Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was no working TV or microwave to heat up meals. The tea and coffee facility is communal. That meant I had to go out of my room to get a hot drink.
Nearness to the Town centre. Also the security was good.

ItalyThe electrical outlets are not the Italian ones! Thank god I didn’t have to charge anything. How’ that possible? There was not a single compatible one. Also, the water flow of the sink was too small.
Good bed, silence, good entrance.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThis is not hotel, room is in oldish apartmant building 100m from advertised location. Not bad location 5 min from Termini, but hotel in the name is misleading. Perfect for our trip - using room only for sleep and shower.
Location is great for the price and the room is ok.

JapanMap only shows the place of the Check-in counter, the room was another building 5 minutes walk south from there. The refrigerator didn't work good. The toilet flushing is very week.
Location is perfect. Room is not exactly the place shown on the map, but still close to the station.

United KingdomThe room was hot but there was no control for the air-con. There was no water in the cistern so toilet would not flush. The host did not respond to my WhatsApp message.
The room was clean and soundproof. No noise from the busy outside area. The bed was big and comfortable. Good coffee available in the morning. The check in was easy

CanadaWhen we arrived at the hotel, everything was going great until it got to the payment. At first, we were confused because we had paid online. But lee( the "manager") said we need to pay the city tax for me and my husband so we did, AND THEN, he asked for a $25 city tax for my 10 year old daughter! But my other daughter was free!? I was so confused. So then i was like, no! Either you give us a bigger room, or we are not paying. He did nothing, so my daughter was negotiating with him, so in the end, we paid 20 dollars. I was so upset. He even yelled at me, saying he's right and i'm wrong. The only reason i still gave the hotel 6 stars was because of the cleanliness. I would not come here ever again.

MaltaWifi was rather slow and the TV was not working. The bathroom did not offer much privacy although it must be said that it was clean. As is to be expected the area nearest to the station is shabby and at night requires some extra caution.
Thel room was overall clean and bed was very roomy and comfortable. The location was very close to Termini Station, the Mercato Centrale, and within easy walking to Piazza Sta Maria Maggiore and other attractions

AustraliaIf you arrive late at night it can be hard to find, as no big signs, so look for the correct street number. A bit expensive for what you get, but Rome is expensive, so in comparison it was fine.
Close to Termini station. Comfy bed. Lots of nice Trattorias close by for a meal if arriving in evening. The Hotel also has rooms in an apartment block further up the street, so you may be staying there. Lee, the owner was very helpful with navigation and stored my bag. The place looks a bit dodgy at first but was OK in the end.

IrelandThe room was very small for 3ppl, not much space in it. Bathroon also very small. However I suppose it was ok at the end as we havent spend much time in there anyways. No staff member at the reception area, contact was through whatsaap as they were based in the Filippo hotel and moved us to their sister hotel, Sky on arrival. Other then that everything was ok.
The location is good, just 5min walk from the Rome main train station. Also walking distance to the coloseum and other atractions (about 20min walk) Supermarket also close by. We have not stayed in the hotel Filippo we were moved to their sister hotel Sky. The room was clean and the contact with hotel staff was very good through whatsapp. Our daughter left her glasses in the room and we only realised it on our way to the airport. Hotel staff was so kind and agreed to post it to our home in Ireland.
