Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere wasn't anything we didn't like! Maybe there could be some seating outside the rooms, so that guests could sit outside of their rooms in the morning or evening.
We have just returned from the the most relaxing stay at Borgo Vita Novella. We stayed just outside of the start of the tourist season, so it was very quiet. We had the pool to ourselves for the whole week! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good each morning with plenty of choice and amazing home made cake! Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was pool service and the hotel provides pool towels which was great. There are lots of places to sit in the shade around the grounds. We had a recommendation from the owner of a few vineyards to visit or a local farm Terra di Cavalera, we chose to visit the farm and were so pleased we did, such a great experience and fantastic food. Borgo vita Novella is very close to Marzememi and 30 minutes away from Noto, but you do need a car. Thank you to everyone for such a fabulous holiday, we will be telling everyone about it.

SingaporeThe WI FI in our room was highly problematic.
Borgo Vita Novella is a beautiful restored historical complex with high architectural value, which could easily be marketed as luxury resort, if the rooms were decorated and designed more purposefully. I think the potential is there. Currently the design is kept a bit simple and functional but genuine. The staff is kind and smiley making every interaction pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is very good.

United KingdomWe are always fair and we give out constructive feedback so guests are aware but more importantly so that the venue can improve from very good to excellent. I really got the impression that the accommodation is in Marzamemi but it’s not.Its closer to Pachino. I’d made a note on my plans, ‘ walk into village everyday for long lunches’ . Marzamemi is 10 minutes by car. Just over an hour on foot. I asked the staff how long it would take to walk there. The kind lady told me in no uncertain terms not to walk there as it would be too dangerous. I drove there, she was correct. No pavements/sidewalks and probably less safe than walking on a F1 track. Taxi 30€ return! So I had to not sample the fantastic local wines with my meals as I didn’t want to drink and drive. So as its location is remote and one has to drive to have dinner as the accommodation doesn’t offer anything substantial after 2pm it is a negative. Borgo Vita Novella has incredible potential. I feel guests would stay and have dinner if it were provided. The grounds are so large that entertainment could be provided with meals and drinks until 11 pm even. The 8 pm cut off is a bit like being a small child again. Bedtime is early here unless you drive or pay prohibitive taxi fares. We agreed we would have stayed exclusively at Borgo had it been more like a hotel than the very high end B&B that it feels like at the moment. It’s obviously not a B&B but nor is it a hotel yet. I don’t know how I’d describe it but it is lovely and I’d certainly return.
Excellent breakfast. Lovely and wide choice. The food that we ordered was of a very high quality. They have a great system here. They use your mobile to set up what’s app and then you can get whatever you need when you are by the incredible pool. They simply bring everything to you. It’s lovely and makes you feel special. You never have to leave your sun loungers. There are great areas to sit slightly away from the pool area as well. A 25 m infinity pool and so many beds it felt like your own luxury villa. The room is upstairs and downstairs. Simply wonderful and serviced daily. Air conditioning was great. We loved the room. Great big bed as well. The staff were fantastic. Ignazio was very charming and friendly. We had a couple of issues with pests which they acted on immediately. It’s in the countryside so to be expected and beyond the control of the hotel in the first instance but they fixed it in any case. The grounds are substantially and very well maintained. This location would be perfect for a wedding. Outstanding in fact. The parking is free and the availability far exceeds demand. I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend others to do the same. You could buy lunch. There were two main options. A fish sharing board and a cheese/meat sharing board. Both very substantial. I noted on another review that they had a wonderful pasta alla norma but there was no longer any pasta options. Lunch ends at 2 pm but the young lady kindly did us the cheese and meat option after the kitchen staff had left. You can get snacks and sandwiches also. Great security.

United KingdomVery little.
Wonderfully relaxing property restored immaculately by the family owners with exceptionally well maintained grounds and lovely pool area. Perfectly situated for visiting the Baroque towns and cities and easy access to St Lorenzo Agua Beach. The staff were genuinely attentive especially Ignato for his advice and local knowledge. Great breakfast including a daily choice of homemade Sicilian pastries with special thanks to Alice. Thank you to all the staff at Borgo. We hope to return.

GermanyWhat we would like to see more is individuality of the furniture, artwork on the walls, rugs to give the rooms some warmth and luxury what is expected of a luxury spa hotel when entering the premises.
The location and its ambience is amazing. A stunning and very impressive place. The layout of the rooms was relaxing, comfortable, and inviting. … as well as suitable for long stays. The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast had a full offering from cooked food to the typical Italian sweets.
