How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLocation was great, in the heart of everything but quiet street. Good to have a fridge where you could play shopping if required and the tea and coffee facilities were good in the communal kitchen area. Checking was very good and very informative from Danielle and breakfast was good also, good to be offered a sweet or savoury breakfast.
Bathroom area was very small and really could do with a good deep clean as there was mould on a lot of the grout and tiles. WiFi really needs to be sorted out as it's advertised there is Wi-Fi but we were unable to login on either of the days we stayed, apparently due to a fault, however previous reviews regarding Wi-Fi would suggest this is an ongoing problem. Furniture was cheap and basic.

Verified reviewVery nice property, in a very nice location. Close to everything. Elisa gave me a list of restaurants to visit in the area which were very good. She also helped me find parking for my rental. It was a unique stay in a heritage property with modern amenities.
I had assumed there would be breakfast included.

Charged me 15 extra for a late checkin which is not clearly noted on booking, had to be paid in cash. Also banged my head on showerroom which has a low ceiling.

It might have been overlooked, which is why we informed you about it as soon as we received your reservation! We would like to emphasize that, as a B&B, we do not have a 24-hour reception like hotels. To accommodate guests after 11:30 PM, we require the support of a staff member who needs to come to the property specifically for this purpose, and the extra fee helps cover this exceptional service. We always strive to make our guests’ stay as comfortable as possible, and our goal is to provide clear and transparent service. As for the showerhead, we understand the inconvenience and apologize for it. Our property, being a historic building dating back to the 1500s, retains the characteristic architecture of that period. This entails certain particularities, such as different ceiling heights compared to a modern home, which require us to adapt some solutions. Nevertheless, we strive to provide the utmost comfort while preserving the charm and authenticity of the B&B. We are truly sorry that your experience with us was impacted by your frustration about the cost of the late checkin. That said, we are confident you appreciated our availability to welcome you at 12:30 a.m., as well as the clean and comfortable environment of our property, which we strive to maintain for all our guests.

Verified reviewThe location in the historic old town and the historical and charming feel of the accomodation itself were the main aspects making my stay very enjoyable.... A 5 minute walk got me to busy tourist attractions .. while the accommodations were in a quiet peaceful area.... It was very close to a lot of good restaurants and eateries and many attractions were within walking distance.... No more than 15 minutes way. The host Elisa Gave me many great eating recommendations.. all of which turned out very good.... There was a lot to like with my stay at antiche volte....
The shower in the unit if updated would have made the unit very good.... As the unit has a lot of character and is charming and quirky.... Like living in a castle or old building but with newer conveniences.... I would have also liked to have known how to use the mosquito repellers provided... But No worries... I know for next time ...
