Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe Air Con was faulty. We set it on heat and it only brought fresh cold air from the outside. Unaware of this at first we woke up in the middle of the night with 14°C inside. Luckly we found some blankets to worm ourselves up. Noise was also an issue. At 8:00 AM a neibhour used some power tools for about an hour, 2 days in a row. Soundproofing is a joke, the door lets light and noise come in from the hallway (and of course, you can hear everything that happen inside from the hallway). Breakfast is served downstairs, at a local Pub, where the nice guys 'forget' about your second drink.
The location was perfect for visiting Rome. It is aproximately near most of the atractions, and close to a Metro station.

GermanyThe only downside was that the bidet was not cleaned properly, it looked like there was either rust or remainings of poop. I have no idea, we didnt explore it further but the toilet was very well cleaned so for us it wasnt that big of a problem.
I loved the location of this room. The bedding and everything was really clean which was exactly what we needed after staying at another "hotel" which was just horrible. The attention was incredible and we even got upgraded to a bigger room ! Definatelly would book again.

HungaryWalls are a bit thin.
We were taken care of even before we arrived, got texted about how we plan to travel and if we need transfer. Got an easter pack too :) Room is comfortable, large and modern, cleaned every day if needed. Breakfest was as others wrote but actually one cornetto is quite enough even for a male, and even if tony’s is mainly like an evening bar they get the bakery from a good place I guess (or every croissant is good in Italy). The location is great, metro station is easy to reach, and many good restaurants and a really good gin bar can be reached on foot.

United Kingdomnothing about the facility, the breakfast wasn’t great. it is more of a snack in the morning. but the pastry was amazing. but would be better if it was more of a hot food breakfast and a little bit more food and drink option to chose from.

SwedenWouldn’t call it a hotel, more that you rent a room. Breakfast is in the neighboring cafe and includes a coffee, juice and a croissant.

Canada1. Room had sewer backup smell - if/when we open the window, strong cigarette smell would come in as there were many smokers hanging out in the bar and street directly one floor down by the window 2. The WiFi did not exist in any parts in the room except by the room's entrance (small area) 3. The toilet flush stopped working in the morning of our departure (had a long flight ahead) - we texted the owner via whats app but did not get any assistance, just that she was going to send someone - no one came after waiting for more than an hour, no updates at all
1.Sarah, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful 2. It was raining and we were invited to use their umbrellas Good room layout, bunk bed was a fun change for the kids 3. Coffee served on the free breakfast was good

NorwayAt this very price, I expected a greater variety of facilities. The room itself was neat and clean, but the shower was way too small for me. I am 1.88m but was way taller than what the shower was. It made it uncomfortable to take a shower. Even though they offer to book a taxi for you, I would recommend doing it on your own through an actual company, as our trip back to the airport seemed like it was just an acquaintance of the staff that drove us at a set price (€55, only cash).
Very central location just a 10-minute walk from the Vatican City. It was close to the metro station and had lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. There were almost no tourists in the area other than ourselves, which amplified the Italian feel we had wanted upon arrival. The staff was also very accommodating regarding any information and gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant when we arrived in the late evening. The breakfast at Tony bar was also just what I had expected and wanted.
