How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewElizabeth Seaview Place was absolutely amazing, and we loved every moment of our stay. The stunning view of Pompeii was breathtaking, complemented by a beautiful garden that showcased meticulous attention to detail. The lush vibrant garden added to the enchanting scenery. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We also discovered a lovely restaurant within short walking distance that offered delicious food in lemon tree orchards with a stunning view —definitely a highlight of our trip. Our host, Antonetta, was truly exceptional; she made us feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We were especially grateful for the charcuterie platter she prepared for our late arrival, as we were quite hungry after our journey. Antonetta's warmth and kindness truly reflected in her hospitality, making our experience unforgettable.

Verified reviewView from the apartment is stunning. Montechiaro is a lovely place but connectivity with Sorrento is not the best. Antonietta was a very nice host. Always polite and willing to assist us in whatever we may need.
Location is not the best regarding connectivity with Sorrento

Verified reviewThe area was beautiful. Views of Mt. Vesuvius and Naples. Very secluded area. Quiet.
Hard to find the place. If you use Google maps it will take you past, the Sharpe left turn you need to make, and u-turn you back. The kitchen needs a good cleaning. Too cook a simple breakfast was a challenge. It could use a couple comfortable chairs to sit in when you are there at night. Adjusting all the doors in the apartment so they open better. I didn't like our hostess coming into our apartment when we were not home.
In the meantime, thank you for taking the time to write. Since the morning of your arrival we have sent precise road directions with attached photos so as not to make you go the wrong way, but the message has never been read. There is a large kitchen available to guests with a breakfast corner, which I left there even if it wasn't necessary since it is a holiday home, and there is a large organized kitchen which I think you have used enough. The review did not mention the welcome cocktail offered by the house, the reviews also talk about this. I entered the apartment only to unplug the electronic devices, and also the air conditioner which among other things had been left on, as there was a storm and they would have broken, you could have imagined it.

Verified reviewWe had a lovely stay at this apartment near Sorrento. The terrace view is absolutely gorgeous, perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery. The place was spotlessly clean, and Antonietta, the host, was incredibly kind and attentive. She promptly helped with anything we needed, whether it was a missing item or a small issue. The apartment is located very close to Sorrento, making it a great base for exploring the area, and the location is quiet and peaceful. One of the highlights was meeting Leo, the friendly dog, who made us feel right at home! There's also plenty of private parking, which was really convenient.
However, for a group of four adults, we did feel the apartment would benefit from having an additional bathroom. Also, there was no mirror for cosmetics, which would have been helpful, and the bathroom door didn’t lock, which was a minor inconvenience.

Verified reviewThe view
I asked prior to our arrival about transportation and the best way to get there. The day of arrival, we scrambled to find our way, when I contacted the owner was told to take the bus, we found a taxi. It is very remote, and the bus is unreliable. This difficulty was not explained well, or managed by the owners. I reached out the day we left asking for help transporting bags to the bus stop and after waiting for the bus over 30 minutes, no response-there was a transport strike-very difficult to navigate. I hitchhiked. Where to eat, that you need reservations, basic things such as this were not communicated. The beds had no topper, was hard-very uncomfortable.
When you move without a car and far from the center of Sorrento, you have to consider the possibility of having problems with public transport which I naturally cannot manage. Despite this, the response to all the messages you sent me, the availability, the welcome and the kindness, were not appreciated, given that in the review you only pointed out negative things. on the day of departure, as you have seen, I was not at home due to an unexpected event, and you also specified this. I was really disappointed by this feedback because yours is a vote that I would put in a very bad place, not in the one you were in.

Verified reviewAbsolutely everything - It couldn't have been more perfect for our family. Views were captivating and breathtaking everytime you looked! Was a breath of fresh air to come back from hustle and bustle of the coast and crazy drivers on crazy roads on drop off and relax....hahaha The owner was so accommodating and assisted in everything. Kayaks Sorrento - a must tour - only 25-35min drive and they take you to a cove to swim and small cliff dive off coastline.
Only area was pillows could been better and wifi was am issue on couple occasions. Otherwise, absolutely perfection.

Verified reviewThe B&B has an unbeliveable view on Vesuvis and the sea and an amazing owner :)) It has a beautiful garden and a spacious rooms. The hostess was a perfect host, she offered us some aperitives on arrival, picked us up (google maps makes it hard to find, but it is really easy to get there once she showed us), and she made us feel at home. The rooms have everything you might need, it was really clean and with many caring details. In the morning we had breakfast on the terrace with the amazing view on the sea and Vesuvis, and we felt like it was a dream. I strongly recommend to stop at this beautiful place to enjoy a real experience of this region. :)
