How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHosts we're exceptional. Very caring and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Very good breakfast and comfy bed. Excellent views of the gardens and mountains from the balcony. Location is very good and is a nice quiet place compared to Sorrento..

Verified reviewIt was ideal. It is located in a quiet but central area with views of the mountains. Hosted by Giuseppe and Mauro. Mauro prepared breakfast everyday at a time chosen by us. The choice was very varied and of high quality. He was also very knowledgeable about local transport and locations to visit. He also told us about all the local restaurants. We tried three recommended. Each one was excellent, reasonably priced and attended by locals. It was also nice to go to very different but authentic restaurants. The room and bathroom was pristine and a good size and the bed was very comfortable. We would recommend both the location - Vico Equense and the B&B Casa Assunta. The town is located between Pompeii and Sorrento with regular trains going either way daily.
many many thanks

Verified reviewMy stay was an absolute joy, everything about this place was a real pleasure, starting with very pleasant, flexible and attentive owner Giuseppe and the whole family. The room was exceptional, big & very comfortable bed, lots of pillows, very clean & luxurious bathroom as well as exceptionally equipped kitchen. Not to mention fresh and very tasty food this family provides to their guests. My only regret is that I could not stay longer as I would definitely wanted. If you happen to be in or around Vico Equense, I would strongly recommend that you consider staying at Casa Assunta. Location and quietness is guaranteed and you will surely enjoy being treated as a true guest during your stay. Ci vediamo, a presto! Grazie mille per tutti 🙏
many many many thanks

Verified reviewWe would stay here again. The small city is very nice with restaurants and services all within walking distance. The B&B's facilities are very nice - a large room and bathroom, very clean and modern. Perfect spot for a few nights or a month. The hosts, two brothers, are very accommodating and know what their guests expect.
Pillows and Mattress need improvement.
thanks

Verified review♥️Giuseppe and Mauro were very welcoming, kind, informative of local food fare and gracious. The accommodations were exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was made by Giuseppe at your leisure and to your liking with an abundance of quick eat options. They are very responsive and available to their guests. It felt like being in a close friend's home.♥️
That we couldn't stay longer!!
Many thanks!

Verified reviewIt was comfortable, clean, and a quiet location. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay great. They provided a wonderful breakfast and it was great to chat with them and learn a little about this area of Italy. They even gave us a tour of the garden area! We would return in a heartbeat.

Verified reviewA perfect base to explore the area from! Great connections to all of the surrounding attractions including Amalfi, Capri and Pompei. The B&B itself is in a quiet peaceful corner of the town. Giuseppe and Mauro are great, they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need, helping us to make the most of our time in the area, and of course they provided a brilliant breakfast. Can’t recommend enough!
Many thanks!

Verified reviewBright, spacious, clean room in a lovely setting. Lovely, varied and plentiful breakfast. Obliging hosts. Lovely terrace that doesn't get the evening sun. Vico Equense is a nice town with some lovely views and areas. We used it as a base for visiting Sorrento, Capri etc. The train to Sorrento costs €2.20 per person each way. Trains do not return late so we could not stay in Sorrento any evening for a meal. Taxis are available but we couldn't find them. The tourist office in Vico Equense seems to open randomly. There is no tourist information office in Sorrento, so do your research before you leave home.
The third bed in the room is only a camp bed (not shown in the pictures) which was disappointing as there is plenty of room for a single bed and we were there 5 nights. However,my adult daughter slept on it and found it ok. There were no brochures, maps, timetables etc. or any kind of information at the accommodation except for boat tours which the hosts will book for you. The hosts were lovely people but could only answer questions about Vico Equense and didn't seem to have much information about the surrounding tourist areas.
Generally I don't answer you have comments but unfortunately I find that this time I can't help myself. 1) first of all I am very sorry for the impression you had of us, usually it is the opposite! 2) I think it's not right to talk about all your negative impressions you had during your holiday: taxis, trains, info points.....they are not part of our B&B! 3) We have lots of info, brochures and maps and you just had to ask. We prefer not to display them all otherwise they would occupy the entire common area. - Casa Assunta is a B&B and not an info point. 4) As for the extra bed, I partially agree with you: it's slightly smaller, in proportion if compared to the large double bed but it's definitely not a camping bed: I don't think you go camping with a folding bed with metal structure. 5) sorry if we booked the tour for you...we thought we'd do you a good thing..... However, everyone sees things differently. I thank you for your 8 which is not bad anyway. Greetings Giuseppe and Mauro

Verified reviewCentrally located in a small safe relaxing town. We enjoyed our stay. Parking is not easy, therefore the host took us to a private parking where they have their own parking spot for extra 10 EUR. The place looks nice , it's well maintained and clean. The room was large and comfortable, with nice view from the windows. The extra blanket was helpful as was the heating that was turned on to our request. Our host was available to assist and very nice. He explained how to walk to the beach and recommended some restaurants. The ice cream/desserts shop down the main road was amazing. Al Buc restaurant he recommended had great pizza, we wouldn't recommend it for anything else. Breakfast in the nice kitchen was lovely.
We enjoyed our stay and recommend it. Only a few minor pointers for improvement 1. Room is big, clean, comfortable and full of light, it would be convenient if it had a mirror. 2. It would be a wise investment to replace the mattress into a better quality one. 3. A few minor amenities such as shampoo , conditioner, would be nice.
Grazie mille!

Verified reviewI can't recommend this b&b enough, as all the other reviews have said it is just wonderful. I went with my friend and without realising, by booking two rooms we actually had the whole place to ourselves. It's an apartment with two king size rooms off the kitchen area. Mauro the host was so kind and helpful, and Giuseppe was always on hand on whatsapp for any questions or to organise tours for us. They were amazing. We booked the Path of the Gods hike and Amalfi/Positano though Giuseppe and both were great. We couldn't have been happier to stay in Vico, it's so much quieter than Sorrento/Amalfi ect, but still with so many options of restaurants and cafes, easy access to public transport, and the most beautiful beaches (well worth the steep walks back). It was nice to go out for the day and come back to somewhere that wasn't back to back tourists everywhere. The rooms themselves are unbelievably quiet and peaceful too with some beautiful views. 100% would stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the area.
Nothing.
