How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe apartment has a vintage-modern vibe, very well maintained and clean. The kitchen is equipped with everything for a shorter stay and the bathroom is bright, enough hot water for everyone staying there (there are two double bedrooms). The location is also great, 10 min by foot to the closest beach Pane e Pomodoro, and about 15-20 min to the city centre. It is located in a lively neighbourhood so city noises are inevitable. Lots of shops and two supermarkets nearby. The Wifi was fast. The bedroom was spacious, we did not have a wardrobe but there was a shelf attachment on the clothes railing in addition to the Ikea Malm chest of drawers. What was great is that no matter that we spoke different languages the host was super responsive and they always provided us if we needed anything.
Having in mind the location, it gets pretty loud at night if you sleep with an open window, however there is an air conditioner so that could be fixed. The oven in the kitchen does not work and breakfast was not provided (incl coffee), we did not need it but if you expect it you are likely to be disappointed. The hosts often came to the apartment during the day to care for things around the apartment so you always hear someone coming and going as the front door is a bit loud. It is worth mentioning that it is on the 4th floor with no elevator and staircase that is a bit narrow so if you have lots of luggage or heart problems I would suggest you have it in mind.

Verified reviewIt’s 500 meters away from the Bari Marconi train station so the location of this accommodation is perfect to make day trips to other small towns. Also the room is pretty and you can watch Netflix, Youtube etc. on the television.
The place is actually not a bed & breakfast. Although the breakfast is included in the price, we received breakfast twice out of four mornings. We received the breakfast the second time only because we texted the owner that we didn’t receive it in the morning so he delievered it in the afternoon. And the so called breakfast is one piece of the most cheapest, tasteless croissant that you can ever buy and basically that’s it. First two mornings we had coffee capsules then after that it wasn’t refilled at all. I also had some issues considering the facility because there wasn’t any hair dryer and shower gel.

Verified reviewIt was a nice apartment and it had a balcony.
We stayed for four nights, and twice were told by different hosts that we'd have the apartment to ourselves, but others checked in at night. There seemed to be poor communication between the hosts and with us. The breakfast was disappointing—a tiny store-bought croissant and bad coffee we had to make ourselves, which didn't even last the entire stay. When we asked for more, they brought coffee incompatible with the machine. Also, there were no extra towels, and they wanted to charge us €10 each when we requested more. The apartment was nice, but overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

Verified reviewNothing!
DO NOT BOOK THIS FLAT. First of all, it said private bathroom in the advertisement, but after reservation, the owner wrote to me that it is shared bathroom. So I acted optimistically and said okay. But this means paying more money and it is false advertising (I see this has happened to others in the comments). Secondly, breakfast included is also false advertising. I saw on the table croussant(bought from market) and coffee machine is not what you expect, if you want real breakfast. And worst one, owner wrote that the air conditioner is not working. I couldn't cancel because my reservation was non-refundable and owner think that if he or she inform us its not his problem. So i came but I couldn't sleep at night because the weather was so hot in the room, it was impossible to live there. I decided to leave the house at 4 o'clock at night, booked another hotel and went there, because of this I lost money but my trip became good 👌

Verified reviewNice clean comfortable room
We had problems with the aircon, which the host tied to fix to be fair. Billed as breakfast included, was a croissant and some coffee self-service, shared facilities , nice place though it was very clean and comfortable
