Reviews of Croce di mezzo

We stayed one night in Montalcino and wanted a winery experience. This winery is very country oriented and is appropriately priced. In the vineyard country there is wild grass, wild flowers, the wind blows and things can get dusty. If you are looking for a 5star modern city experience this cute country winery might fall short for you. If you like good food, nice people and a working winery with an authentic Italian country side feel then this winery will be a good fit. Especially for a family with little kids, there is a pool and a play structure. The AC in the rooms worked very well. The bathroom was nicely appointed. The server at dinner allowed us to taste a few of their opened bottles of wine because we were undecided on which to order with dinner. Overall I was happy to have stayed there.

The photo online with the restaurant nicely set with linen and glassware was not what we saw. Maybe they had just had an event because the interior had tables pushed together, chairs stacked and tables were bare. We had dinner on the patio which was not as nice and dusty.

The bedding was dirty, with hair on the pillows and a strong smell.

Big 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms apartment in a nice area, very close to Montalcino - 3km. Very nice host. Free parking.

A little to much noise, to early in the morning from the workers, but they have a winery there, so nothing can do.

Liked how close it was to where we needed to be. Nice and clean.

The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The on location restaurant was very good with a good assortment of Tuscan dishes to choose from. The location was a 5 minute drive from Montalcino.

The only real complaint would be that the cooking utensils and cookware were a bunch of mis-matched second hand pots and pans.

We loved the location; only 5 minues drive into Montalcino city centre. The size of the family room was huge! The property has a restaurant and wine shop on site. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely good value for money.

There were no blankets and the night we stayed happened to be quite cold. Also the bathrooms could use an upgrade. Other than that it was a great place for a quick stay.

dinner food was good and Staff Vivianna was sweet.

They charged for breakfast...most places don't plus it was just ok -cold eggs. grounds and pool area need some upkeep.

Lovely setting and beautiful views. Great location to explore Montalcino and the surrounding areas. The swimming pool is also great.

Nice hotel. Good pool size and lounge area. Very good restaurant: the wine and the food totaly fulfiled our expectations. Viviana was super friendly and helful during the whole stay. The apartament was renovated not long ago and had air conditioning in all rooms. We had a wonderful private terace under the grape pergola

The sound of the the neighbours above us was rather annoying. There was a lack of soundproofing.

We absolutely love the place! It was beautiful, comfortable, warm (we visited in March) and well equipped.

Stayed in 2 bedroomed apt. Newly renovated and modern. Comfortable beds for tall people. Locations great for exploring nearby sights. Enjoyed a meal at their restaurant. Viviana was a kind host

The apartment was very comfortable. The welcome bottle of wine was a treat. There were a few places to go for dinner that were a short walk from the apartment and the food was great. We also had breakfast at the little restaurant at the campground which was just behind the accommodation which was very convenient. And Viviana who runs it was amazing!

The bathrooms need more towel rails and the bedroom with the ensuite needs some wardrobe space for hanging clothes. There was very little space to put clothes.
