever get the chance to come back to Sorrento, this will definitely be the place I stay. I highly recommend it!

MaltaOur stay at the hotel was simply amazing! The owner, Giorgio, was there for us from the very first to the very last moment — genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming. It’s clear he truly loves his guests and the hotel, which he built with great care and to high standards. Every detail reflects his dedication and passion. We were kindly offered parking, and Giorgio was so thoughtful that he personally drove us to a restaurant when he learned that the taxi would take a long time to arrive. He even stayed at the hotel until we returned from dinner, just to make sure everything was perfect. This level of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. Thank you, Giorgio, for making our stay so special — we can’t wait to come back. Our room was immaculately clean, and the interior was both elegant and cozy — every detail felt carefully chosen to create a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfasts were another highlight of our stay. The lovely lady who prepared them was incredibly kind and attentive. The dishes were varied, creative, and far from the typical hotel fare. And the homemade cakes — especially the peach and apple pies and the chocolate cake — were simply out of this world. Truly unforgettable flavors that made each morning a joy.

BulgariaWe stayed here for five nights and had an exceptional experience. Everything was spotless, elegant, with a modern touch and great attention to details. Even though the hotel was fully booked at the time, it was very quiet—no noise from other rooms and peaceful nights. The host is amazing—helpful, caring, and attentive. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The homemade chocolate cake with walnuts and pears was a definite favorite. The hotel is just a 3-4 minute walk from the train station, which made getting around the region really convenient, even with luggage. We’d love to come back to the Sorrento region, and this cozy family-run hotel is definitely a place we’d return to. To the hosts - thank you for making our stay so enjoyable—it truly made a difference!

NetherlandsThere was nothing I can say I didn’t like.
When I booked this hotel, I noticed it was new and didn’t have any reviews yet. And it truly exceeded expectations — the facilities are brand new and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and varied each day, which was a nice surprise. We were warmly welcomed throughout our stay and received a lot of helpful advice from the owner regarding local tips, places to visit, and suggested itineraries. There’s a small parking lot right next to the property with a very reasonable rate compared to other options in the area. The hotel location is perfect — just a 5-minute walk from a train station with quick access to Sorrento. I definitely recommend this place!
