Good pillow Good shower Ample breakfast Super helpful staff

Per iceland norm for this price point.....super small rooms, no TV, no mini fridge. Also, here we found no real security after 10 pm on. Premise. Front hotel door always open? Per the pattern, we are always the first room top of stairs with all of the foot traffic with our booking.com stays in i eland so far.

Good location in Vik, a short walk to multiple restaurants, a local brewpub, lava show and the black sand beach. A short drive to even more restaurants and cafés and a small shopping centre with a supermarket. Hotel looks modern and well maintained inside. Some basic complimentary stuff was provided like eye mask and earplugs. Room was warm and bed was comfortable. Self check-in is possible, no keys needed. Very good quality of soap and tea (Yogi brand).

The main light switch in the room is connected with the two sockets next to it. So you either have to keep the light on and charge your stuff, or you turn the light off and lose power in the sockets, which is something that even the cheapest hotels don't do! You can only use the bathroom socket at night, or another socket that is placed on top, without any shelf next to it. More light and healthy breakfast options would be great - especially fruit was missing. There were only few banana pieces and completely dry oranges. It was overall very expensive for a basic double room.

We were able to walk to black sands beach.

It advertised a view of mountains or beach from every room. This was not the case. Hotel located in business district with absolutely no view from the room. The sheets were rinkled as if they had not been changed before our arrival. It was way overpriced. Price dropped $150 after my reservation. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Breakfast was good: a variety of bread, waffels, milk & cornflakes, fruit, yoghurt etc.

The 'apartment' was very simple, but that is something we knew beforehand: one bedroom with 2 beds, a 'living room / kitchen' with a bunk bed. In the evening we wanted to use the bunk bed as a couch, but the cushions had been removed, so that wasn't possible. The shower was also very simple, with a cheap curtain. Not what one would expect for €740 for one night! But the worst thing was that during the night the 'Rarik' factory (see picture) on the other side of the street started up, making so much noise that we weren't able to sleep a bit.... I would certainly not recommend this inn to anyone!

Excellent location, right in the town centre and very close to the Black Sand Beach. The breakfast is excellent with a lot of choice.

The bathroom is a bit small, and there is no curtain to prevent water from coming out during shower.

After reading some of the reviews I got quite worried. But everything that has been commented on has been fixed by the hotel. There was no smell in the bathroom, they had scent sticks. If you thought the room was cold, you could plug in an extra radiator. If you thought the room was too bright, they provided an eye mask. We could easily get an extra pillow from the reception for my pregnant wife.

Nothing really. The price is high, but thats Iceland for you. Its not a cheap place to travel here.

We loved our room with both an indoor entrance and convenient outdoor private entrance. There was also a convenient coded keypad for entry, so no key was necessary. Breakfast was better than most, with a waffle station, home-made banana bread and cinnamon bread. The location can’t be beat, near the Soup Company, the Katla Visitor’s Center, the Katla Wool Company, and the meeting place for Troll Expeditions (we had a tour, and this was a pleasant surprise!).

    Nothing

Breakfast exceeded expectations, beds/sleep was great. It was quiet and clean. The view out the window was of the gorgeous cliffs and bird colonies- very cool!

The price was very high- higher than our other luxury hotel the night before.
