How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe really loved our stay here! The staff were so friendly and welcoming – you can feel the family spirit and the effort they put into everything. Carla at the reception was especially wonderful, always kind, helpful, and full of great recommendations.
The pool was a bit far away (about a 5-minute walk), but it wasn’t a big problem.

Verified reviewWe loved the location of this hotel as it was in a very quiet little village called Scala but only a 10 minute bus ride from Ravello. The bus was regular, most of the time. There were a couple of bars within a couple of minutes walk in the picturesque square. The hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. We did get some good advice from Carla who was very welcoming. We did use the pool at the hotel just down the road which was spacious and clean. It also had a bar to buy drinks. Breakfast at the hotel had a variety of items such as croissants, breads, eggs, cheese and meat as well as yogurt and fruit. The staff made a variety of great coffee and there was fresh juice. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to be away from the busy towns but within a few minutes bus ride of the beautiful towns of Ravello and Amalfi.
Some may want to be in a busier town but having visited them, I am pleased to have stayed in this hotel.

Verified reviewI LOVED THIS HOTEL! The staff were fabulous, I always felt safe and looked after. The room was wonderful - I booked a single bed single room with balcony, but I received a double bed in a very spacious room and loved it! The balcony was a massive highlight, complete with table and chairs. The views are spectacular in the area. The pool is located at the sister hotel (a few minute walk down the road), and was so stunning. Towels, sunbeds and umbrellas are provided, the pool staff were attentive and helpful, pool was clean and you can order food and drinks for lunch around the pool. Buffet breakfast was varied and satisfying, I looked forward to it every day. Free wifi was great, location is a bit out of the way considering the attractions of the Amalfi Coast but once you get the hang of the public transport its very easy to get around and I ended up loving the hotel location being a bit more out of the way. Staff also do daily cleaning of your room (if you want it) which was really nice to come back to after a day out. Overall loved this place and would love to come back

Verified reviewThe location was amazing close to the Sita bus which runs frequently. There is a mini mart directly across and some great little coffee shops within meters. The views were great and really close to Ravello and a direct bus to Amalfi which then gives access to other locations. The lady Carla at the front desk is always quick to help with any queries and we loved her !
If anything for us it was the stairs with the amount of luggage we had but that’s our fault but the stairs also do give the place alot of character. And maybe the pool it was close but when it’s hot it seemed far away but it was great when you were there!

Verified reviewThe place is comfy, clean, organized, convenient and accessible. If you like walking (stairs too) and nature, this place is the perfect choice for all adventures: we walked from Scala to Amalfi and Ravello and it was stunning! Of course you can go by bus everywhere too.. I also recommend you to see the Duomo of San Lorenzo (Scala). Beware of mosquitos if they like you the most. The pool is NOT right there but it’s easily reachable and you can eat near there too. Breakfast was complete and staff were always helpful and accommodating: a special thanks goes to Carla that was friendly, open and always with a welcoming smile…she knows everything :) With a bit of sadness we left this beautiful place but like a Marvel hero: we will return!

Verified reviewAmazing view! Everyone was really nice and helpful! There are buses to Amalfi and you can walk to Ravello. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the Amalfi coast! It’s 20 minutes to Amalfi by bus and then you can take a bus or boat anywhere. The room was amazing and the town is very pretty!

Verified reviewPosition and pool was stunning looking over Amalfi a must to visit. The bus takes 17 minutes to get from the square to Amalfi town centre with beautiful leathe shops restaurant and shops. A visit to Capri and 4.5 hour trip around Amalfi is a must and not expensive. The best holiday we’ve been on. The fast train https://italiatren.com/en took us to Maranello (North) to Ferrari Lamborghini museum’s Pavarotti museum and theatre then to Rome, Naples and Amalfi all in 10 days.
Position pool people breakfast and staff. Not much to like really.

Verified reviewView and good value for money comparing to the rest in amalfi coast. (Only 15' driving to the beach)
Room didn't have towels. Had to wait 20' after shower to get them. The room we get didn't have great view as advertised and we had a surprise when entered the room with a cockroach waiting in the room (alive)

We were booked into Albergo la Margherita ,when we arrived we told we were not staying there but were booked into Hotel Guiseppina which was another 10 mins walk down the road. Very confusing, and a hot walk. No Kettle

Verified reviewSmall, comfortable hotel near Amalfi. The room we were in was not big, but it was comfortable and had the most amazing view overlooking Ravello and the valley. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made our stay that much more pleasant. Another very big advantage was the fact that we had private parking at a partner hotel, 2 minutes walking distance away, which in the Amalfi area is a must have! All in all, this was the ideal place to stay for a nice, mostly quiet vacation near Amalfi (15 - 20 minutes by car), but away from the crowded, noisy streets right on the coast.
The one flaw that I found is that they could do a bit more to soundproof the rooms, as the noise coming from motorcycles on the main road going down to the coast woke me up a few times.
