Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe stayed here as we were let down by the B&B we had booked. We made the booking through booking.com after 5pm on the Sunday afternoon, and Flavio and Carla got in touch straight away and met us at the property within about 30 minutes. They were both so kind, particularly after our bad experience. We had booked a standard room which was very spacious with a seating area, large firm bed, possibility of an extra bed, wardrobe, fridge, TV, coffee maker and kettle, and a large modern bathroom attached. There is also a similar standard room upstairs which might give a little more light. In the room was also a bottle of local wine and snacks/sweets which was all very thoughtful, plus fresh water. The bathroom had sachets of toiletries. They had really thought of everything you might want. They were very responsive via booking.com and WhatApp. The location of the B&B is right in the old town in an old historic building. There was occasional noise but nothing late at night and it was suprising how quiet it was really being so central. If driving the B&B has a special deal with a car park just near the Napoli Gate of 10 euros per day which worked out very well for us. Breakfast was served in the room and included juice, coffee of your choice, fruit, delicious homemade savoury quiche, homemade cakes, french toast with butter, jam etc. Flavio and Carla are natural hosts and were always checking if we were happy and okay. Unfortunately we don't speak Italian but they helped us as much as they could with their limited English. We really recommend this place if you want to be central and in a place full of atmosphere. Thank you for your kindness, Flavio and Carla.

NetherlandsLocated in the centre of Lecce, walking distance to all attractions and restaurants, this old house made great impression. Room was nicely maintained and enough for 4 persons.. The hosts were waiting for us and explain us some detail of the city.

United KingdomTbf I should of given them an arrival time which I didn't & had to wait some time for agent to arrive. When she did arrive she was well mannered. There was graffiti on the walls opposite apartments which was unsightly.
The owner was replied to my esquires very promptly & gave me directions on where to park.

ItalyThe actual building is gorgeous the rooms we had...included amazing vaulted ceilings....its all very spacious and airy on the first floor..and you are really close to the beating heart of Lecce....there is even a small shop to buy any daily necessities...round the corner...as well as all the cafes and restaurants..and cute stylish Italian shops.. you need on your doorstep..breakfast is generous too and on some days there was Carla's home made quiche which was wonderful. I also found the people who help with cleaning to be so efficient and kind..grazzie Manuela.....if you want to book tours there are wonderful people who help with that too..grazziie Bibiana

United KingdomThe accommodation is in a beautiful old building, but the rooms did not live up to the pictures on Booking.com. It is obviously very costly to maintain such a building, but the rooms were in poor condition, with flaking paintwork, tears in the flooring, and noisy plumbing. We were woken well after midnight on our second night by some guests who had just arrived and were rather more upset with the accommodation than we were. Breakfast was mediocre.
Communication was good. The welcome was friendly and we were given helpful advice and recommendations. The location was very good.

United StatesShabby, dusty, peeling paints crumbling interior walls, poorly furnished, hard, squeaky uncomfortable bed. The area was nice until you turned into the access lane, which was generally populated with unsavory types and filthy with refuse. Hot water kettle was disgusting, I had to clean it thoroughly. Breakfast was limited and mediocre.
Good proximity to center of old town. Easy to check in. Site manager was very helpful with suggestions.

BelgiumWhen we arrived to the small street of the Bed and Breakfast in the centre of Lecce the street was extremely dirty and smelly. When we saw youngsters taking drugs, my son immediately fell unsafe and begged me to go somewhere else. And that is what we did!!

United StatesBed was very hard and not comfortable. Could not drive to the unit. The breakfast was pre packed food left in the unit. This was not my idea of a B&B.

GreeceThis hotel is a newly renovated old building with unique features. The male host is experienced in hotel management and can fully understand and meet the needs of guests, especially remotely guiding guests on how to check in; the female host is elegant and enthusiastic, especially the rich breakfast reflects the host's meticulousness and thoughtfulness. It is very important to inform the hotel management in advance.

ItalyYou can't get to the place by car... you have to park 7 blocks aways and walk. Nobody told us that, so we went to the historic centre by car and now we're probably getting a fine.
The place was big, comfortable and very clean. Located in the historic centre, near everything. Breakfast was amazing and the staff was very nice!!

United Kingdomthe up keep of the rooms, poor finishing, mouldy floors around skirting areas / seating area. Bathroom shower wasn’t supported on wall properly and shower door mouldy and loose. The bed was hard and unfortunately ridden with bed mires / fleas which caused bites all over our bodies. the electricity would cut out at night also which became annoying and hard to see up bendy stairs; no space in rooms for storage. I used a hole in the wall / lived out of case. Bedding wasn’t changed either. don’t turn up without them knowing the exact time / we waited 1 hour for them to show up after a long journey and needing to use facilities. English isn’t good so google translate will help a lot. lovely couple just need to sell as a B&B 2 star. Money needs to be spent. one night stay bearable.
the outside was beautiful and the reception area. Breakfast small living room with pretty art. Beautiful wooden closet in upstairs hallway. Chest of draws in our bedroom was lovely to look at but dusty also.
