It's a very authentic farm stay, with a friendly dog and horses all around. The apartment has also very authentic, Icelandic countryside vibes - not too fancy but very clean and comfy.

Some people might want more bells and whistles in the accommodation, but I don't mind. It's good value for what we paid, and we were happy and comfortable.

Gorgeous location and our hike to the private hot spring was an unexpected delight. It was adjacent to a beautiful waterfall that I wasn’t previously aware of. The family kindly let us interact with the horses, dog and cat and we learned a great deal about the property by chatting with the hosts. The kids welcomed mine to play and mine didn’t want to leave. Also the guest Netflix account allowed for a movie to settle them in at night.

Perfectly located near Varmahlid, we stayed after we drove the road 35, very convenient. It's a spacious enough apartment for a family of 4, with a fully equipped kitchen. It's located on a farm, and the owners live right next door. We had only a short time, we would love to stay longer and hike around (there is a waterfall nearby). Recommended, also because of the friendly dog and a cat that come to say hi upon checkin.

There’s a book and guidance to a special hot spring and waterfall nearby which is also a must if you stay there. Please do take a walk and see the Horses and little river in vicinity. We really enjoy the vibes there.

Hardly find it

Smooth arrival and check-in, the apartment has a separate access. Thank you for the information about the accommodation - the place has its own history. Beautiful morning walk from the accommodation to the waterfall and hot spring, the dog accompanied us... Whatever was needed, communication with the landlords was lightning fast and problem-free.

There is everything you need in this apartment. We really enjoyed our four night stay. The owners were very friendly. We also liked the dog there which enjoyed some pets :)

Quiet, peaceful, welcoming. Excellent and firm beds. The owner waited to let us in later than the scheduled time of arrival and was very gracious about it. Very spacious. Nice kitchen.

The fire sensor was beeping through the night as a battery was to be replaced.

Location was great! Guesthouse was clean and comfort. Had everything that we needed. Beautiful surroundings. Visited Fosslaug located close by. It was amazing!

Great place, in fact a full flat with all the ammenities you could expect from the place like that. Very clean and cosy. Very strategically placed especially if you use F35 coming from the interior of the island.

Very calm place with animals around, surrounded just by the nature but very close to Route 1. The apartment was clean, fully equipped for cooking. Appreciate two separate rooms for sleeping.

A very peaceful and pleasant place!

Shower/drainage could be a bit better.

Location off main road was easy and absolutely beautiful. Apartment was very comfortable and clean. Waterfall and Natural warm bath within walking distance was an added bonus we really loved. Host was so welcoming and educated us on their horse training program. Wish we could stay another night it was so comfortable and scenic.

Spacious and clean. Located on a working farm surrounded by cute horses and dogs. Also a really beautiful area that is a bit off the beaten path so I’m really glad we made the effort to stop in. Central to alot of horse tours and hiking opportunities. Really great experience!

Not a dislike just more of a potential restriction for late-night travelers: the owner meets you to let you in - which she was very friendly and prompt but does mean it’s not 24 hour check in (as she has a life too) so we just had to adjust our travel to make sure we could meet her in time (9 PM latest check-in). Just something for travelers to keep in mind!

We loved our stay at Sauerbær Apt, even for just 1 night. We felt homey right away. Friendly welcoming. Very big apt., comfortable beds, good shower, everything clean. Its the only apt, so it was very quiet. Lovely dog. Beautiful waterfall Reykjafall and Fosslaug (hot spring) 25 min walk or 4 min by car (with 10 min walk). We were almost alone there. Would have loved to stay longer!
