How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We were told to park in a paid parking lot when there’s free parking on the street, the safe didn’t work, the bed was uncomfortable and the breakfast was awful.
We're surprise about your review. About the parking, we suggest many possibility; you can decide where you prefer park the car, is your choice. About the safe, we fixed it and you didn't tell us any other problem during you staying (three days). At least the breakfast; the 99% of our guests appreciate it very much, but we'll do all we can to satisfate the 100%..... All the best and kind regards.

The only thing that i didn t like, was the bed, because it was made up of two smaller beds beds.

I mentioned I had a bad foot and had had to change my plans due to that. ( I was now solo) They then put me in a room at the top of the hotel with extremely steep stairs. No offer to help me up the stairs, ( big suitcase travelling for 8 weeks) and when I asked for help down they said all too hard. The staff couldn’t offer any advice on what to do in the area.
We're really surprise for your opinion about the hotel staff. We assigned you the room that you've booked. There was a massive message exchange with you, before arrival, where we explained many times to you that here there's no train station (the nearest is 30 km far) and with is the best way to reach our hotel and for moving in the area. We also answered kindly at every your request during your staying and we tried to help you in everything. We're sorry if wasn't enough, we'll try to do better than this for the future

Verified reviewAbsolutely brilliant location, couldn’t have asked for a better area to stay. Staff were brilliant from start to finish. And the hotel was spotless.
Rooms were quite dark, felt a bit like being in a prison cell, the window was small but the lighting and decor could’ve lightened the room and some mirrors to make it feel more spacious. The bathroom is dated and the shower was tiny, had to sit on the toilet to shave my legs. If it were my hotel I would modernise and maybe change bathroom to a wet room. I’d definitely pay more to stay in a more modern yet authentic room as it was a little time location and could be a real gem. There were some extremely noisy Americans staying and I was kept awake by them shouting as the lobby is not shut off and the noise travelled up to the room 103. I’m aware this is not the hotels problem, but maybe the door should be shut to the stairs and just use the loft so it’s not keeping people awake wed guests are rowdy.

Unfortunately the television in my room was not working and was not fixed despite my requesting it be attended to. I also had a fair-sized lizard in the shower. The receptionist was very helpful and assisted me with a change of rooms. Not being a fan of reptiles, I requested assistance to resolve the issue and she instantly obliged. with the room change.

Bar fridge only turned on when in the room so nothing stayed cold because we weren’t there much. Seriously understaffed. They charged a 5€ fee to use a towel for an unheated pool. The one receptionist basically did everything from bartending, to cleaning the pool, helping with breakfast as well as attending to check-ins and checkouts. She was hardworking and amazing whereas other management was nowhere to be found. I hope they appreciate her.

Verified reviewThe breakfast is absolutely amazing. Very simple selection. But oh...My...god... the ingredients are of high quality. Everything from the orange juice to the salami.
Facilities are a bit outdated. Could use an overhaul one day.
