Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaThe hotel is still under renovation so we couldn't experience all of the amenities it had to offer. There is ample of space for two chairs and a table in the balcony. With regards to the breakfast, I would suggest cucumbers and lettuce to go with the tomatoes available.
Excellent location, very good restaurant, very good food and good prices.

PolandAwfull breakfast of dried scrambled eggs and pieces of bland, cold hotdog sausages in a dining room cold as a freezer. The rooms are ugly. I have not seen a smaller TV in a hotel in the last 10 years - maybe 15 inch. On top of that some parrots they keep outside the building make loud noises every half an hour.
Good location. Nice common room downstairs. Helpful staff. Decent size room.

ItalyBar staff are pretty miserable and not very welcoming, water from the AC drains directly on to the balcony making it very wet.
The location is perfect to visit the ruins which are a 2 min walk across the road, the Pompei Scavi train station is a 20 min walk. The hotel reception staff were very friendly, the room was a great size, clean and comfortable. There was a good choice for breakfast.

United KingdomYou’ll have seen from other reviews - place completely encased in scaffolding and, like others, I didn’t see hide nor hair of any workers on it so I suspect it’ll be there for a long, long time! It was awful to walk into a building looking like that and most importantly it completely spoils what could have been a good view. I know they have to have the work done BUT they should make it crystal clear that the views they boast are not available due to the work going on. Despite the scaffolding, my so-called view of the ancient site which was one reason I chose the room would not have been there anyway as it was only on second floor so not physically high enough to see anything but the wall and trees - only higher rooms would have had the view of the site. So I feel completely mis-sold. Wi-Fi was terrible - half the time it didn’t even show in the network list and when it did it only gave one bar which kept dropping off. Aside from one very nice lady in the breakfast room, the staff weren’t that friendly - not rude or anything but I found them a little sullen. This is unusual for the area where I generally find hotel staff smiling and welcoming. Room had way too many furnishings - lots of cushions, ornaments etc and a horrible net thing over the bed I had to pull back each day - all of these things are simply dust traps and cannot feasibly be dusted and cleaned properly each day by staff with limited time to turn around a room so there’s inevitably excess dust around. Rooms should be kept free of unnecessary furnishings. No coffee on refreshment tray, only a teabag. No milk, no spoon, no glass. I would be more forgiving if this place didn’t claim to be four-star - it really is not up to those standards and shouldn’t claim to be.
Location great - across the road from the archaeological park and, as someone who’s visited Pompeii several times after the awfulness of the Circumvesuviana train, walking across the road was a major treat! Walking distance from mainline train. Pompei is a lovely town. Room nice and big - though I did pay for that! It was clean. Room made up each day. Fridge. Good value on the whole.

United KingdomWe were in 213 which was a junior suite at the front of the property and going by the description, we expected to have a good view of the archaeological grounds and Vesuvius. There was no view at all as the property is covered in scaffolding and even without the scaffolding I'm not sure the pictures are up to date as the trees have grown which would also obscure the view. Upon speaking with the manager she informed us that the Mayor has requested that the outside be painted which I believe has been on going for several months which isn't surprising as we didn't see any activity from decorators during the week we were there. The balcony was dirty and had no outside furniture. The amount of electrical sockets was limited and the fridge had to be unplugged if you wanted to plug the kettle in. After we mentioned this they bought an extension lead which was then dangling dangerously. The shower cubicle was small and mould was around the shower tray. Toilet seat was loose. We went half board and the breakfast was acceptable if you prefer cereals or cake. The "hot" food consisted of scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, and sausages that looked like they were out of a tin. The evening meal was table service and was good but lacked variety. There were around 4 different items in starter, main and side so that by mid-week we were back to eating the same again. The dessert consisted of @ 4 - 5 different fruited shaped desserts to choose from. You have to allow at least 1.5 hours for the meal due to the wait between courses. We paid 4 euros each per night on Tourist tax and not 3 euros as advertised on Booking.com The garden looked neglected and was taken over by cars parking. The games room was locked and not in use. Its a shame as it didn't live up to our expectations but with a few tweaks it could be made so much better.
Plus points:- Friendly and accommodating staff. Location very good for Pompeii site, railway station, shops and cafes.
