Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome may want to be in a busier town but having visited them, I am pleased to have stayed in this hotel.
We loved the location of this hotel as it was in a very quiet little village called Scala but only a 10 minute bus ride from Ravello. The bus was regular, most of the time. There were a couple of bars within a couple of minutes walk in the picturesque square. The hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. We did get some good advice from Carla who was very welcoming. We did use the pool at the hotel just down the road which was spacious and clean. It also had a bar to buy drinks. Breakfast at the hotel had a variety of items such as croissants, breads, eggs, cheese and meat as well as yogurt and fruit. The staff made a variety of great coffee and there was fresh juice. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to be away from the busy towns but within a few minutes bus ride of the beautiful towns of Ravello and Amalfi.

ItalyReally good hospitality from the staff which is available to help you with any kind of necessity. You can enjoy the breakfast from a terrace with view every morning. Swimming pool is also available. The place is very close to the bus stop which make also easy to move to other tows (Ravello, Amalfi). Recommended if you stop in Scala.

AustraliaIf anything for us it was the stairs with the amount of luggage we had but that’s our fault but the stairs also do give the place alot of character. And maybe the pool it was close but when it’s hot it seemed far away but it was great when you were there!
The location was amazing close to the Sita bus which runs frequently. There is a mini mart directly across and some great little coffee shops within meters. The views were great and really close to Ravello and a direct bus to Amalfi which then gives access to other locations. The lady Carla at the front desk is always quick to help with any queries and we loved her !

The place is comfy, clean, organized, convenient and accessible. If you like walking (stairs too) and nature, this place is the perfect choice for all adventures: we walked from Scala to Amalfi and Ravello and it was stunning! Of course you can go by bus everywhere too.. I also recommend you to see the Duomo of San Lorenzo (Scala). Beware of mosquitos if they like you the most. The pool is NOT right there but it’s easily reachable and you can eat near there too. Breakfast was complete and staff were always helpful and accommodating: a special thanks goes to Carla that was friendly, open and always with a welcoming smile…she knows everything :) With a bit of sadness we left this beautiful place but like a Marvel hero: we will return!

SerbiaThe Wi-Fi signal was quite unstable throughout our stay, which made it difficult to stay connected. Additionally, the bed was actually two single beds pushed together instead of a proper double, which affected the comfort a bit.
Beautiful, scenic location with a stunning view. The hostess, Carla, was exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering great advice during our stay. Having access to the pool was a wonderful bonus and made the experience even more enjoyable.

United KingdomPosition pool people breakfast and staff. Not much to like really.
Position and pool was stunning looking over Amalfi a must to visit. The bus takes 17 minutes to get from the square to Amalfi town centre with beautiful leathe shops restaurant and shops. A visit to Capri and 4.5 hour trip around Amalfi is a must and not expensive. The best holiday we’ve been on. The fast train https://italiatren.com/en took us to Maranello (North) to Ferrari Lamborghini museum’s Pavarotti museum and theatre then to Rome, Naples and Amalfi all in 10 days.

RomaniaThe one flaw that I found is that they could do a bit more to soundproof the rooms, as the noise coming from motorcycles on the main road going down to the coast woke me up a few times.
Small, comfortable hotel near Amalfi. The room we were in was not big, but it was comfortable and had the most amazing view overlooking Ravello and the valley. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made our stay that much more pleasant. Another very big advantage was the fact that we had private parking at a partner hotel, 2 minutes walking distance away, which in the Amalfi area is a must have! All in all, this was the ideal place to stay for a nice, mostly quiet vacation near Amalfi (15 - 20 minutes by car), but away from the crowded, noisy streets right on the coast.

United KingdomA small issue was the bathroom was quite compact with a small shower unit (luckily I’m quite petite). Also the bed was a small single (not a standard 3ft) so didn’t sleep too well as each time I turned over (as a restless sleeper) had to stop myself falling out of the bed.
Excellent quiet location high in the mountains but regular buses down to Amalfi. Very friendly hotel with great staff 😊. Single room had air con, fridge and a balcony with great views. Good breakfast choices. The pool was at the sister hotel approx 5 min walk.

RomaniaWe were very satisfied with this accommodation. I could say it was a wonderful experience in terms of quality, price, and the location of the hotel. The view is stunning, and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean, and cleaned daily. The staff are very kind, empathetic, helpful, always smiling, and ready to assist with any information you need. Besides the fact that the location is very accessible and close to most attractions, you also benefit from free parking, a free (and very delicious) breakfast, and free access to the hotel pool. I highly recommend it.

United KingdomShower was a little bit to small and the curtain did not hold very well the water from coming out of the shower base
We loved the location, easy travel to Amalfi only about 25/30 minutos by bus or scooter! Breakfast was great , plenty of choice and the croissants were to die for , also loved that everyday there was a different cake/pastry to choose from! We loved the view of the bedroom and everything was so comfortable and clean! BIG shout out to CARLA, such a lovely person and amazing energy , she made sure to tell us everything we needed to know, we always loved to talk to her and we do think her person makes a big difference to the place, we were sad we could not say goodbye and tell her more about our adventures, would definitely go back again!

The hotel is stunning, offering breathtaking views from the terrace, clean, spacious and comfortable room, and Carla, who greeted us at reception, was exceptionally warm and welcoming. She made us feel right at home and provided us with plenty of excellent recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. We also enjoyed the fantastic pool at the nearby Villa Giuseppina, where the staff were equally friendly. The breakfast at the hotel was outstanding. We highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers relying on public transportation, as the bus stop in Scala is just a short five-minute walk away. On our next trip to Amalfi coast, we will definitely book there again.
