How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLoved the spaciousness, the quiet of the village…just heard rooster crowing, occasionally dog barking, and, sweetest of all, a donkey braying! Great location…good base for hiking. The terraces are great for sunning and the views are stunning. The place had a luxurious feel to it. We hope to stay there again if we’re able to go back. Giada is an excellent communicator! She sent video clips about how to get into the place, how to operate the washing machine and heat/ac, along with suggestions for transportation, things to do.
Couldn’t get the coffee maker to work, no microwave, no spatula, but those are minor things.

Verified reviewAbsolutely incredible stay at Giada’s home. We only communicated over WhatsApp, but were able to check in and check out seamlessly. The house is huge, with spacious rooms, a living room, kitchen, two bathrooms and an enormous terrace overlooking the mountain range and Amalfi. The views are unbelievable. I just wish we stayed longer! The house has everything you would need and Giada was very helpful and communicative and arranged our taxi back to Naples. The only downside is that it’s quite difficult to get into the town of Amalfi/Atrani if you don’t have a car/bike. There are no taxis in the town (unless you book in advance) and it costs €70 to Amalfi and €160 to Naples. There are buses but they are very confusing, overcrowded and unreliable (you have to buy tickets at a ticket desk before you get on). We weren’t able to get to Ravello because the buses kept not arriving or driving past packed with people from Amalfi. So sadly we didn’t get to see it this time. But the stay was still worth it and we will definitely be back, and next time we will probably hire a small car! Thank you Giada for the amazing stay!
Maybe a hot tub would be a good addition ;)

Verified reviewThe location is amazing away from the hustle and bustle of Amalfi. It has restaurants and a small shop nearby so very convenient. The views are just incredible. I would say you need a car or be very fit to stay here as there are a lot of steps to get into Amalfi and the buses are ok but not very regular.
You have to pay an additional €60 to get a permit to park your car.

Verified reviewApartment was lovely spacious, beautiful views from the balcony and roof.
If we hadn't have paid extra we wouldn't have been able to park anywhere near the property.
Ciao Simon, thanks for your feedback, it has been a pleasure to host you. Unfortunately the parking of the area is not managed by us and as everywhere on the Amalfi Cost, people have to pay to park the cars. (the moneys goes to the town hall to guarantee the service not to us) Best Giada

Verified reviewAbsolutely loved the place. Beautiful and very spacious home in a charming little village. Location-wise slightly further out, probably a 10-minute walk from the bus. I wouldn't suggest walking up from Amalfi (so many steps lol), but definitely go for the walk down - such beautiful views! We enjoyed the terrace and looked forward to waking up to breakfast with the sunrise. Wish we could've stayed longer honestly.
Nothing really. We really enjoyed our stay!

Verified reviewAmazing views and so quiet. The space was so big, comfortable and clean.
Loved how quiet it was but there wasn’t a lot near by. Quite a walk even to the grocery store. Amazing hiking and scenery near by though. We didn’t have a car so the location was a little challenging for us but appreciated not being right in the craziness of Almalfi. Unfortunately the buses are not very dependable so be prepared to walk lots of stairs!

Verified reviewThe hosts were extremely kind and helpful. The check-in was smooth and easy. They put us in touch with a really good scooter hire company and organised an excellent airport transfer service. The view was exceptional. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very spacious. Pontone is a beautiful small quiet village up above the hustle and bustle on the Amalfi Coast.
Grazie Denise for your feedback. Best Giada

Is a 30 minutes downstairs walk to Amalfi, super fast and the way is beautiful! Giana was an amazing host, she made the trip 100x better! I highly recommend this place if your planning your trip to the coast! I can’t wait to come back 🤍

Verified reviewVery comfortable place with great views and helpful staff
It was not a very convenient location. There is a bus that takes you to Amalfi but it's a 15 minute walk away to the stop and bus does not actually follow the schedule. We waited an hour and when the bus finally came it was full. We ended up having to walk all the way down the stairs to Amalfi with our baby making it very difficult to do anything on the coast. Also there is one tiny grocery store by the apartment that hardly had anything and only took cash.
