Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The apartment was decorated in a really beautiful and comfortable way. We especially enjoyed the balcony with a view of the trulli.

Everything was amazing—the host, the balcony view, all the little things, the cute details, the location. I still can’t get over how an apartment with so many decorations and charming touches could be that spotless! My family totally recommends it—and my daughters even called it “the Italian fairytale house”!

Maria is an amazing host, she couldn’t have been more welcoming and responsive. Such a beautiful home that is spotlessly clean. Parking right outside the door and only a 5-10 min walk to centre. If we ever return we would love to stay again. Thank you Maria

South KoreaNOOOOOTHING That we had to leave was the worst part
This place looks like a house straight out of a fairy tale—it's absolutely beautiful! I've traveled quite a lot around Europe, but I've never stayed at such a charming and lovely accommodation like this. On top of that, the host is incredibly kind—you can genuinely feel how much care and attention she puts into everything, and it was truly touching. Every detail in the house, down to the coat hangers, reflects the owner's thoughtful touch. The interior is so pretty that just sitting there made me happy. Even the plates and coffee cups were beautiful! And from the balcony, you can see the Trulli rooftops stretching out in the distance—such a magical view. We were debating whether we should stay in a Trullo while in Alberobello, but just like how you can’t see the Eiffel Tower when you’re inside it, staying in one means you miss out on its unique view from the outside... haha. (Also, most Trulli accommodations seem to be renovated and not fully traditional on the inside.) Then we found this place, and it was so beautiful we just couldn't resist booking it. It's just as lovely as it looks in the photos—maybe even more so. And the host’s kindness made it even more special. I was truly the happiest here during my trip in Italy. Among all the people I met in Italy, the host was the only one who even used a translation app to communicate with us. Parking was super easy—just right across from the entrance. The location is also very convenient for those traveling by car. You can walk to the church in just a few minutes, and the town center is also close by. Walking through the quiet alleyways filled with Trulli on the way is an experience in itself. + If you go the opposite way from the church, there’s a small museum where you can get a glimpse of the traditional interiors of Trulli from the past.

United KingdomNothing!! It was honestly perfect - we did not want to leave!
We loved absolutely everything about Diamora Violetta! Honestly. The location is amazing. A very short 5 min walk and you are in the centre of everything. - and it's a beautiful walk down to the main street. Our hostess was just amazing - Maria, we cannot thank you enough for all the care you showed us during our visit. Communication in advance was great and Maria even came to pick up as up at the bus station on arrival. She explained that taxis are few and far between - and expensive - so we were extremely grateful of her offer of a lift. (It's a wee bit of a maze in places so not sure we would have found the house on our own!). She took us back to station too! And as for the house itself it is absolutely everything you could wish for. Comprising a very large lounge/kitchen area - all you could need for a short stay in the kitchen. Our oven/grill wasn't working but there was a stovetop and microwave and Maria very kindly lent us her own toaster for breakfast. A small balcony with table and chairs leads off the living room - and it's so lovely to sit out there with the view over the Trulli rooftops - especially at night! There's a huge bedroom - another balcony leading off to the rear (no seating there though) The place is spotless. And what a place it is - it totally lived up to and surpassed expectations - Maria has put so much thought into the decor and is a bit of an artist and so creative! Alberobello itself is beautiful of course. so many places to eat and lovely independent gift shops etc etc. And a highlight has to be viewing the Trullis illuminated at night - just beautiful. The town can get very busy with day trippers but if you just wait until the buses have all gone for the day and you can wander and enjoy the magic of the place at night.

United StatesWe had an unexpected emergency during our trip, and the host went above and beyond to help us. They were incredibly flexible with our check-in and check-out times, which made a huge difference for us. On top of that, they welcomed us with snacks, food, and drinks — such a thoughtful gesture that really made us feel cared for. The communication was quick, kind, and understanding, and the place itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. This kind of genuine hospitality is rare, and we are truly grateful. Highly recommended!
