How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe room was spacious, close to the city historic center. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, cheese and ham, yogurt with cornflakes, cakes and croissants.
We decided to rent a quadruple room (1 large double bed & 1 sofa bed) for a 3 nights stay, in order to be more comfortable and have each one of us his own bed. They charged us extra, in order to prepare with linen the second bed/sofa! The sofa bed was really uncomfortable! Another bad surprise was that the bathroom was outside of the room!!! We haven't been informed about that "detail" before our arrival!!! We had to cross the coridor, and possibly meet other guests, in order to go to the bathroom!!! In the room there wasn't any tea/coffee maker or electric kettle, as promised by the reservation! The room and the bathroon, even the trash cans, have never been cleaned during our stay!!! In addition to your reply, i add a photo of my confirmation email. I can't see anywhere that "the bathroom is in front of the private room!" I also don't see anywhere that "the kettle and coffee machine there is written that they are in the kitchen not in the room!" And finally I don't see anywhere that "since you wanted to add another bed for the sofa bed, of course there is the extra charge for adding the linen being that you add a bed!" I use exactly your words, that's why I add a photo of your reply too. About the cleaning of the room and the bathroom, unfortunately I haven't taken any photos, so I can't prove that.
Thank you for your review, I would like to point out that you had booked the Quadruple with 2 single beds since it cost you a little more, you thought well to cancel and take the triple with 1 King bed (2 beds), and a sofa bed (1 bed) , since you wanted to add another bed for the sofa bed, of course there is the extra charge for adding the linen being that you add a bed ( no of the breakfast), had already been informed on Booking chat of the possible addition of the sofa bed(because the reservation was for 2 people) , if you notice well on booking it says that the bathroom is in front of the private room. He could easily cancel since he had been informed a month before from his arrival at the facility, the kettle and coffee machine there is written that they are in the kitchen not in the room; The cleaning of the room and the bathroom( with attached dustbins) were cleaned every day and it is not only me to say it but also all the other reviews, you should not put in a bad light a business just because you are chased for the addition of 10€ of linen ( also written very well on the invoice) Greetings B&B Verdi. Mr. Sergio, it's useless that you change your answer every time I answer you, you can attach the photos if it's true, you haven't attached any photos because it's not true and you know it very well, there are other reviews that show the opposite and you just because you don't let the 10€ thing go down you continue to change your answer, Best regards!!

Verified reviewNice apartment with great location in the heart of the city of Lecce. Very quiet at night. The entrance to the building is clean and safe. The apartment is large, clean and warm. Close to all the main attractions in Lecce. The host was very kind, he was there for all our requests. Every morning he boiled hot water for me to make my coffee and tea. Breakfast is very good, varied and plentiful. I would recommend this accommodation to everyone and if we go to Lecce again, we will choose this accommodation. Great 10/10.

Although the bathroom is advertised as private, it is not ensuite, it is the first time EVER that I had to dress myself, unlock our bedroom door enter a public space unlock our private bathroom just to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and relock each door again... this "Private Bathroom" should be explained better. Also I understood the kettle/ tea making facilities were in our room and not in a LOCKED shared kitchen area down the corridor i was so looking forward to a cup of tea before bed. The bathroom did not have drinking glasses as standard to take medication, I know this isn't compulsory but even basic B and B s have a tumbler in the bathroom/bedroom. But saying that, this is not a basic B and B, it's more a luxury hotel room and the breakfast was terrific and Ciara and her partner were excellent hosts. Please accept these remarks as :helpful hints" but very important issues that maybe ye could address in the future . Many thanks for a wonderful stay.
