How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewAnna Maria is one of the loveliest hosts I’ve ever met. Nothing was ever an issue, the breakfast she puts on every morning is all local foods from family run shops and every morning it is different. The time taken to sit down and chat with you is also lovely and a really good personal touch. The room itself was lovely and clean as well. I would come back to Alberobello just to stay at Astra again.

Verified reviewEverything. We had an amazing time at Anna’s place. She took great care of the house and made sure everything was perfect for her guests. We felt truly welcome—just like coming home. Every morning, she prepared a different breakfast for us, always delicious and thoughtful. She also supports different local bakeries, so we enjoyed the freshest and most delicious pastries each day. It was a warm, comfortable, and memorable stay!

Verified reviewThe Trulli is very well designed. Very beautiful and extremely clean. Anna Maria is so kind and she did not show us anything but kindness. She took care of us very well, provided all necessary info and showed us her respect. Breakfast was great. Free parking nearby and plenty of spots even in high season. We will miss this place. We were so sad when leaving. Thank you so much Anna Maria for all your kindness. It was a unique experience for all of us. Your Trulli is amazing.

Verified reviewThis property is one of the most special places I have ever stayed. The trulli is exceptionally beautiful and set in delightful grounds complete with ancient olive trees. The host, Anna Maria, made the stay very personal and she did everything humanly possible to make the stay memorable and remarkable. How can you meet someone for two days and think of them as a friend? She also provided the best breakfast I have ever tasted. I would return in a heartbeat

Memorable delicious breakfasts — month of lettuce salads after this trip!! Perfect quiet location in the heart of everything, but away from the hordes of tourists. Peaceful large private yard with thousand year old historic olive trees. Magical host and place to stay! Highly recommend!

Verified reviewWe had the best 2 night stay in the Lux Trulli house at Astra. The accommodation was comfortable, with perfectly cool AirCon. It was wonderful staying in this unique property. AnnaMaria is an exceptional host, bending over backwards to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The breakfast is superb, filled with local produce and the garden is beautiful and relaxing. The car parking was easy and free thanks to Anna Maria. She also gave us some great local restaurant recommendations. We 100% recommend this experience.

Verified reviewQuiet, clean, really lovely garden. Nice breakfast. The owner showed us where we could park for free, which was excellent. The owner was very helpful with recommendations for local wineries and restaurants.
The air conditioning was not very good (we stayed in "trullo standard deluxe") - we stayed mid-July however it was cooler outside the trullo in the evening, than inside!! We told the owner who seemed to take it very personally. Her response was quite strange. In the evening she approached us and asked if we wanted a friend of hers to take a look at the air conditioning, but we were about to take a much-needed nap after a sleepless hot night and get ready to go out for dinner so we declined a person coming in.

I'm really sorry since my goal is to make you live a magical and unique experience in trulli restaurant with elegance and inside everything is new and perfectly functional like the air conditioning I worked with the technician and we made ourselves available to enter the trullo to check if the air conditioning worked. We immediately tried to accommodate any of your requests, but you didn't allow us to enter the trullo, because you closed yourself and didn't want anyone to enter. Only when you went away at your check out I saw that you had, the air conditioning machine completely turned off and that you were without Your young age did not make you understand the operation of the air-conditioned air, how it turned on and the various speeds However, I will be happy to have you back in the structure and to make you relive an unforgettable experience in real old trulli in the historic centre of Alberobello with a large enchanting garden Best Regards Anna Maria di Astra

Verified reviewThe Trulli house was beautifully maintained, very clean, quiet and comfortable. Each morning we had a great Puglian breakfast, including locally hand made cheeses, cured meat slices, fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt, bread, jams and a number of locally made sweets. They were delicious! The owner Annamaria was a great host who was very helpful with our travel plans and knowledgeable about the historical Trulli area which was about 100 meters away. We enjoyed relaxing in the spacious front yard in the afternoon shade of 300 year old olive trees. In our opinion, the booking.com rating in the very high nines accurately reflects the quality of this accomodation

Verified reviewWe had a truly wonderful time staying at Astra B&B, and it was made all the more special by the lovely host, Anna-Maria, who was an absolute pleasure to deal with, prior to, and during, our stay. The accomodation that we booked was a traditional trullo, and was pleasantly cosy, incredibly clean, and boasted a beautifully designed interior. The breakfast was lovingly prepared by Anna-Maria each morning, with the fresh goods all sourced from local farms and vendors in the area. Definitely the perfect way to start the morning! The accomodation itself is in the heart of Alberobello, and convenient to all the local sights of this beautiful commune. It is rich in both culture and history. The property has a large garden making it a tranquil and sweet getaway from our busy day of exploring all that Alberobello had to offer! As we had our own vehicle, Anna-Maria escorted us to a safe parking location approximately 5 minutes walk from the property, which was free. We were in love with everything that the accomodation offered. We would definitely stay at Astra B&B again, and highly recommend staying if you’re in Alberobello! Thank you to our new friend, Anna-Maria, for the most incredible stay to date!
