Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was less luxurious than apparent from the photographs. No sign of the telescopes, microwaves or free-standing baths as shown. Only one chair, so a bit of a disappointment.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast (continental) delivered to the room exactly at the requested time. Superb view, plenty of storage space.

EstoniaAll was good! Maybe jst a minor thing - the lightning was automatic, and sometimes it disappears just under the shower :) But it was light anyway.
Very comfortable beds, super breakfast delivered directly to your room, and excellent service. Very nice, spacious and modern room. We also got some great recommendations on where to go and what to visit—things I didn’t find on Google. I liked the lounge with the honesty bar and its amazing view. It felt like an extended part of your room. The room was on the 20th floor - the highest building in Reykjavik – what a view! Just 5 min walk to the main street with restaurants and pubs. Enjoyed the stay very much!

United KingdomJust to reiterate, the room and our overall stay were a solid 9/10, but a few small improvements could make it a perfect 10. -Parking: Convenient but expensive, costing around £2 per hour, which adds up over multiple days. We parked directly outside the hotel rather than using the building’s underground parking. You have to ‘check in’ to start the charge and ‘check out’ to stop it. Ideally, parking should be free or reasonably priced (e.g., £5 per day) and fully managed by the hotel. -Lighting: We couldn’t figure out how to turn on the bathroom lights without switching on all the other lights in the room. While we didn’t ask staff for help, it should be more intuitive. -Noise: As light sleepers, we’re sensitive to room noises. There was a hum from the wine fridge, which we ended up unplugging, and one night, we heard a constant whine from what we think was the HVAC system, even though everything was switched off. -The duvets were quite small, especially for a taller person. We would have appreciated a king size duvet for a king size bed. -Room maintenance: A few areas in the bathroom showed signs of wear and could use a touch-up. Also, the freestanding towel rack in the bathroom was awkwardly placed, partially blocking the opening glass door which we were worried about breaking. Despite these very minor issues, we had a fantastic stay!
Great location, just a 5–10 minute walk to bars and restaurants. We stayed in a corner room with stunning views of the city and bay. which got even better at night! The room itself was exceptional—spacious, stylish, and well-equipped. The bathroom was beautifully with high-end finishes, while the main area included a cozy sofa sitting space. The bed was large and comfortable, with a variety of pillows to choose from. Amenities were excellent: coffee and tea-making facilities, a wine fridge, and a TV with a Bluetooth-enabled sound system for music. The room also had a desk and plenty of conveniently placed power sockets. The overall design felt premium, with solid wood flooring, sleek cabinetry, and a mix of concrete, glass, and marble in the bathroom. We also had a superb breakfast served to in the room. The service was excellent. We didn’t spend much time in the shared area, but it featured a beautifully designed space with stunning views, comfortable seating, and an honesty bar stocked with a great selection of drinks and snacks. No pool or gym available but this was not important to us on this trip. A fantastic stay - 9/10!

United KingdomThe design of the shower/wet room lead to water on the bathroom floor which was very slippery. Very smooth flooring once wet can be dangerous for persons with mobility issues

Truly phenomenal! What an amazing stay. The view, amenities and ambience exceeded my expectations by tenfold. The breakfast spread was elite. The location is extremely walkable but also has many transport links and also many group tours pick up locally. Staff were warm, welcoming and went above and beyond to assist me in any need that I required. Highly recommend and if I were to ever return to Reykjavik this would be my hotel of choice.
