Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEverything was excellent!! Could not have been any better!
Everything here was excellent! The room was so nice and the host was so welcoming and made the best breakfast. Everything was fresh and there was homemade bread, jam & rhubarb pie to name just a few things. A delicious & beautiful breakfast. The entire stay was better than any hotel we’ve stayed at. She thought of everything. I highly recommend this B&B!

AustraliaThe hostess ABBA is a lovely lady, here rooms are spacious and very clean with everything you need and more. The guest breakfast area was available for us to prepare food we brought for dinner, tea and coffee were available anytime. Breakfast was wonderful, freshly cooked bread, eggs from the farm and homemade jams plus Iceland happy marriage cake. ABBA even did some washing for us, thank you.

United StatesThere was nothing we didn't like about the stay. We had a little difficulty locating the place, but that may have been an issue with our GPS not giving us a clear road number and not being familiar with how roads are marked in Iceland.
Abba anticipated everything we could possibly need. She shared her knowledge of the area and life in Iceland, showed us around the farm, and introduced us to many of the animals. We woke the second morning to find Icelandic horses were pastured beneath our window, which just added to the lovely view we had of the valley. Breakfast was outstanding, with farm fresh eggs, home made bread and cake, and just about everything else you might want. There were always hot drinks and cookies available when we came in at the end of the day. The room was clean and comfortable. This was the best place we stayed and a high point on a 12-day trip around the country.

We liked the communication with our host before our stay about our arrival time. When we arrived, the room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The breakfast was outstanding and the views of all the farm animals made this stay unique. The location is central to Akureyri, Húsavík, and Mývatn for optimal exploration.

GermanyLeaving this place.
It was our second time in Iceland, however the first time here. Without doubt, this was the best accommodation we had in Iceland on both trips. Room is sufficiently large for larger luggage and is cleaned daily. The breakfast is the best we had during our stays in Iceland with fresh homemade bread, waffles, omelette. Abba and Hlynur are amazing hosts that make your stay worthwhile. Loved playing with Blámi, their guards dog. We definitely want to come back.

United KingdomEverything was great
This place is absolutely amazing! Abba is the lovelies and most kind person we met in Iceland. The room was great, to say it was extremely clean is not enough, it was immaculate. The bed was so comfortable. We were able to meet the animals from the farm, they were so sweet. Abba has more than 100 sheep and each and every one of them has a name that she remembers :) Horses, a sweet dog - such an experience. Abba wakes up very early every morning to bake a fresh home made bread for her guests, and prepare breakfast which was absolutely lovely. She made a chocolate cake that we loved. Great variety and home made, so much efort to make her guests feel special. There are biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate for all guests at all times. You can use Abba's kitchen, if you wish to cook lunch or dinner. I noticed that she offers laundry service for no additional fee. She is the kindest person ever. The house has a soul and character which we loved, it feels very special, and photos do not give it justice. Abba is very tactful and kind, she will give you your space if this is what you need, however, if you wish to get to know her and see the farm she will give you her attention and time. We absolutely loved this place and will come back when we visit Icelent in the summer season. Do no skip this place, it is a must to stay here at least for a night, but we would recomment two :)

SerbiaPhenomenal stay at Abba and Hlynur B&B. We only stayed for one night because of the long travel we had planned, but anyway it was awsome. Room was big, it had it's own bathroom and it was very clean. The couple is very kind, Abba even showed us the sheep, cows and horses they have. Also breakfast is fantastic. If you are planning to stay here, don't forget to say hi to Bruno and Blami, two amazing dogs they have :)

United KingdomFrom the moment we saw the property on booking we knew it's the one for us... And we were right ❤️ If you're looking for a place "in the middle of nowhere" but also not too far from the main road, if you love animals, a delicious breakfast including freshly baked bread or pancakes or simply looking for a comfortable bed to rest - look no further. 🏡 The rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable, powerful shower, fresh towels, hairdryer, soap, shower gel and shampoo provided as well.🛏️🚿 The kitchen is well equipped. There's a fridge and freezer for guests so you can keep and prepare your meals here without a problem. 🍽️🍳 In the dining room you'll find some interesting books, a big window with a lovely view to go with your tea, delicious coffee or other hot drink that's available all day ( and some cookies too ☕🍪🫖) and of course the breakfast is served here too 😋 homemade bread , jams, pancakes, eggs, yogurts, fruits, cheese, meat, veggies, cake... 🥖🥞🧀🥚 There's a free laundry service if you need it, the WiFi works well and a packed lunch is available to buy. 😃 The dogs, horses, sheep and chickens are beautiful.🐕🐎🐑🐓 I do recommend staying here even if it's just for one night during your ring road trip or perhaps a few days to explore and enjoy the area. We loved it very much and we're hoping to stay here again in the future. Thank you so much Abba & Hlynur 🫶🏼

AustriaNothing was missing, not a single thing to complain about!
We absolutely loved our stay here at Öndólfsstaðir! We stayed only one night and we wish it would have been longer. Abba, the host, is exceptional and she personally makes the most fantastic breakfast for you - the waffles and the eggs from the farm were amazing. The room was super clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. There are two friendly dogs, Brúnó and Blámi, who are the cutest. I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are staying in the north of Iceland you have to stay here. It is 40 minute drive to Akureyri, 40 minute drive from Mývatn Nature Baths. It is perfectly situated. Also we saw our first northern lights in Iceland when we stayed here. 100/10 stars from us ❤️

United KingdomNothing - it was splendid.
Lovely farmhouse in a beautiful valley setting in Laugar. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped and very clean. The host (Abba) was extremely helpful and friendly. We arranged a convenient (slightly late) check in time with ease. We were shown to the hot drinks facilities and had a warm tea on arrival. She was even so kind as to leave a present for our 10th wedding anniversary and my wife's 40th birthday (the reasons for our trip). Abba showed us the animals the next morning and we had a wonderful chat. We would totally recommend a stay here.
