Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing :)
The room was nice and clean and was cleaned daily with fresh towels, our room also came with a large balcony. The pool area is great , plenty of space and access to the bar and pool towels if needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay . We also ate at the hotel restaurant which has a very nice view of the coast. The hotel is also in a great central location near the train station for travelling to Sorrento / Naples etc, so you have access into Sorrento for dinner etc .

United KingdomPool opens at 9.30 but pool attendant was putting towels on beds before it opened. When asked he said they had paid extra to reserve favourite spot . I personally think it was for locals . Disappointed as I got no response to me asking why this was the case when I emailed the hotel.
Nice clean and close to main town

AustraliaWe chose to stay at Vico Equense because it would be quieter than Sorrento however the location was probably a bit too quiet for us especially with older teenagers. We didn't manage to eat at the hotel restaurant due to functions that were being held during our stay which was disappointing. We were not told in advance what nights the restaurant would be closed. The functions could be a bit noisy but finished early enough not to disturb our sleep. We stayed for 4 nights and there were 2 functions during our stay.
Aequa Hotel exceeded our expectations as our rooms were much nicer than in the photos. The shady gardens were lovely to relax in during siesta time and while we didn't use the pool it was a great area, especially for those with children. Breakfast was tasty with a good selection of food and the view from the restaurant was spectacular. Staff were helpful and friendly. It was an easy walk to the town square and the bus and train station. It was only a short train ride to Pompeii and Sorrento.

United KingdomThe only thing was you can't not pay for drinks and food until you are checking out so it is hard to keep track of how much you owe
Excellent location on the main street. Very close to bars and restaurants. The pool was fantastic and never too overcrowded.

United KingdomThere were some issues with people putting towls out on the beds early,
Great location, very close to the train station, short walk. The hotel was very well kept and clean. Nice pool, very clean, and a good size. We did arrive on a busy pool day and had to wait to get sunbeds. The restaurant was good, we ate one night as there are so many restaurants to choose from in the area. The views from the hotel are fantastic so do try and get a sea view when booking.

United KingdomLack of local and hotel information available. Rooms and bathroom are not what I would rate as 4* however, communal areas are better maintained. Lack of sunbeds due to residents occupying beds with towels all day only to sit for one hour by poolside.
Location is great. Can walk to all kinds of shops and restaurants. Train and bus station only few mins walk too. Staff are friendly and polite. Good selection at breakfast. Views from room were amazing.

United KingdomBreakfast was fair - sometimes items were not replenished quickly. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the comfort rooms. Our room was a huge family room but for me it was disappointing as had recently been refurbished with very modern fixtures and fittings unlike our friends neighbouring room which was still furbished in quirky style shown in Booking.com photos - depends on on your taste. Limited toiletries provided. There is a 15 euro charge per day for car parking and no nearby off street parking.
Location fantastic - few minutes walk from the train station. Few minutes walk to local bars and restaurants. Reception staff very helpful and provided information on train services etc. At this time of the year older clients so no crowds around the pool.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were brilliant, very helpful and friendly. The location is great, we really liked the town. It’s a perfect place to set off to explore the local area and sites such as Pompeii. The hotel was nice, a little dated in parts, but fit our needs well.

PolandThe balcony was really narrow, there was just one chair (for 4 persons room) and no space to dry the swimming suits or towels.
Nice small city, great location with the sea view (from higher floors). Nice swimming pool and nice sorrounding garden. Restaurant with the sea view. Great variety of food for breakfast. Easy to get by train from Napoli or Sorrento and 5 min walk from the train station.
