How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Verified reviewLocation of the property could not have been more ideal. Right by the walls of the old town, stunning sunset views just outside your door. Easy walking distance to all the restaurants and bars in the evening and still close to the marina too.
I would have liked more natural light and fresh air but this would not deter me from booking. Air con could have been slightly stronger but overall we liked the accommodation

Verified reviewThe location was amazing, close to the marina and old town! The rooms were all newly renovated and had an ocean view. Mariella was great at check in and gave us some excellent recommendations for restaurants and beaches. She also assisted us with a reservation to a Agriturismo, which was fabulous.

Air conditioning did not work well.

We’re also glad that - like so many others who have stayed at Casa Jaume - you enjoyed the location in the heart of the old town, right next to Alghero’s historic walls, with that breathtaking view that becomes magical at sunset. We’re sorry, though, for the discomfort caused by the extreme heat. These unusually hot days have reminded us just how challenging it is to keep indoor spaces cool when the outside world feels like it’s melting. We’re already looking into possible improvements, although we also hope that broader action will be taken to address the growing issue of climate overheating. Verified reviewWe stayed in Suite Estel at Casa Jaume and it was perfect for my friend and I. Had everything we needed and more, a perfect sized en suite, living room with fridge, sofa and table. There was plenty of room to store and hang our clothes, as well as lots of flat surfaces. There was even a drying rack and hanging line through one of the windows which was ideal for swimming costumes and towels after our beach days. We had cleaners pop in midweek to give the room a clean and they left some fresh towels. Daniella was super helpful during our stay and super quick to reply if we had any questions. Cannot recommend more - so lovely and great location!
The area in which Casa Jaume is located is pedestrianised, so if you hire a car then you need to park about 10-15 minutes away.

Verified reviewThe best of Casa Jaume is the location. You are close to all the good restaurants in Alghero. The place is well maintained and very clean. It was nice to discover 2 bottles of water in the fridge (little investment, huge positive impact). Good communication with the owner via WhatsApp
One of the two air conditioning remotes did not work. You need to bring/buy your own shampoo and dush gel as the one provided is enough for one day. The particular thing I didn't like was the way the owner communicated about the waste disposal. You need to sort your waste very carefully and not to leave any waste in the apartment when you leave... a thing that is OK as a principle but needs to be communicated before making the reservation. I have the right to choose if I'm paying 150 eur per night and need to do my own cleaning at the end of my stay.

The decor was basic. There wee no cups, glasses or corkscrew. It was a functional but not homely room.

Verified reviewThe property is located right in the lovely old town of Alghero with lovely sea views & an excellent variety of bars & restaurants to be explored nearby. It was exactly as shown on the website & a perfect base for our holiday.
We weren’t given the code for the outside of the apartment so had to phone to get inside the building. We also had an issue with the safe running out of battery- would be good if this was changed frequently to avoid this panic & having to wait for person to come & help open it again.

One tiny little thing. The floor could have been mopped, but we had early check in. May be they were in a hurry with cleaning because of that.

Very disappointing stay because of the quality of the room
Dear Welmer, We are truly sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Casa Jaume. At the same time we are a bit confused by the rates given to the sub-categories, which contradict what you wrote in your “pro” and “cons” comments. We struggled to understand the rating of 2.5 assigned to the “location” sub-category, and the positive comment about the “location”. The same goes for the “comfort” sub-category which you assigned 10, but then your comment shows that you were very disappointed because of the quality of the suite. The view through the window in the morning was amazing! The suite was cleaned everyday of our stay. We stayed facing the street and the restaurant - room itself is noise canceling so we were not able to hear any sounds coming from the streets.
