How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe rooms in the apartment works for us with the two bedrooms. We have stayed in this apartment before and find it convenient. Nice bathrooms also.
Half of the terrasse was covered with a plast cover and therefore not to be used. Hopefully this will be solved for a potentially next time. Unfortunately the Piazza Verdi has developed into something not positive. In the evening, part of the Piazza has developed into what seemed as a market place for drug dealing. Not very nice to come back to the apartment after dinner time.

Verified reviewThe location of the flat for a stay in Bologna is excellent, really central to all of the main sights and central old town of Bologna. It’s about 20 minutes walk from the Train Station, which is a bit of a hike when you have heavy luggage, but that’s no worry for us. It’s a huge apartment, with a large lounge and kitchen space and a cute balcony, which are lovely spaces to hang out and have breakfast with friends before heading out to explore. The hosts were lovely, meeting us at the apartment and making the twin bed into a double as well.
There wasn’t much at all to complain about the property. I would say that the shower in the main bathroom needs a big descale, but was still good pressure and powerful. The key to the main gate outside was very hard to open and we nearly got locked out on one evening so maybe look in at whether there’s a way to make that easier for guests. As you can tell I am knit picking here, it’s a really nice place. There is a bit of noise from the bar in the square but I didn’t find it to be too bad, just had some earplugs to sort that!

Verified reviewA very spacious apartment with a nice little terrace. Great location for seeing the sights, lots of bars and restaurants on your doorstep.
The bedrooms overlooked a noisy piazza full of students all day and night which made sleeping tricky. Great windows but still a humming. The second bedroom does not have a door which was also an issue. Anyone in the living room or kitchen would disturb the occupants in this 2nd bedroom. Given that sleep wasn’t easy this was a double whammy for those in the second bedroom. Beds could be better.

Verified reviewThe apartment was really good; spacious rooms with all facilities even a washing machine. And the apartment was located close to all the attractions and amenities.
As it is a university town and as the apartment was located very close to the cafes and restaurants, it got a bit noisy at night. But, since we were very tired by the end of the day, we slept soundly.

Verified reviewVery spacious rooms and lovely terrace. The facilities good but I would suggest a few upgrades in the kitchen.
It is located overlooking a square which is VERY popular among students in the evenings and as many people mentioned the noise is significant. We also witnessed a few drug deals being made tight under the windows of the apartment. The kitchen would benefit from bugger coffee maker or an additional one and more plates. You have only one set for 5 people.

Verified reviewVery spacious, comfortable rooms, different temperature setting for each areas plenty of kitchen tools, very clean and walking distance from the main attractions and restaurants.
It is located in the University area and above a good and cheap bar/bistrot often full of students and open until late. Despite very good insulating windows, there could be some noise at night that we easily managed with earplugs.

Verified reviewThe rental company was very easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and the person who met us at the property was sweet, helpful, and knowledgable about both the apartment and the surrounding neighborhood. All of the rooms in the apartment were giant by Italian standards. The apartment was heated prior to our arrival which we appreciated on a cold, wet day with our two-year-old. The neighborhood is walking distance to all major sites and some amazing restaurants.
The apartment windows face a popular bar (university crowd) just below the building which got loud at night. We brought a sound machine for our daughter and weren’t as bothered as our friend who had to wear ear plugs. The larger of the two rooms does not have a door to separate it from the living room. As a result, when our daughter was sleeping, we had to tip-toe around. We ended up hanging out on the patio a lot, which was a lovely little sanctuary.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent. On the negative side the apartment is on Piazza Verdi right above a Caffe with outdoor seating. It was very noisy, even with shutters and excellent windows. Bring ear plugs if you stay there. Nice sized bedrooms and the living area was very nicely sized. Water pressure good and showers were nice. Many very good restaurants in the area. Also good apitivo. Easy 20 minute walk to railroad station.
Very, very noisy at night. Heart of university area and the students party hardy. No elevator. We stayed for 2 weeks. Could have used more toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags to start. We made arrangements with Studio Vita for a taxi to pick us up in the morning at 8:45 to take us to the railroad station. Taxi never showed up. Tried calling Studion Vita before 9:00 but no one answered because they do not open until 9:00. When I reached them they tried to get us a taxi. We ended up walking to the train station and made our 9:30 train. Not really their fault. However, a number of people told us there is a taxi issue in Bologna, if we had known that we would have planned to walk in the first place.
Dear guest, Thanks for your feedback. The day before we booked a taxi for the time you requested, but unfortunately the following day there was a taxi drivers' strike. Our staff is available 24 hours a day, you probably used the number available during the day (9:00-19:00) We have another emergency number available all night (7pm-9am). Both telephone numbers are written on the Welcome Book inside the apartment, and in the message we send on Booking at the time of booking. We are so sorry for the inconvenience you experienced with the taxi. We work every day to guarantee the best stay for all our guests. We hope to host you again in our apartments. Best Regards, Reception.
