Everything has been perfect

The Dimora di Chiara is located in the historical center of Matera with a breathtaking view on the old city. We spent 2 nights there, me, my wife and 2 children (10 y old). Luca and his staff have been super friendly and helpful, giving us great suggestions about the restaurants, city attractions and also about a Guided Tour of the City (warmly suggested) . For breakfast we got complementary local backed “focaccia and panzerotti”

The shower was old and leaking in the side. Making the water pressure low.

Location was prime however we had difficulty finding the property due to Matera's geography. However the host was really helpful and he came out to guide us to the property when we were lost. They were even nice to get us a room upgrade. The bathroom door was a bit troublesome but we stayed for one night and it didn't bother much as otherwise the rooms were pristine and the hosts were excellent and helpful.

We had a lovely one night stay in the queen suit after a last minute decision to extend our stay in Matera. The suit is very spacious with stunning views from every window. The service was great! Even though we booked it so late minute, the owners helped with check in as soon as possible and offered to assist us with tours and restaurant recommendations and reservations. The shower and bed were very comfortable. It was lovely to have a drink/breakfast on the little patio, staring at the gorgeous sassi. It has all the amenities for a very comfortable stay, including a hair dryer, much-needed air conditioning and small coffee/breakfast station with toast and jam, juice, water and coffee. The location is fantastic, near all the main sights. I would however advise to pack light as there are still a few steps that you need to take and the steers of Matera are quite slippery. Just note, as advertised there is no WiFi in the rooms, only the reception area. Just note that the Google maps location is wrong. Thankfully the owners will arrange to meet you at a meeting point and take you to the accommodation.

No access to wifi as I had read about in the reviews before booking. Access to the room is via a locked gate. It would be helpful to have a working light above the gate for safety and ease of getting in. It didn’t affect us or matter to us but there wasn’t a bathrobe or coffee maker as listed.

The tv worked but no stations which was not a big deal at all because we only slept in the room as we were out all day and evening.

Teresa is an exceptional host, met us to lead us to her facility, showed us our room, suggested and booked on a city walking tour, which was excellent and great value. She suggested a few restaurants and made us a reservation. The breakfast provided was superb, everything was fresh and beautifully presented in the courtyard. Teresa was very prompt and detailed in answering questions prior to booking and also after booking. We would recommend this boat and site to everyone.

It is interesting to have the experience in a cave but that is really it. It's very humid in the room so we had the AC on at night, it gets cold. But like I said, that's the experience you pay for. The price is ok cuz there are a lot more expensive alternatives, I wouldn't bother with those. The location is very good, the staff is nice, they help you with whatever you need, they arranged a city tour and gave advice on restaurants. The room is clean, big. The breakfast is nice and coffee great!

Perfect location, quiet and in walking distance to all areas. spacoius room with balcony, fridge and coffee machine. dedicated private balcony for breakfast. A problem with heating and hot water was solved in a very friendly manner. Effective air condition. Don‘t miss the „Lucany“ restaurant just around the corner!!!

This is an amazing property, it is an original cave that has been renovated with beautiful tasteful decoration and the owners have gone to the trouble to make sure every aspect of your stay is perfect. Breakfast was really lovely and the room has lots of extras. The shower was great. Its location is so beautiful in the centre of Matera’s UNESCO caves. This is a hidden Gem. The staff were lovely they were helpful and friendly they even went to the trouble of meeting us at the car park to take us to the property.

There was no Wifi in the room and few electrical sockets. I had some trouble finding the property. I arrived on foot from Via Don Luigi Sturzo. My advice would be to approach from Via delle Beccherie rather than Via D’Addozio. This will result in a short walk part way downhill to the property instead of going all the way down into the centre to then walk back uphill the other side. I was grateful that I stored my main bag back in Bari.

The property is well-located in the historic Sassi. The member of staff who welcomed me was very warm and friendly. I had an early check out and she really tried her best to provide a good breakfast for me. The room was clean, functional and tastefully decorated.
