Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyBreakfast is ok, but nothing to write home about. Wifi was very unreliable, which is rather odd. Not the fault of the Hotel, but the bar downstairs plays extremely loud, mediocre live music from 19:00 to midnight. This makes the otherwise amazing rooms with balcony and sea view a double-edge sword: if you don't mind going to bed late every night, get the balcony with view if you can, it's really nice. If you'd rather be sure you can sleep, this might not be for you. The staff is well aware and are doing what they can do mitigate this problem, but their hands appear to be tied.
Location is great, the view is amazing, the hotel and the rooms are also very nice. Staff was very helpful.

RomaniaThe furniture is very old and could use some renovation.
The location is very good, right in the middle of the action. The room is big enough and the AC works well, which is very important during summer days. Also the reception staff is very welcoming and overall we had a pleasant stay. The breakfast is not exceptional but there are plenty of options to choose from. The highlight was, of course, the panoramic view we had from the balcony!

United KingdomBreakfast was OK, but not great. Slightly dated in furnishings etc Although the hotel has a bar and a terrace, all the residents went into the town hence it was lacking in atmosphere, which is a shame in some ways
Situated just a few steps down to the main square in Taormina. Nice clean large room, amazing views. Hotel finished with some beautiful art work. Hotel very quiet

United KingdomThe shower was difficult to use, constant loud music from below. The breakfast wasn’t that great but it was plentiful. The only real issue was the WiFi.
The terrace was the whole reason why I booked this place and it did not disappoint. The room was comfortable and clean and the lido with the shuttle bus was very good.

SpainIt’s a tacky hotel frozen in the 80-90’s with horrible decoration . Breakfast was really poor and you can hear live music till 12 pm, that’s ok if you’re on vacations but , every single night is the same repertoire . The poor guy hasn’t got voice . This city is amazing but try to avoid the week ends , too crowded . Hordes of people by the streets , all devouring pasta and pizza at the same hour … crazy! I think white lotus wasn’t good for this city .
The location is perfect , in the middle of the city. They take care ( after paying , of course) of your car when arriving. The city is on a hill so there are few park lots and a guy takes your car and give it you back if you need it . Ask the hotel 10 min before your arrival.

United KingdomNot the hotels fault but the place beneath it play live music until midnight each night. Got a bit sick of Mr Brightside and Wonderwall after 2 nights
Great location, really close to the centre of the Taormina town. We walked from the bus station and it was fairly hilly but the receptionist booked us a taxi for when we left which was super helpful. Balcony was great in the evening, good amenities.

ItalyThere is one BIG disadvantage which is probably not the hotel’s fault. There’s a bar right under the hotel. It has live music from 7PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT every single day. The singing is very loud and, honestly, awful. As well as the bar itself. They start with soft ambient music at 7PM, which is fine and you can still stay on your terrace and enjoy the view. But then their “party” starts and doesn’t finish till midnight. Rock music, pop music, drums… It really gave me a headache. To sleep, you must close the balcony door but even in this case you can hear everything, it just gets a bit less loud. Maybe something can be done about it
- Impeccably professional staff, polite, respectful, helpful. Just perfect. - I asked to change my room to get a better view. The managers did it for me, which I am very grateful for! - The view from the rooms on the 4th floor is breathtaking. Basically, you get your private view point. On the 2nd floor (where my first room was) it is less so. - The location is convenient, right in the center. - The hotel has shuttle buses to several beach clubs for a small fee of 16 euros. You get a return shuttle, a beach bed, a beach umbrella and even a welcome drink. - The room was very clean, the AC works well. - Breakfast is quite humble but still good for a 3* hotel. You get some cold cuts, 3 types of cheese, yogurt, boiled eggs, some fruit, a good choice of pastry, orange juice, coffee… etc

United StatesHowever, elevator works only between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. We arrived late and the elevator was not available so we had to carry luggage down a marble circular staircase. This hotel is not suitable for people who have problems walking as I do. Bathroom is spacious but there is a step to access it. The tub shower is a jacuzzi and again slippery and not friendly to those who need just a shower. In all fairness, I'm not sure if all rooms are the same. Before booking and if the individual has ambulatory issues they need to check.
The hotel was adequate and clean. Location is central to the town. It has a nice patio outside the room. my room had no view but other family members did.

United StatesStairs and elevator usage. We arrived late and the elevator could not be used between the hours of 9 P.M. an 6 A. M. So we had to carry our luggage to go down to our rooms. Stairs are marble and windy. I'm 82 so it was a bit difficult. Even getting to the hotel was a bit hard because of streets, so we had to walk a bit. I do not recommend this hotel if you are not ambulatory.
It was a nice room. Clean and adequate. There was a nice patio attached to the room which was great. Not too much of a view. However, it was nice to sit outside, relax and enjoy the fresh air.

United KingdomThe hotel is set over five floors with reception on the fourth & the exit door onto Taormina’s Corso Umberto on the first. However, the hotel switches off the only lift between floors from 20.30 to 06.30 every day. I am unsure why they do this but returning after 20.30 & having to climb up three flights of stairs to collect keys at reception (you are required to leave keys when you go out) is unacceptable. While just about OK for us, we observed elderly residents struggling. If it really needs to be switched off, surely this can be done much later in the evening. While not the fault of the hotel, we share other reviewers complaints about loud music from an adjacent bar every night until after midnight. Be warned if you like to retire to bed earlier
The hotel is an excellent location right in the middle of Taormina. While rather dated, the room was comfortable, well equipped & immaculately clean. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful & the breakfast offering was very good
