How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe would like to express our great gratitude to Evaristo! We stayed with him 5 years ago and returned to him! He is the most attentive, caring, and hospitable host! He is always available and happy to help. Breakfast in his kitchen is a special treat, with hot ham and cheese sandwiches, yum! We would also like to thank him for the lovely gift of a bottle of wine upon our arrival! As we joked when we left, we will see you in 5 years))))
I liked absolutely everything

Verified reviewA wonderful and very handsome host! Thank you for the carefully prepared breakfast every day — it was rich, refined, and delicious. The room was extremely clean and beautifully decorated, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The bathroom was also very clean and easy to use. All necessities were fully provided. The location is very convenient, with a Carrefour, Chinese supermarket, and Chinese restaurants nearby. The metro station is very close, and it only takes about ten minutes to get to Termini by subway. Thank you again to the host!

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. A very good contact with property owner, before and during the stay. Room was clean and well equipped, with some extras provided by the owner (welcome wine and drinks already chilled in the fridge). The property is located in a quiet area, 2 minutes walk from the metro station - a huge advantage for those who want to easily reach the center of Rome and the main attractions. Breakfast was tasty with various options to select from.
Everything was perfect. If I visit Rome again, this will be my first choice. Thank you very much for your hospitality and meeting all our needs.

The bathroom was small and so was the shower. They make the best of a very tiny space.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect - communication with the host, comfortable room, delicious breakfast. I actually liked the fact that it wasn't in the city centre/touristic area, as the neighbourhood was calm and you could be around locals (it's a 10 min subway ride to all major attractions and the station is only 2 min away).

Verified reviewThe room was excellent, perfect for what I needed. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of options for different preferences.
My only complaint is the noise on the street outside all night long, but that isn’t something they can control.

Verified reviewI really enjoyed staying here for the 5 days and nights I was exploring Rome. The amenities are great. The private bathroom was a blessing, especially since I also stayed in B&Bs with only shared bathrooms during my Italy trip. The B&B is very close to the nearest station (Colbi Albani). The breakfast was also great - Evaristo's ham and cheese sandwiches were a highlight of my stay in Rome.
No complaints! The location is further from Rome's tourist destinations, but there is a train station so close by that it's just a matter of a 15-20 minutes ride.

Verified reviewCommunication with the proprietors Evaristo and Alicia was great throughout my stay. The location was very good, just by a metro station, and a short walk from the scenic Via Appia Antica park. Room was tidy and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. Overall heartily recommended!

Verified reviewReally enjoyed our stay at the Colfelice Rooms. The room had everything you could need, the bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was really good as was breakfast. The Location was perfect, around the corner from the Metro. Evaristo was an excellent host
Some parts of the room could do with a dust, there was a thick layer in a number of places. Also, as the sound proofing between the rooms was not good I wish TVs were not put in. The room next to us had the TV on all evening every evening we were there and early in the morning (around 6.30am). Surely this day and age if someone wants to be able to watch something while staying in a hotel then use a phone or tablet. I realise that this may just be me but a selling point to any hotel for me would be the absence of a TV!
Dear Stephen, Thank you so much for your review. All the compliments from guests are gratifying, but I also appreciate the criticisms because they give me the opportunity to try to offer my guests the most pleasant experiences possible, also intervening on those details that I may miss. We put the cleanliness of the rooms among the most important aspects to take care of, trying not to overlook anything. I was unable to understand in which points of the room you found dust, but we will pay even more attention to this aspect, you can be sure of it. As for the TV, some walls of the rooms have been soundproofed, and when the televisions were installed, I personally checked that, used at a medium volume, they did not cause any disturbance to the adjacent rooms. Evidently the guests who occupied the room next to yours, listened to the television at an excessive volume. Furthermore, my BB is located in an extremely quiet and silent position, so this may have amplified the perception of the only acoustic source, that is, the TV in the next room. I will look for a way to automatically limit the volume of the TVs, so that this inconvenience does not happen again. Thanks again!

Verified reviewLarge, comfortable bed, great shower and plenty of toiletries at your disposal, conveniente location, delicious breakfast, complementary wine, quiet neighborhood for sleeping … But the best thing about it was the hospitality! Evaristo and Alice were very helpful, friendly, accommodating and assisted us with everything we needed. I had been in Rome before and had a good experience in a hotel, but it was nothing like this. I’m definitely coming back!
