How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The rooms could definitely do with redecorating.
Breakfast was pleasant sat on the terrace, although overlooking the carpark. Our room was very 'tired' looking and would benefit from a facelift. The location was fine, not too far to the lake.

One of our family's rooms was in the economy part of the hotel (we got the last 2 rooms in the whole hotel that night). The room itself was very spacious, clean, and quiet, but the approach to it involves crossing a parking lot, entering a dark narrow hallway, and using a very small and old elevator to reach the top floor. When we left the room to go to dinner, the lights in the hall did not come on at all and we had to use our phone flashlights to find our way down the stairs in the dark.
Staff very friendly and helpful, even saving a street parking spot for our car right in front of the property. The front desk also recommended a restaurant for our dinner which was excellent, and only a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast is delicious with lots of fresh baked goods, fresh juices, and servers bringing made to order coffees.

It has a very good location and the city was easily accessible. It is very clean and the staff was great. The pool is small and freezing and our stay was in late July. The breakfast looked great but was only ok. Again, the staff was great but for the price, the place could have been better. They are charging Bellagio prices for an outside-the-wall Como experience.

The room was located between two storages. One with bed sheets and cleaning utensils and on the other side a mess with some private staff of some live-in staff. The lift was somewhat claustrophobic.
Air conditioning worked! The staff was friendly. Breakfast wasn't bad, I'd risk saying above the average.

As an older person it was a fair walk down to the old town of Como and back every day especially in 90 degrees heat when we stayed but this was not the hotel’s fault!
Secure car parking, comfortable bed & good choice of food for breakfast.

The swimming pool was very nice but unfortunately the surrounding area was small with just 2/4 loungers and the sun in the corner for a couple of hours each day
The buildings were quirky and clean. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was varied and very good.

The Aircon was non existent in one of the two rooms and this was not fixed. Looking at earlier reviews it seems a long standing issue.
Staff fantastic from start to finish. Location was good easy walk to Lake and a little quieter area than the old town so good to relax.

Our room only had a bath, with a hand shower head, which wasn’t really suitable for us. The floor was slippy in the bathroom because of the hand shower wetting the floor as there wasn’t a shower curtain.
