Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe Prime Minister building does not have an elevator and I had to carry two 50 lb luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Otherwise, all was perfect!
The room was in an excellent location - close to the center of town. Our room was spotless and the breakfast was more than any two people can eat. We stayed in the Prime Minister building and the room we stayed in was bigger than any hotel could offer for the price.

United StatesNothing!
The amazing front desk staff at the reception helped us get to our room after storing our luggage all day. They also booked excursions and taxis for us. They shared valuable information about the various tour companies and discussed with us what might best meet our needs. The room itself was well equipped to allow us to eat-in, and the daily breakfast drop off of the basket of food the afternoon before and fresh bread in the morning was stellar. We couldn't even eat it all! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

NetherlandsPractically nothing. There was one moment the 'do not disturb' was hanging and the staff walked in. I didn't like that (had it been 30 seconds earlier, I would have been very disturbed) but, it was a 1 time occurrence.
Location was perfect, short walk to sea side, sights, shops and food. Room had all the essentials and was very comfortable. The windows/doors could open which allowed for a fresh feeling in the room. Enjoyed the self check in/check out and the honesty bar. The breakfast was excellent. Maybe too much bread (couldn't eat a whole loaf a day so a lot was wasted) but the bread was delicious and had very good meats, cheeses, vegetables and more to go with it.

United StatesI wish they would have told us about the construction around the main building. Also some knowledge about several buildings being under the residences would have helped. Just for knowledge purposes. There were no mirrors in the rooms, except for the one in the bathroom. This made it challenging to get ready for a family of more than 2 people.
Conveniently located. Self-sufficient. Absolutely loved it. The breakfast basket was awesome idea. Made you feel special.

United StatesWe had asked in advance for the beds to be separated in to 3 twins from 1 king 1 twin. This was acknowledged in a message in our Booking.com account but the hotel hadn’t received it. It was easy to get this done after we checked in though and they were responsive to the reminder.

United StatesI found it odd that the road the RRAH was on was completely demolished (under construction seems vague and doesn’t tell the full story). I wish that the communication before arrival had stated this because the construction made it next to impossible to find the hotel (GPS didn’t know the road was completely gone).
We loved our junior suite, the location was excellent , and access to a laundry facility was a plus. We would recommend! The location made it so easy to walk and access the sites.

United StatesWe can't think of anything we didn't like.
The apartment was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The location is very central. Walking distance to a lot of things such as restaurants, whale watching tours etc. The breakfast and the fresh bread every morning were excellent. I'm glad I included the breakfast in our stay. You get a lot of food, fresh fruit, veggies, milk, juice, lunch meat, cheese, eggs, and the incredible Icelandic yogurt. Don't hesitate to get the breakfast. Staff is very helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

CanadaBeds are too firm for our liking. No elevator makes to difficult to bring bags up 3 floors but understandable considering historical age of building.

The location was perfect! We were right in the middle of everything. The room was charming and spacious. They left you a little breakfast basket in the fridge and refreshed it every day. We were driving and it was very convenient to have a parking garage directly across the street. I would definitely stay again!

United StatesThe room was quiet. Occasional outside noise by city workers in the morning. Occasional noises from bars a block away. I don’t fault to properly at all.
We stayed in the Royal Suite in the Prime Ministers residence which is a one bedroom plus bar, kitchen, and living room area. Very spacious and comfortable. It felt like home. Clean. Unique in historic building. Location was amazingly close to downtown with a convenient parking structure across the street. Getting fresh bread each morning was a treat. Having a food basket with fruit, yogurt, eggs, sandwich ingredients was super amazing. Each day they brought different items. It was a great surprise at the end of each day. They also supplied milk, juice and other items. Amazing! We like to cook and their items plus ours made for great meals. There is even a wine frig that we appreciated. The dish and cooking essentials were pretty complete. The room had a large bathtub that was nice to relax in after a day of sightseeing.

United StatesThe shower does not have any shelving or places to set your toiletries down. The bathroom, while very nice, also lacked shelf space, so we put our toiletries outside on a dresser. This wasn't a huge problem or anything, but just something to note. Also, there was ongoing construction right outside of the main hotel building where reception is located, so we had to carry 3 pieces of luggage up a somewhat narrow incline covered in loose rocks. Since our room was not yet ready as we got in early, we were able to leave the luggage at the reception area, which was nice. However, we had to come back to reception and bring our luggage from there to our hotel building, which was a 5 minute walk away. This was all doable for us, even with kids, but if you have mobility concerns, you may want to plan on luggage storage elsewhere (such as at a shop on the main street) or finding an alternate way to reach reception.
The hotel is made up of different historic buildings that have been renovated into apartments/rooms. The location of our building (Artisan House) was perfectly situated for bus stops and getting to the main shopping/dining areas of Reykjavik. Since we were not directly on the main street(s), we found that our room was quiet and peaceful at night but still close to everything we wanted to see. Our room was spacious and easily accommodated all four of us traveling as a family. The breakfast basket was wonderful and very full of fresh fruit and cheeses, and if we had had more time in town, we would have easily eaten the entire basket and enjoyed the room even more.

United StatesThey upgraded our room at no additional charge. We were able to find free parking on the weekend close by. They left complimentary milk and juice in the fridge. Our apartment was right off the main shopping street and close to all the restaurants. We were grateful for the luggage storage at checkout so that we could enjoy walking around the town.

SingaporeConveniently located. The room was clean, even the cutlery. Love that the hotel noticed and provided things that helped to make my stay more convenient and comfortable, like milk, cooking oil and coffee/tea. I was also pleasantly surprise to find L'Occitane body wash and hand cream here. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Reykjavik.
